Jeff: Senators game is on today, correct? In about a half hour. Just wanted to wish your team good luck, as one of my 3—-the Lightning—-lost yesterday to kick off the year. My favorite got the only goal though, so yay.
Brewers fans should be happy to have spent some time in the post-season for the first time in awhile. Between the Phillies and Dodgers…hard to say, good match-up. I’ll be rooting for the Phillies, but I wont feel bad if the Dodgers make it.
On the AL side, Tampa needs to finish off the White Sox, the Red Sox need to finish off the Angels, and then we can have an epic battle of AL East juggernauts, of good (the Rays) vs. evil (pink hats).
How about Coco hits a foul ball into the Angels dugout and it hits Vlad and Lackey in the knees managing to tear both of their ACLs, then Coco hits a ball off Torii Hunters head over the wall for a walkoff home run?
Ok while K-Rod is falling off the mound after throwing that meatball, he falls on his shoulder and dislocates it making him cry tears of mental and physical pain
that since it’s a tough HR park against RHBs, you can go after them more so than you might and not have to worry so much about surrendering a season ending HR
That psychedelic tie went nicely with those bold, colorful stripes. Maybe the cameraman needed to step back a little so we could take a look at his pants and shoes.
The Dobber makes his first postseason start.
Sweet.

Aaron Campeau - October 5, 2008

JI - October 5, 2008
Even if it was a hair outside, it's still a hell of a pitch.
Aaron Campeau - October 5, 2008
Ok Red Sox, finish them.
Goose - October 5, 2008
I will be so glad when I can go back to hating them.
Aaron Campeau - October 5, 2008
It's been uncomfortable territory the last few days.
BrianL - October 5, 2008
Yes it has.
Goose - October 5, 2008
I will admit that seeing K ROd surrendering a walkoff
would almost be worth another boring sweep
JI - October 5, 2008
The prospects of this happening and you creating a gif to show us the aftermath
is so tantalizing.
BrianL - October 5, 2008
I just want the Angels to lose in the most demoralizing possible fashion.
Aaron Campeau - October 5, 2008
I wouldn't be too upset to see the Red Sox blow a 2-0 kead
JI - October 5, 2008
K-Rod gives up the home run and then dies seconds later from massive rectal bleeding?
BrianL - October 5, 2008
K-Rod getting knocked in the nuts by an Ortiz line drive while Ortiz rounds the bases for an inside-the-park homerun?
Wilder. - October 5, 2008
I don't actually wish death upon him, so yes, this.
Aaron Campeau - October 5, 2008
I'm down with this.
BrianL - October 5, 2008
How about Coco hits a foul ball into the Angels dugout and it hits Vlad and Lackey in the knees managing to tear both of their ACLs, then Coco hits a ball off Torii Hunters head over the wall for a walkoff home run?
Scrupio - October 5, 2008

This would make the entire everything for me.
Aaron Campeau - October 5, 2008

that since it’s a tough HR park against RHBs, you can go after them more so than you might and not have to worry so much about surrendering a season ending HR

God extra innings at Enron are terrifying
JI - October 5, 2008

I forget what they call it in Houston.
Wilder. - October 5, 2008

the away team doesn’t
Also, wasn’t extras.

BrianL - October 5, 2008
Pinch run for Ortiz.

What the hell Francona?
Goose - October 5, 2008
Not worth it
JI - October 5, 2008
If it's hit to left, you probably can't score to begin with
JI - October 5, 2008
Why in God's name is Ortiz still running?
Aaron Campeau - October 5, 2008
Leighton Meester
Aaron Campeau - October 5, 2008
Pinch running is overrated
JI - October 5, 2008
Ortiz is painfully slow.
Aaron Campeau - October 5, 2008
But he would provide a wonderful collision at the plate!
Wilder. - October 5, 2008
Obviously
but Youk, Bat, Lowell are all extra base guys
JI - October 5, 2008
Not that pinch running is a horrible idea
but I’m playing devil advocate and I can see why Francona is doing this.
JI - October 5, 2008
Y'know, Francona's good enough that he's probably right.
Aaron Campeau - October 5, 2008
I did like how he ran for Lowell
JI - October 5, 2008
How well did Assface play at third during the last game?
BrianL - October 5, 2008
See my comments about him being like Spiezio
JI - October 5, 2008
Ouch.
BrianL - October 5, 2008
Yesyesyes pinch run for Ortiz now.
BrianL - October 5, 2008
DAMMIT
BrianL - October 5, 2008
Manny would have crushed that.
Jason Bay is terrible.

Yowsers
Aaron Campeau - October 5, 2008
Nice try Lowell, but you went.
Goose - October 5, 2008
Are the fans mocking K-Rod?

It sounds like they're chanting Gay Rod
Aaron Campeau - October 5, 2008
Hilarious.
BrianL - October 5, 2008
I want them to pick it up again.
And louder.
Wilder. - October 5, 2008
Ortiz should steal 3rd
MFAN - October 5, 2008

What a close pitch.
Wilder. - October 5, 2008
hahahahahahaha
ThundaPC - October 5, 2008
Hot damn here we go.
And that was ball 4 Scocia, you whiny bitch.
Goose - October 5, 2008
Watching HH is so fun right now
Fett42 - October 5, 2008
I think I might enjoy it more if K-Rod walks in the winning run
rather than allowing a hit.
BrianL - October 5, 2008
I want K-Rod to hit a batter to end their season.
Goose - October 5, 2008
wild pitch to end the series...would be awesome
MFAN - October 5, 2008
SQUEEZE
Aaron Campeau - October 5, 2008
It was close, but I say that's a ball.
Throw 14 fewer pitches in the dirt and you wouldn’t have to worry about it, you dick.
Teej - October 5, 2008
Ball 1
Goose - October 5, 2008
Okay, well I want to see Ortiz steal home.
Wilder. - October 5, 2008

Ball 2
Goose - October 5, 2008

What a game!
JI - October 5, 2008
Today is shaping up to be the worst day ever.
BrianL - October 5, 2008
A game 5 between these fuckwitzes would have potential.
JI - October 5, 2008
Oh good heavens that would be terrible.
BrianL - October 5, 2008
Why?
I want them to play out the string, they’re in bad health. It’s exciting and good for the Rays.
JI - October 5, 2008
I couldn't bear to have to root for the Red Sox any longer than I have to.
BrianL - October 5, 2008
Root for the Angels
JI - October 5, 2008
...what?
BrianL - October 5, 2008
I already switched sides
JI - October 5, 2008
I just can't do it.
BrianL - October 5, 2008
Angels fans don't suffer as much.
Aaron Campeau - October 5, 2008
Well, losing game five might be a little more excruciating.
BrianL - October 5, 2008
If the lose in ng5 they suffer more
JI - October 5, 2008
what
JI - October 5, 2008
Nah, getting swept sucks
Aaron Campeau - October 5, 2008
Just ask the Cubs.
Wilder. - October 5, 2008
But being resigned to their fate and false hope
JI - October 5, 2008
Eh maybe.
I’d rather lose in five than get swept.
Aaron Campeau - October 5, 2008
When I thought the Cards were going to lose game 7 it was more excrucaiting then when they got swept in the WS
There’s no comparison.

Robert - October 5, 2008
11
Blicks - October 5, 2008
T11
PLU Tim - October 5, 2008
For cripes sake are the Angels refusing to go away or the Red Sox not wanting the sweep?
chinn - October 5, 2008
Oh calm down you slack jawed yokel.
Aaron Campeau - October 5, 2008
Gary Matthews is the anti-clutch.

BrianL - October 5, 2008
End! End!

Jered Weaver in
Fail.
ThundaPC - October 5, 2008
...
Aaron Campeau - October 5, 2008
Haha, yes!
Wilder. - October 5, 2008
They look exactly fucking alike from behind.
Aaron Campeau - October 5, 2008
Not only do they look alike, but there is another connection here.
He got his paddle beating after that game and now Weaver is going to get his.
Wilder. - October 5, 2008
This should be excellent.
JI - October 5, 2008
WTF, the radio broadcast keeps cutting out.
dpseadv - October 5, 2008
Wow, I completely forgot Jered Weaver existed.
Goose - October 5, 2008
So maybe we should hope the Angels win.
I now want to see K-Rod blow the series.
Wilder. - October 5, 2008
My new preference is for Hunter to drop a ball over the fence.
Aaron Campeau - October 5, 2008
I am down with this.
As long as he catches the ball and then slams into the fence breaking his leg and the ball goes flying out of his glove.
Wilder. - October 5, 2008
Would be better.
Aaron Campeau - October 5, 2008
So I know Weaver's not all that good, but why isn't he in the postseason rotation?
He’s better than Saunders, at least.
Teej - October 5, 2008
That was a piss poor at bat.
JI - October 5, 2008
God Weaver is butt ugly
chinn - October 5, 2008

Not a strike
JI - October 5, 2008

JI - October 5, 2008
Not a strike.
Teej - October 5, 2008
Gameday said it was right down the pipe
JI - October 5, 2008
I'm not buying it.
Aaron Campeau - October 5, 2008
I'm looking at GameDay and it has it way outside.
Teej - October 5, 2008
#3?
JI - October 5, 2008
#4.
dpseadv - October 5, 2008
No. 4.
Teej - October 5, 2008
#3 looked like it was almost in the dirt to me.
JI - October 5, 2008
This is what I have.
Teej - October 5, 2008
Servers are based in LA.
I smell a conspiracy.
Wilder. - October 5, 2008
WOW not a strike or even close to being a strike
Aaron Campeau - October 5, 2008
Why do I "know" Pedroia is going to come through for Boston at some point?
Aaron Campeau - October 5, 2008
Okay, now this has to go the 12th.
If Pedroia has a walkoff hit, I will be so pissed.
Wilder. - October 5, 2008
Jered Weaver pitching now?
Slurvey - October 5, 2008
That's a great steal.
JI - October 5, 2008
This will seal Pedoria's MVP vote.
Goose - October 5, 2008
[cuts self]
Wilder. - October 5, 2008
Vote's already in.
JI - October 5, 2008
M-V-P! M-V-P!
Graham MacAree - October 5, 2008
I don’t have TV. What is Ped-roid-a doing?
chinn - October 5, 2008
What the hell
Graham MacAree - October 5, 2008
Making an out.
Goose - October 5, 2008
I'm unsure how I feel about this.
Garces - October 5, 2008

Aaron Campeau - October 5, 2008
That font has steroids.

Aaron Campeau - October 5, 2008
I don't see the whatever it is
JI - October 5, 2008
I am seeing if this works.
I don’t have TV. What is Ped-roid-a doing?
Wilder. - October 5, 2008
I don't understand how it happened.
Aaron Campeau - October 5, 2008
It's a big row of rectangles.
JI - October 5, 2008
Different font in the header.
Aaron Campeau - October 5, 2008
I still don't see anyting but rectangles.
JI - October 5, 2008
How the hell do you do that to your header font?
dpseadv - October 5, 2008
I'm still so confused.
Aaron Campeau - October 5, 2008
I'm curious as hell, but i'm not about to start littering this place with experiments.
dpseadv - October 5, 2008
The typeface is different in the page source too.
Aaron Campeau - October 5, 2008
Now you're just talking technical mumbo jumbo.
I’ll be dorking around half the night trying to figure this out.
dpseadv - October 5, 2008
Ah, page source, got it now. Still have no idea how he did that.
dpseadv - October 5, 2008
And I love how nobody answered your question.

Teach me your black magic
Robert - October 5, 2008
You are not ready.
BrianL - October 5, 2008
P.E.D.oria also accomplishes the same thing as you were going for without having to resort to simple magic tricks to make up for a lousy pun
Robert - October 5, 2008
P.E.D.roia works even better
Graham MacAree - October 5, 2008
Do hyphens not show up in the headers or something?
Teej - October 5, 2008
Nice work. Good commenters know how to manufacture a pun.
Teej - October 5, 2008
Bahaha
Aaron Campeau - October 5, 2008
This is everything I hoped extras would be and more.
JI - October 5, 2008
Too bad both of these teams can't lose
Scrupio - October 5, 2008
Yes
JI - October 5, 2008
So Weaver survived the LHB portion of the lineup...
JI - October 5, 2008
Considering the rest of the Sox bullpen
I am tempted to say advantage Angels
JI - October 5, 2008
And holly balls
the Red Sox are starting Garland over Weaver?
JI - October 5, 2008
Bahahahaha
BrianL - October 5, 2008
It gives them a better matchup today
…
JI - October 5, 2008
If I were the Red Sox I would prefer that, too.
Teej - October 5, 2008
Actually scratch that
because of all the faggoty days off the Angels can bring Santana back on normal rest.
JI - October 5, 2008
God this schedule is dumb
JI - October 5, 2008
That was a retarded situation to bunt it.
JI - October 5, 2008
According to the asshat on the radio he's a better bunter than a hitter.
My god, Dave Niehaus deserves a post season. These guys are killing me.

Well, balls.
ThundaPC - October 5, 2008
Darn...
Slurvey - October 5, 2008
Wheeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!
JI - October 5, 2008
I hate that word "manufactured."
Wilder. - October 5, 2008
Did they not get the note it was outsourced like every other thing manufactured around here?
Scrupio - October 5, 2008
You would think the Angels would know this considering LA is the biggest port city in America.
Wilder. - October 5, 2008
It's like, baseball wasn't working for us. So we manufactured a run instead.
I’m with you, dumb phrase.
dpseadv - October 5, 2008
Heh
that’s a good way of putting it
JI - October 5, 2008
Perfect.
Wilder. - October 5, 2008
Isn't there a way Scioscia can bend the rules to bring Frankie back in the bottom of the 12th to blow the game again?
esoteric - October 5, 2008
Announcers credit the Angels with manufacturing a run.
How’d that strategy work the first two games? FUCK SHUT UP.
Teej - October 5, 2008
One could argue the most effiecent way to manufacture a run is to hit a homer
JI - October 5, 2008
Seems like the two teams that have tried hardest to manufacture runs so far this postseason are the Angels and the Cubs.
Teej - October 5, 2008
They didn't have all of the materials to manufacture those runs in those games.
Wilder. - October 5, 2008
5 hour mark huh?
JI - October 5, 2008
I want to stab myself.
Teej - October 5, 2008
DON'T DO IT!!!
Scrupio - October 5, 2008
DO IT! I MEAN DON'T!
Slurvey - October 5, 2008
YES YES YES
Doubleheader tomorrow!
JI - October 5, 2008
Wait what?
BrianL - October 5, 2008
Rays + Halos
JI - October 5, 2008
Ah.
That could be marvelous.
BrianL - October 5, 2008
Not a strike
JI - October 5, 2008
Now you pinch run Ortiz.
Wilder. - October 5, 2008
Or maybe not.
Casey the only one available.
Wilder. - October 5, 2008
Must be fun to count on Jered Weaver to close.
ThundaPC - October 5, 2008
NOW I pinch run
send out pitcher
JI - October 5, 2008
If only we traded them Washburn.
Sigh.
Wilder. - October 5, 2008
How slow can Dice-K be?
JI - October 5, 2008
He was manufactured in Japan.
Wilder. - October 5, 2008
As much as it pains me to see Ortiz miss pitches he used to crush, the guy can still walk like a bastard.
Teej - October 5, 2008
Alone and without a father?
Robert - October 5, 2008
way to be stupid robert
Robert - October 5, 2008
Ortiz was running.
Goose - October 5, 2008
Excellent
JI - October 5, 2008
That sounded almost awesome on the radio
Robert - October 5, 2008
Hey, is your radio broadcast cutting out for a few seconds every now and then?
dpseadv - October 5, 2008
Yeah but I'm used to it
happens all the time with AM at night
Robert - October 5, 2008
I haven't heard a chop like this since I was a kid messing around with an old tube radio.
dpseadv - October 5, 2008
My favorite is the nights I cant get KJR but Anchorage stations come in crystal clear
Robert - October 5, 2008
If I were a Halo fan my heart would explode
JI - October 5, 2008
Goddamit, radio is cutting out again. Right when the guy makes a home run call on that long out.
dpseadv - October 5, 2008
Not a strike.
Goose - October 5, 2008
Game day liked it.
JI - October 5, 2008
Walkoff you mofos
Robert - October 5, 2008
With Alex Cora at the plate?
Goose - October 5, 2008
No TV >:(
Robert - October 5, 2008
What a pitch
JI - October 5, 2008
And it all comes down to Alex Cora.
:-/
Wilder. - October 5, 2008
Goddamnit.
Goose - October 5, 2008
Yowsers nice play.
Aaron Campeau - October 5, 2008
YES YES YES WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
GO ANGELS
JI - October 5, 2008
Way to manufacture a win, LA.
Wilder. - October 5, 2008
The Angels did everything they could to lose yet they did not lose.
JI - October 5, 2008
Blowing a 2-0 lead would be crazy delicious
Robert - October 5, 2008
I'm disappointed in Sager's outfit.
Aaron Campeau - October 5, 2008
I don't know.
That psychedelic tie went nicely with those bold, colorful stripes. Maybe the cameraman needed to step back a little so we could take a look at his pants and shoes.
Wilder. - October 5, 2008
Fuck
Combs - October 5, 2008
Longest game in ALDS history.
God, that was boring.
ThundaPC - October 5, 2008
I was on the edge of my seat for the last 7 innings or so.
