I was 15 when this happened.
Not that I think his career quite measures up to Ray Bourque's - few do - but Jamie Moyer's a Seattle man at heart, and he pitched as a Mariner for more than a decade. While I'm rooting for the Rays, if Moyer's able to get himself his first ever ring in his first ever World Series as he pushes 46...as consolation prizes go, it doesn't get much more heartwarming.
I don't see how this World Series could possibly go wrong.

Yeah I won't be upset if either team wins
Dewey N - October 22, 2008
Which makes it kind of boring
JI - October 22, 2008
Guilt free when I root for neither team to win each game!
Dewey N - October 22, 2008
Maximize your enjoyment, root for both.

This is true
Dewey N - October 22, 2008
I will root for whatever team is losing during each game
Dewey N - October 22, 2008
I tend to root for the NL over the AL
but smart team vs. old dumbish team is taking precedence here
JI - October 22, 2008
This time, I won't mind extras.

I want 7 walkoffs
Robert - October 22, 2008
My wife bought me a "Phillies National League Champions" t-shirt at the Philly airport last week
so I guess I want the Phillies to win, but I would not at all complain if the Rays did.

I am so very pumped to watch this tonight.

I'M ROOTING FOR BUD SELIG!
oh, wait. No I’m not.

I'm rooting for another game 7
mariners124m - October 22, 2008
Just don't let it be a sweep of either team
Moyer winning a start which he goes deep into the game, and the Rays winning it in 7 games would be the ultimate post-season – without the M’s that is.
wwbaker3 - October 22, 2008
Made it all the better that it came at the hands of the damned Devils.
Matthew - October 22, 2008
Faux is the first person I have ever seen admit to being a Devils fan
Robert - October 22, 2008
If they hadn't done it someone else would have.
Blame the NHL and their rules.
Faux - October 22, 2008
Damned Colorado.

"I don't see how this World Series could possibly go wrong."
Just wait, Jeff. After all our loose talk during the season, THIS will be the moment where that plane full of Red Sox players goes barreling into the baseball stadium.

THERE IS NO FLOOR
pdb - October 22, 2008
I was totally planning on saying that below :-(
I won’t now – to avoid the dreaded LATE
seattlesundevil - October 22, 2008
So the Red Sox die then right?
Jeff Sullivan - October 22, 2008
yeah, but the Series would probably be delayed/called off
pdb - October 22, 2008
But Sox.
Phil Hatzenbuehler - October 22, 2008
Greg Dobbs: World Series MVP.
JAH - October 22, 2008
The Dobber
You can’t mention the Phillies without the face of the franchise… former Mariner Greg Dobbs ;)
RavingGoat - October 22, 2008
Fuck you.
Faux - October 22, 2008
One season the Mariners are going to win the World Series and it will be the greatest sporting moment this city's ever had
Nick S - October 22, 2008
I dunno...
79 was pretty all right if you ask me…
The fat lady sang, man, and that was fantastic.
PositivePaul - October 23, 2008
The Ray have already won because making to the World Series for the first time is a win in and of itself!
I wish people would stop talking like the Yankees. “The season is a waste unless you win it all!”
The Rays and Phillies have both won.
I am rooting for a good series: no error defense, great pitching, and wonderful hitting. A series that sends us baseball fans happily off into the cold cold winter.
Only another 136 days until I head down to Spring Training.
