New rule (or should I say, newly-enforced rule): diaries are to contain a minimum of 75 legitimate words. That setting is there for a reason. Thinking up 75 words about a given topic is easy. If you can't think of 75 words to say about your own topic, either (A) you're stupid, or (B) the topic clearly isn't very interesting, in which case it isn't worth sharing with the community.
How will this be enforced? For the first violation, you will get a warning. For the second violation, your post will be deleted. And for the third violation, you're gone. For good.
Exceptions will be granted for major important Mariner-related breaking news, since everybody likes to be the one to break a story, but such instances are few and far between, and if you're unsure, err on the side of caution. The consequences of being wrong are rather unpleasant.

That could easily be part of the code.
Set up a checkbox, default to can’t post. Takes out the link to the image insertion and strips out the img tag from the submitted text. They already strip out flash embedding, an img tag isn’t much harder.
After a month, or an admin checks the box, the tags are no longer stripped, and the img button shows up on the bar.
I’ve made that piece of code for a couple message boards.
