that Jorge Cantu's Gameday pic doesn't look like Quinn, the shark hunter from Jaws.
Wait, I forgot how young you guys all are. See, "Jaws" was this movie about a big shark and a little boat. You would have liked it because the shark loved the taste of New Englanders....
I dont know much about how many games hes started and stuff like that, but I thought that maybe in the off-season they would work on him being a starter??
but I did see that, cause we are 50-98 against the AL west over the last 3 seasons, what do they expect, we've lost 99 and 93 games the last 2 years, which probably means you ain't wining in the division.
In a quiet postgame clubhouse, Liriano, 22, seemed on the verge of tears, and his voice crackled as he described the pain, pointing to the inside of the elbow this time, beneath the muscle and possibly in the joint.
Kiss them goodbye from the Wildcard hunt if Liriano goes down... which it appears he will. At best, they need to shut him down for a few weeks. By all accounts, it's just increasing soreness as doctor visits have revealed no structural damage, per the article.
Post deadline too. That was kinda weird to me. Maybe they exposed him to waivers, Arizona claimed him and before DC pulled him back the DBacks said, "No! We'll send you prospects!" And given that the Nats probably aren't going anywhere for the foreseeable future and Livan wasn't much more than a workhorse, they bit.
"He had a game against Atlanta where he had two hits and a walk to load the bases, and he gets a popup and a double play to get out of it," Putz said. "He's out there smacking his leg [with his glove]. It was good to see -- typical Eddie."
whats typical Eddie?? slapping his glove or loading the bases with nobody out???....JJ lest us decided
that's the "donut release trigger." Eddie slaps his leg, and a powdered donut drops down his pants leg. Then he bends over to pick up the rosin bag and scarfs it down. And you all thought that white cloud was resin.... Ha, pure sugar!

Post deadline too. That was kinda weird to me. Maybe they exposed him to waivers, Arizona claimed him and before DC pulled him back the DBacks said, "No! We'll send you prospects!" And given that the Nats probably aren't going anywhere for the foreseeable future and Livan wasn't much more than a workhorse, they bit.Gomez - August 7, 2006

FWIW
We gain a game on 3rd place Tejas and are now one back of them. BUT don't get any delusions of jumping in the race, because Tejas lost to... Oakland.Gomez - August 7, 2006
Krueger
going on about why Beltre appears to be back. I must concur.Y'all think Adrian has finally figured out the AL?
Gomez - August 7, 2006
Beltre will never truly be back till he's slugging
.500+ and hitting 30 homers.But he's not a bad player anymore.
Goose - August 7, 2006
I think
If we judge him by his contract then no, he will never be that good.If you just look at him as a player I think he will be very good, infact hes probably putting up real good numbers compared to other AL 3rd baseman.
MFAN - August 7, 2006
I just checked Beltre's hit chart
I guestimated that he has 7 "safeco homers."WAB - August 7, 2006
Beltre since June 2nd:
.287/.354/.539That's about as good as he can be in this ballpark.

Anybody here what JJ said on Eddie
"He had a game against Atlanta where he had two hits and a walk to load the bases, and he gets a popup and a double play to get out of it," Putz said. "He's out there smacking his leg [with his glove]. It was good to see -- typical Eddie."whats typical Eddie?? slapping his glove or loading the bases with nobody out???....JJ lest us decided
MFAN - August 7, 2006
The leg slap is because
that's the "donut release trigger." Eddie slaps his leg, and a powdered donut drops down his pants leg. Then he bends over to pick up the rosin bag and scarfs it down. And you all thought that white cloud was resin.... Ha, pure sugar!kva15 - August 7, 2006

Funniest post all week!WAB - August 7, 2006

It's like Jason Johnson's insulin pump... except it's a... donut pump.Gomez - August 8, 2006
As a heads-up
I think we've got a planned server upgrade going down tonight, so that'll explain any outages that occur.Jeff Sullivan - August 7, 2006
