With Raul Ibanez on first in the bottom of the fifth, Richie Sexson swung at an inside fastball at the letters and popped it up about ten feet down the third base line. Several Padres gathered underneath, but none were able to make the catch, as the ball bounced out of a glove that Josh Bard extended at the last possible moment. The Padres looked around all confused-like, but the same could be said of Ibanez, and when the Padres finally realized what was going on they were able to throw Ibanez out at second by a mile.
These teams are bad.

Jose Lopez's at bat against Trevor Hoffman in the ninth was as bad an at bat as I've seen in a long, long time.

Matthew - May 17, 2008

JI - May 17, 2008

Robert - May 17, 2008
I'm starting to think everyone should weild admin power over Coach.
JI - May 17, 2008
I haven't read it yet but I feel like someone should get banned
We’ll see who.
Jeff Sullivan - May 17, 2008
I read it a bit
I’m not sure it was as over-the-line as it was bleh in quality.
Gomez - May 17, 2008
The latter
Just like 4 people there, talking about anything to avoid the game at hand.
qrsouther - May 17, 2008
His name starts with a C
And Brian, I believe, “slammed [his] mom last night.”
qrsouther - May 17, 2008
Wasn't me.
Someone else had that gem of a comment.
BrianL - May 17, 2008
Seriously??
Faux?
qrsouther - May 17, 2008
Not sure, but it wasn't me.
I tend to leave those comments to the more seasoned LL veterans.
BrianL - May 17, 2008
It was borgy.
Well done my friend.
qrsouther - May 18, 2008
I see how it is.
Throw me under the bus, why don’t ya?
Faux - May 17, 2008
Let me guess. It'll be me.
Coach Owens - May 17, 2008
I feel I should stick up for everyone.
Nothing really heinous occurred, CO only had a mild meltdown(that ended quickly), and nothing too damaging got said. I feel it was pretty good for a game no one wanted to watch, and only 4 people were present for in the GT.
Faux - May 17, 2008
It wasnt offensive
It was just really really really dumb
Robert - May 17, 2008
Did you see the game?
Which was worse?
Faux - May 17, 2008
I was both drunk and bored
Which is never a good combination. Sorry if I was a dick to anyone, looking at it now it doesn’t seem too over the line, it was just really stupid.
OlSalty - May 17, 2008
You didnt do anything wrong
Robert - May 17, 2008
You were here?
qrsouther - May 18, 2008
After reading it I've changed my mind
Jeff Sullivan - May 17, 2008
?
this could be a dumb question but wouldn’t the infield fly rule come into play there? Shouldn’t Sexson be called out whether or not the ball is dropped?
Snuffleupagus - May 17, 2008
not if Raul was the only man on base at 1st.
PShwa - May 17, 2008
This game was so like 2005
The Mariners were trailing and, by the 7th, you just knew they were going to lose.
Whatever, M’s lose.
Gomez - May 17, 2008
You mean the 1st.
ThundaPC - May 17, 2008
I like to give them a few innings to confirm their doom
Gomez - May 17, 2008
You mean like 2008.
Wilder. - May 17, 2008
OT-Hamilton
Umm Jeff, after going to last nights Rangers-Houston game i conceed that Hamilton is the best postion player in the AL West….
Maybe a list like
Hamilton, Ichiro, Vlad, Young, Hunter, after that i dont know…
Might be a fun exercise.
Cant wait for Seattle to playTexas again to come and talk with you guys some more. And please pound on SD for me…
laxtonto - May 17, 2008
Young isn't even in the top 15
BrettJMiller - May 17, 2008
By just using VORP data so far this season for the AL West
Hamilton 20.2
Bradley 15.5
Kinsler 13.7
Raul Ibanez 13.5
Kotchman 11.5
Young 10.6
Hunter 9.8
Kendrick 9.6
Murphy 8.6
Chone Figgins 8.5
Ichiro Suzuki 8.4
Jose Lopez 7.5
Thats out of the top 90 players in VORP according to BP. Just seems odd with me to see no Vlad
laxtonto - May 17, 2008
Defence matters
Graham MacAree - May 17, 2008
So duz spellign.
qrsouther - May 18, 2008
He's British
he didn’t spell incorrectly.
CapSea - May 18, 2008
This was such an awful game. I can't believe 35-36,000 showed up to watch these teams.
I think when Batista said he “figured it out” i think he didnt mean figured out how to succeed i think he meant figured out he is done.
ASUBoyd - May 17, 2008
They didn't show up to watch these teams.
Hello J.J. Putz Bobblehead giveaway!
I’m sure the weather helped a little, too.
PositivePaul - May 17, 2008
Even though the Rays lost, those of us who participated in the DRaysBay invasion saw a thrilling game.
Our game here in Seattle is going to be an enormous letdown.
BrianL - May 17, 2008
Good day of tomfoolery and hijinx.
R.J. Anderson - May 17, 2008
which is why I plan on avoiding it
