I've had a long, enjoyable night away from baseball watching and celebrating hockey, so this is a You Write The Recap! if I've ever seen one. Methinks Brandon Morrow needs to not inherit baserunners anymore, because, yeah, awful control.

I was nearly sad that Putz didn't pull a BS
I really wanted Ichiro to get that 5th time to the plate. It would have been the most fortunate blown save in Mariners' club history. And in all those clips of The Double tonight, I just wanted to comment that whoever was playing left for NYY got the ball off the wall really quickly. I love Edgar as much as the next guy (if not more), but you've got to give Junior credit for scoring on that.
And one more thing: each time they played Edgar's GS in that series, they cut part of the clip. I'm pretty sure Dave says "Bernie Williams goes back..." before getting out some rye bread for the grand salami.

Poor hitting streak.

I can't wait...
For Hit Tracker to update with the Teixeira homer. That was was absolutely mauled.Possibly the longest homer I've ever seen in person. Certainly the hardest hit.

It literally made my jaw drop
I've never seen a in-game home run reach the second row of the hit it here cafe. Also, If that ball took a better hop it might have rolled out of the stadium.Robert - June 3, 2007
Really?
I've seen Giambi do it person. I almost caught the bounceScruffy Lefty - June 3, 2007
Mine.
Kingdome.McGwire off of Unit. Just about hit the scoreboard, about 25 feet from us.

Oooohhh
I was there too. You could hear a pin drop after that one. Folks were just in awe....rtang - June 3, 2007
Oh, yeah.
And RJ's 19 Ks, too, were pretty jaw-drapping. Combine those two things with the fact that he LOST, too, man.PositivePaul - June 3, 2007
Mine
Bonds almost hit the PacBell/AT&T/Whatever centerfield Jumbotron back in his Large Days.In the Kingdome, Rod Carew hit a ball so hard I thought it was going to exit through the second deck concrete in left field.
Paytheline - June 3, 2007
Bonds
hit one to right-center in Seattle last year BEHIND me (and I sit sec. 106, row 29), and it was the only time I have literally been afraid for my life at a baseball game. The ball was hit on a line out there. The only others I think I've had hit in my neighborhood were two by Luis Gonzalez in the HR Derby in 2001. I actually caught one of those, too. It was pretty sweet. If you've got it taped, you can see me nab his third homerun in the first round.

A game against the Yankees
I remember Sheffield hitting a foul ball that hit Lookout Landing. I was sitting in the back row of the LF bleachers thinking "man if that ball was fair it would of hit me in the face"Scruffy Lefty - June 3, 2007
That's pretty intense
And I thought that Justin Leone's first homerun (I think. It was upper deck, LF) was crushed back in the day, too. I think I was influenced by a couple of years of non-power-hitting baseball.tworsandtwols - June 3, 2007
It almost came to me on the bounmce back
but it went to someone a row up and 5 seats over. I thought someone had tried to throw it back but had a shit arm.Mariner John - June 3, 2007
The Most Amazing Moment...
OK, here's my little recap of that one big inning:After Texas scored 3 on a hit, 4 walks, and a HBP, the most amazing thing happened: Brandon Morrow threw a pitch that wasn't a fastball! It bounced up to home plate, but the hitter was so surprised that he swung anyway and the inning was over.

YAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRR!!!
First off, that HR last night was incredible!!! One of the farthest Ive seen outside of a homerun derby. Ill be there again today, dont know where though. I would love to be in the beer garden yelling at Lofton but Im a ginger kid so that probably wont happen today. See ya at the park, Go mariners!!!RED29 - June 3, 2007
