they're two different guys with two different styles?... McLaren evidently doesn't have a problem with young guys playing with all the Adam Jones rumors.... so why wouldn't McLaren fill out a lineup card differently, using his better talent higher in the lineup and sticking Vidro at the bottom. Would seem logical that you'd do that to a guy you are getting ready to make a permanent bench player.

I think his style/philosophies are similar

and he's only more lenient than Hargrove on the Jones thing because he's too new to have much say.
