(What is this?)

I can't write anything about the game, because there's (supposedly) an imminent network server upgrade on the horizon that's going to take us down for a little while, and presumably by the time it comes back up I'll be asleep. Sorry about that. If you're annoyed, blame Athletics Nation, which has apparently gotten too big too fast for the current server setup (or something).

Anyway, I'll just save my thoughts on tonight's game for tomorrow's wrap-up. Felix and Jae Seo at 7:05pm PDT as the Mariners look to double their current win streak.

Game thoughts
JJ's walk-up song is perfect, "King Nothing" by Metallica.  But he didn't have his best stuff last night.  Seeing Julio Mateo get the win was painful, very painful

Richie GIDP'd on a 3-0 pitch.

I'm no longer bad luck...but in 5 games at Safeco this season, I'm 1-4.

I love Jamie, but he's on his way out (don't think that's a surprise to anyone).  Sporting a 7.29 ERA since the ASB.

Why was WFB playing today vs. a RHP?  Meh, he went 1-3 and didn't do anything too embarrassing in center.

"King Nothing"
lol, I couldn't place the song. I haven't listened to "Load" in so long I thought the song was "Ain't My Bitch"...and that didn't really make sense.
Jones
is not a veteran so he can't play more than 4 times a week.
Corey Brock: ::SLURP SLURP SLURP::

Corey:  Would you like a teabag, Mr. Bloomquist?
Beltre:  Hey, I hit a homerun today.
Ibanez:  Yeah, me too.  You gonna mention us?
Corey:  Did you get your uniform dirty?  Do you scrap and hustle on every play, every at bat?
Willie:  HEY, COREY, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?  LITTLE WILLIE'S NOT GONNA POLISH HIMSELF!
Corey:  Oh yeah.  ::slurp slurp::
Beltre:  That's disgusting.
Ibanez:  I'd rather get traded back to Kansas City than watch this.  C'mon, let's go get some hookers.
Willie:  HOOKERS!  THAT'S DISGUSTING AND IMMORAL!
Corey:  ::gags::

Man, that's bad
The best play of the day wasn't even a play that was made. How profound.

What a strange thing for Brock to hone in on.

Wow! You aren't kidding!
By the way that article reads, its like those runs just magically appeared. The guy made one play, which wasn't even that good and the guy goes crazy about it. What a waste of ink.
From USSM
4. My mother could beat up Willie Bloomquist.

Willie Ballgame has an Isolated Slugging% (SLG-BA) of .032, thanks to his whopping four extra base hits on the season. Among players with at least 100 plate appearances, WFB's .032 ISO ranks 374th out of 374, unsurprisingly. But how bad is an ISO of .032?

The average national league pitcher has an ISO of .043. Willie Bloomquist has hit for less power this year than the league average hitting pitcher. Yes, he does some things well enough (mainly, steal bases) to keep a roster spot in the major leagues, but the idea that he's any kind of major league player who deserves regular playing time is a joke.

Someone Weaker Than Willie Ballgame
Jason Tyner of the Twins got his 100 PA last night and has an ISO of .011.  Why do I know this?  Don't ask.

We Willie...
must have pictures of Grover from Sheep Illustrated....what the hell is he still doing in the bigs?
Is that from the Chuck Armstrong centerfold issue?
Yes it is...
I heard Wee Willie got an advertising gig for a feminine hygene product called SSY....because he puts the PU in....well you figure out the rest...
Don't forget Pablo Ozu-
Oh wait, are we allowed to mention him?
