Wrigley Field
Chad Billingsley vs Carlos Zambrano
Mostly cloudy with a 30-percent chance of rain. Winds blowing out to right field at 10-20 m.p.h. Game Time temperature: Around 60.
I want CC to whomp on Myers like Myers whomps on Ms. Myers.
esoteric - October 2, 2008
It would be incredible if CC were to become injured from all these 3 day rest starts
JI - October 2, 2008
Huh.
Jeff Sullivan - October 2, 2008
So who wants to do me a favor and post that Brad Lidge/little leaguers picture?
Jeff Sullivan - October 2, 2008
Robert - October 2, 2008
Bahahahahahahahaha
BrianL - October 2, 2008
Thank you
Jeff Sullivan - October 2, 2008
Your welcome :)
Robert - October 2, 2008
Are you sure it's his welcome?
Wilder. - October 2, 2008
Have you ever used you're in a non-mocking fashion in your life?
Jeff Sullivan - October 2, 2008
You're just being mean now
Robert - October 2, 2008
Rec'd
Jeff Sullivan - October 2, 2008
I do you what it takes to get the premium recs
Robert - October 2, 2008
ruh roh
Robert - October 2, 2008
Here's a less than premium rec.
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
Not begging just commenting
Robert - October 2, 2008
Tyrannosaurus Recs
Alex B - October 2, 2008
Recs 'N Effect
kevin_ess - October 2, 2008
Rec of the Edmund Fitzgerald?
As the big recs go, it was bigger than most.
esoteric - October 2, 2008
I once signed a petition to make that the Canadian national anthem.
Llewdor - October 2, 2008
.
Alex B - October 2, 2008
Rex'd.
kevin_ess - October 2, 2008
There is no curse...
The Cubs just suck =p.
Slurvey - October 2, 2008
So thanks
to whomever gave the tip about TBS’ Hot Corner. My probable upcoming unemployed status thanks you.
kevin_ess - October 2, 2008
What's wrong, CC?
kevin_ess - October 2, 2008
I dunno', but I want him to hit Myers in the face.
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
Damn.
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
Good God he is pitching horribly.
kevin_ess - October 2, 2008
Holy shit the Brewers are boned as all hell.
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
It was nice to see you in the playoffs, Milwaukee
maybe in another 26 years you can win a game.
Jeff Sullivan - October 2, 2008
The Cardinals would have made so much more of this oppotunity.
JI - October 2, 2008
Ahahahahahaha
Eyebrows - October 2, 2008
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I’d be more excited if they were playing Matt Stairs, but maybe he’ll DH in the world series.
Llewdor - October 2, 2008
Brett Myers is so awesome it's almost like he didn't beat up his wife.
JI - October 2, 2008
His wife would probably disagree
Alex B - October 2, 2008
Get him out of there, Sveum
Is this some bizarre plan to drive down his FA market value?
marc w - October 2, 2008
Might as well save him for game 5
He looked gassed on Sunday and much more so today.
JI - October 2, 2008
Did that ad really just play?
andrewgolfsalot - October 2, 2008
I'm so sorry Cammy. :(
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
Walking Victorino to get to Utley is insane
JI - October 2, 2008
But he struck him out twice.
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
But a much larger sample that indicates Utley is a far superior hitter
JI - October 2, 2008
Go blow a spreadsheet.
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
Hoe does that even work?
JI - October 2, 2008
If you find out, let me know because I'm curious myself.
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
About fracking time.
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
Thank you for the thought to whoever temporarily banned me
but it really wasn’t necessary- I got the paper done with 32 minutes to spare
Corco - October 2, 2008
Well this gamethread is all kinds of jumping
seattlebruin - October 2, 2008
The Brewers have removed my will to type.
Teej - October 2, 2008
no TV
I’m not sure how me, my parents, and some amount of alumni/whoever funds scholarships are collaboratively paying $40+ thousand a year for me to live in a building that isn’t cable-ready
Corco - October 2, 2008
This is awesome.
Lil’ Wayne is blogging for ESPN and is a Rays fan.
Example:
Teej - October 2, 2008
Lil' Wayne is all kinds of awesome
and the part about his fantasy football team is rather hilarious as well
seattlebruin - October 2, 2008
Lil Wayne is not all kinds of awesome. He makes really catchy songs with atrocious lyrics and that's it
Dewey N - October 2, 2008
False.
Teej - October 2, 2008
*annoyingly catchy songs?
Dewey N - October 2, 2008
*decent songs with awesome lyrics.
(I’m ignoring Lollipop and any other “made exclusively for radio” songs.)
His mixtapes are better than his albums, though.
Teej - October 2, 2008
Point me in the direction of a good song because so far I haven't been impressed
Dewey N - October 2, 2008
Just find some of his free-styles..one of the best out there.
kentroyals5 - October 2, 2008
This mixtape will blow your mind.
Pitchfork review of Drought 3
Shouldn’t be hard to find on torrent somewhere. It was released for free.
Teej - October 2, 2008
He's a fan of like a dozen teams
in each sport.
bluemax - October 2, 2008
Wow, I just saw the Orlando Cabrera highlights
What the hell?
seattlebruin - October 2, 2008
Go go gadget rally
Dewey N - October 2, 2008
The Phillies suck
>:(
JI - October 2, 2008
A real ace would have won today
Jeff Sullivan - October 2, 2008
I blame Sheets for getting injuered
JI - October 2, 2008
Stupid one-two punch.
.Taylor - October 2, 2008
Shane Victorino makes absolutely no sense.
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
Fit for queen and king-o...
JI - October 2, 2008
Any portlanders here?
If so, have you been to Belmont Station?
If so, do they ship?
Matthew - October 2, 2008
Sabathia/Zambrano combine for 5.0 IP 10 Runs today.
ThundaPC - October 2, 2008
ONE HUNDRED YEARS!! CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP!
Damnit Brewers. Yeah Rays!
Goose - October 2, 2008
Dodgers!
I should’ve bought tickets. $140 for two tickets isn’t that bad :(
bluemax - October 2, 2008
This was not what I was expecting to see when I turned this game on.
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
Ahahahaha!
One of the best Cubs team ever is getting completely dominated by the third worst playoff team in MLB history.
Awesome.
Goose - October 2, 2008
*tear*
Jeff Sullivan - October 2, 2008
Except that the Dodgers are closer to being a 90 win team on a true talent level.
JI - October 2, 2008
Bottom line:They have the third worst record in playoff history.
Goose - October 2, 2008
Irrelevant
JI - October 2, 2008
True. This series continues to drive the point that the postseason has very little meaning in determining who was the best team in any given year.
Still, the Cubs are getting destroyed by the team with the third worst record in playoff history.
Goose - October 2, 2008
Yay!
Jeff Sullivan - October 2, 2008
If the Dodgers had this lineup the whole year they would not have such an paltry record
JI - October 2, 2008
Probably not.
And if Erik Bedard had pitched 200 innings, the Mariners wouldn’t of been as bad either.
Goose - October 2, 2008
All that matters is what thw team's talent record is in the here and now
I think the Dodgers are much better than the Brewers
JI - October 2, 2008
I would argue that in the playoffs, pretty much anything that happened in the regular season doesn't matter.
Considering the sample size.
Goose - October 2, 2008
FOr the most part, yes.
JI - October 2, 2008
Because even with the Dodgers current talent level, they are not near as good as the Cubs are.
And yet here we are.
Goose - October 2, 2008
The Dodgers had a really sad 5 run inning
Dewey N - October 2, 2008
At least the double was legitimate
Jeff Sullivan - October 2, 2008
Dane Cook, Cheech and Chong, Katt Williams
“the funniest names in comedy.”
Teej - October 2, 2008
Don't forget Jerry Seinfeld!
Goose - October 2, 2008
I find Katt Williams hilarious because I can really relate to his material
Dewey N - October 2, 2008
I watched his show in GTA IV. It was more funny than the real-life Katt Williams.
Teej - October 2, 2008
I bet Lou is dying for a smoke.
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
Mother of God that was destroyed.
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
Yah, when the ball disappears into the darkness before it reaches it's highest point....yah..crushed.
kentroyals5 - October 2, 2008
Hey look at that, another Dodgers run.
Goose - October 2, 2008
A different level.
Manny is just playing at a different level.
Jeff Sullivan - October 2, 2008
I'm starting to think he was actually really, really tanking it in Boston.
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
I won't bother speculating on what's going on but for 2 or 3 months now he's been the best hitter on the planet
Jeff Sullivan - October 2, 2008
It hasn't been even particularly close, either.
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
Pujols
Jeff Sullivan - October 2, 2008
I can't believe I take being able to watch him play for granted.
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
Albert Pujols is arguably the most underappreciated player in baseball
Jeff Sullivan - October 2, 2008
Yeah, it's insane. And it's not like he plays in a small market for a bad team, either.
I’ve been thinking lately that Youkilis is ridiculously underrated as well.
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
Which is insane.
Goose - October 2, 2008
late
Goose - October 2, 2008
Not by me
JI - October 2, 2008
What about that kid in the Balkans?
kentroyals5 - October 2, 2008
.396/.489/.743 for LA.
Those are Barry Bonds numbers with a higher average.
Goose - October 2, 2008
I was just saying this...
JI - October 2, 2008
YAY MANNY!
kentroyals5 - October 2, 2008
Aw dammit.
I knew I stayed too long watching USF go down.
Wilder. - October 2, 2008
Anyone else think the sound from TBS sounds like constant booing in the background?
Wilder. - October 2, 2008
The Cubs are down 6-0 so it's probably constant booing
Jeff Sullivan - October 2, 2008
I think it's annoying, but if is constant booing, I find it rather amusing enough to tolerate.
Wilder. - October 2, 2008
Best fans in baseball!
Robert - October 2, 2008
I was wondering the same..but my conclusion is 100 years of boos stick around and rattle through the stands.
kentroyals5 - October 2, 2008
...
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
Could've flipped Yuni for him last offseason.
:(
Wilder. - October 2, 2008
By the looks of that picture we wouldn't have lost too much silliness in the deal.
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
On the negative side his name is too easy to pun
Dewey N - October 2, 2008
He looks like a muppet!
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
He'd look better sideways
Jeff Sullivan - October 2, 2008
gay
Teej - October 2, 2008
I don't possess the means or the equipment.
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
Is that you Cirillio?
JI - October 2, 2008
I wouldn't nail Jeff's sister.
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
gay
JI - October 2, 2008
Sometimes I wonder.
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
He's pretty cute
Dewey N - October 2, 2008
Are we going to be able to interview Ng during the NLCS
Robert - October 2, 2008
Why does everyone think Ng is going to be a good GM?
Dewey N - October 2, 2008
I don't have a opinion either way
I just think that if the Dodgers make a deep playoff run, the job is hers to take
Robert - October 2, 2008
She's been towards the top of most people's lists for like five years now.
She’s visible and a known quantity.
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
Why does anyone think any candidate will be a good GM?
Wilder. - October 2, 2008
She's at least worth a look, no?
She’s put in her time and might be deserving of a shot. People in baseball obviously know her better than we do so I don’t want to speculate as to her capabilities, but she interviewed for the Dodgers job and has been rising through the ranks — and several organizations — for years.
Teej - October 2, 2008
She's easily the most well know AGM (aside from DePo, who is sort of a different case) in baseball, and not just because of her gender.
She has a pretty good reputation. She’s not my first choice, but she’s certainly someone they should interview.
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
What a gay way to catch a popup.
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
Jeff Sullivan - October 2, 2008
Clement too easy?
Dewey N - October 2, 2008
Doesn't have the underground gay rumors
Jeff Sullivan - October 2, 2008
But if he did....
Robert - October 2, 2008
Then we'd never see Graham again
Jeff Sullivan - October 2, 2008
So you're assuming Clements man selection is just bad as his pitch selection huh?
Robert - October 2, 2008
Don't even think about it JI
Graham MacAree - October 2, 2008
I thought about it and had pulled down my bookmarks before I saw this comment
JI - October 2, 2008
I love it that Alfonso Soriano is hitting leadoff.
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
Somehow I don't think Lou is telling him he pitched a good game tonight.
And Cubs fans are giving him a standing ovation despite the fact that they are losing 6-0.
Goose - October 2, 2008
Like all 6 were his fault
JI - October 2, 2008
Obviously.
Goose - October 2, 2008
I like how they show the elderly people in the crowd cringing.
They sum up the entire Cubs fanbase.
Wilder. - October 2, 2008
Yep
Goose - October 2, 2008
I laughed really hard when I saw this.
I’m tempted to put this on the cubbies forum but that would be trollism.
Slurvey - October 2, 2008
Livin' on a prayer.
Great song to get the crowd motivated.
:-/
Wilder. - October 2, 2008
Because God is clearly willing to look out for Cubs fans' best interests
Jeff Sullivan - October 2, 2008
That's why he sent them Saint Bartman.
Wilder. - October 2, 2008
It never ceases to amuse me when I see Cub fans praying
It’s like, dude, it’s not gonna work.
Jeff Sullivan - October 2, 2008
That's because God is already too busy with this guy:
Wilder. - October 2, 2008
Wonder what type of contract he'll get...
Slurvey - October 2, 2008
Insane
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
A bad one.
Teej - October 2, 2008
I hate that gif so much.
.Taylor - October 2, 2008
It's amazing
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
I'm waiting for someone to mention KRods on their fantasy team.
And then laugh at them when they’re banned.
.Taylor - October 2, 2008
Not happening
JI - October 2, 2008
Curse you and your entire family!
.Taylor - October 2, 2008
Needs more Lightning!
And COWBELL!
Slurvey - October 2, 2008
Never make that joke again.
.Taylor - October 2, 2008
I convinced my arch rival to trade KRod the first week of the season
Robert - October 2, 2008
ESPN or Yahoo?
Kidding, kidding.
.Taylor - October 2, 2008
KRod is on my fantasy team
Graham MacAree - October 2, 2008
How did you fare overall
Robert - October 2, 2008
By fantasy team I meant I have fantasies of killing him.
Graham MacAree - October 3, 2008
So Ronaldo is your starter
Robert - October 3, 2008
I'm curious as to how many points he got you in the crucial Week 22 matchup.
Teej - October 3, 2008
Somebody's gotta be Job.
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
Wow
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
Sheesh.
.Taylor - October 2, 2008
What a crap game.
JI - October 2, 2008
Postseason*
No drama at all.
Robert - October 2, 2008
It's up the the Sox and Angels to play close games now
JI - October 2, 2008
Watching the Angels fans walk out quietly with their clapping devices last night was the highlight of my week.
Teej - October 2, 2008
God Bless MLBTV
.Taylor - October 2, 2008
I got to watch the failure in high definition.
Teej - October 2, 2008
Bastard
JI - October 2, 2008
More accurately, highER definition
.Taylor - October 2, 2008
Did they scaler back this year
last year, the few blips that made it to TNT, were 100% pure HD
JI - October 2, 2008
*scale
JI - October 2, 2008
I know what you're talking about, yeah.
.Taylor - October 2, 2008
My TBS has perfectly good HD.
Teej - October 2, 2008
LIke I said earlier there is no curse the cubbies just suck.
Slurvey - October 2, 2008
Can't we just skip the top of the ninth?
Wilder. - October 2, 2008
If this game were played 4 years ago
Edmonds would have 2 homers and a great catch to his credit
JI - October 2, 2008
It also wouldn't have happened with the cubs 3 games out of the playoff
Robert - October 2, 2008
This is bigger than the point I intended to make
JI - October 2, 2008
Adrian Beltre would have been playing 3rd base for LA
Robert - October 2, 2008
Imma miss that guy....
.Taylor - October 2, 2008
Theriot hadn't even been born yet
JI - October 2, 2008
Such a tyke.
.Taylor - October 2, 2008
In fact LA couldnt have even played the Cubs in the first round.
Jesus do you ever think these things out
Robert - October 2, 2008
Out of context, "Jesus do you ever think these things out" sounds hilarious.
.Taylor - October 2, 2008
Overrated
Robert - October 2, 2008
What?
.Taylor - October 2, 2008
Good gravy
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
So much for the 1-2 punch of Dempster and Zambrano.
Slurvey - October 2, 2008
Shoulda thrown Harden
JI - October 2, 2008
No kidding!
Well, they have a chance with Lilly and Harden.
.Taylor - October 2, 2008
Sounds familiar.
.Taylor - October 2, 2008
lol more like dumpster
Robert - October 2, 2008
and Hardon
JI - October 2, 2008
Don't forget Lamegayno.
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
ZamBrawndo?
Faux - October 2, 2008
Zamdrano?
Wilder. - October 2, 2008
It's got what plants crave.
esoteric - October 2, 2008
Well-played.
.Taylor - October 2, 2008
And Lillylivered.
.Taylor - October 2, 2008
Zambrainsno!
Slurvey - October 2, 2008
Saito's the closer.
Can’t you tell?
Faux - October 2, 2008
Did anyone else just see that big red X flash across the screen.
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
?
?
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
I SAW THAT!
I was wondering what that was!
.Taylor - October 2, 2008
Not I.
Hot corner feed? I’m on the TBS HD and I don’t see it.
Faux - October 2, 2008
It was when they were showing Sears Tower.
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
It was right after that.
.Taylor - October 2, 2008
I wish I could screenshot my tv.
I went back and I see it.
Wilder. - October 2, 2008
Shit's creepy.
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
Subliminal message to the Cubs fanbase.
They are losers.
Wilder. - October 2, 2008
And here come the Cubbies!
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
Except not.
.Taylor - October 2, 2008
If they come back it's all over.
ESPN HQ will overflow with the orgasms of every headline editor at once.
Faux - October 2, 2008
Eww.
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
That's too descriptive for my liking.....
.Taylor - October 2, 2008
The ticker across the bottom will just be one long "OH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
Faux - October 2, 2008
Kool Aid!
Slurvey - October 2, 2008
Oh YEAHAAAH!

Slurvey - October 2, 2008
I like this one:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjacMS7Siqw&feature=related
Wilder. - October 2, 2008
Former mariners on the dodgers...
Derek Lowe
Larry Bowa (coach)
Rick Honeycott(coach)
Only team in the playoff without a former M is the Angels.
Slurvey - October 2, 2008
Fuck.
.Taylor - October 2, 2008
Interesting that they're bringing up the 1995 series when the Mariners were down two games and came back
When they said before that that sort of situation had only happened once before, when the Yankees did it.
darmok - October 2, 2008
CMON 10 RUNS WE CAN DO THIS
JI - October 2, 2008
It hit the line!
darmok - October 2, 2008
Boohoo Cubbie fans. You are going to lose regardless if it was fair or not.
Goose - October 2, 2008
So Matt Kemp's range isn't all that good.
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
Haha, why are they getting excited?
Wilder. - October 2, 2008
I......don't.........know.
.Taylor - October 2, 2008
This was a fairly well written article for the Tribune
http://www.thenewstribune.com/sports/mariners/story/495511.html
Robert - October 2, 2008
I agree.
.Taylor - October 2, 2008
If the final score ends up being 10-9 that would be the most hilarious thing ever.
Aaron Campeau - October 2, 2008
with the bases loaded and a 3-0 count.
Slurvey - October 2, 2008
In the Fark thread about these games, somebody brung up the point that the Cubs need to win the next two games.
Because it wouldn’t be right for them to lose this series in non heartbreaking fashion.
Goose - October 2, 2008
LETS GO CUBBIES
JI - October 2, 2008
I found this photo on TNT... Anyone we know?
Slurvey - October 2, 2008
HAHA! Suck it Cubbies!
Goose - October 2, 2008
Well that rally sucked
JI - October 2, 2008
Not a strike.
But whatever, the Cubs were not coming back.
Wilder. - October 2, 2008
Not if they didn't swing at anything
darmok - October 2, 2008
Yay
Jeff Sullivan - October 2, 2008
