Which of these pitchers would you prefer? Their identities revealed after the jump. Seriously though, I urge you to take a second or twelve and put those five pitchers in order of preference. It makes the revelation more fun.

I was at

D, B, C, E, A

Which is a sort of respectable order… At least I had Ho last

D, A, B, C, E

How utterly horrific.

What order were we supposed to get?
Is there really a "correct" answer?
DABCE

And now I just want to cry. Thanks Matthew…

Wait until later today.
For the game?

Or do you have more horrifying things for me to see?

Something more horrifying than this shit-ass excuse for a team trying to beat a very beatable Yankees team?

I find that hard to believe. Can you tell that I am in the “Anger” stage of dealing with the 2008 season?

A, D, C, E, B + Rays Defense

HoRam 4 Cy Young.

Is it okay that I wanted none of them?
D, C, A, B, E

Wow, what a pile of garbage.

D, A, B, C, E

Go Horacio Ramirez!

D,A,B,C,E

I think I need to take up heroin.

D, A, E, C, B
What we have learned from this:

LL’ers do not really recognise that walks are worse than fly balls

I keyed on Ball% and GB%

docking pitcher B for his relatively high LD%

Ignoring strikeouts?
Not quite

My top guy was so in fact because of his good Swing% coupled with relatively better ratios elsewhere, but since K’s only account for a handful of outs, I gave precedence to the other factors.

Ks are 25% of all outs.
So 75% of outs come from balls in play
How does Ball% translate to BB%?

Also how does Swinging% translate to K%?

Pretty well. I'm pretty sure I listed the numbers in some of the past articles I wrote concerning pitching

but not only to they correlate pretty well with Ks and BBs they’re far more stable year over year and are generally leading variables if you’re familiar with the economic term.

D, C, A, E, B
