Its a shame that the wildness issue cropped up again for Ankiel, I read he tossed a couple to the backstop in a scrimmage or something early on in ST... that and the injuries probably were the deciding factors in him attempting the position switch.
On the subject of wildness, from all I heard last year is that was the problem with Rett Johnsons personal issues last year. It seems to have crept back up his first few outings in the spring training games this year. Hopefully he can overcome his issues and become a quality major league pitcher. He'll be an interesting story to follow this year.
You know, other than the wildness and his number 66, what I remember from Ankiel is that curveball he had when we was dealing. That thing was just wrong. It's sad from afar, and it must be sad for Cardinal fans, knowing what it looked like they had when he first came up with the big club.
