All right, all the video game nerds in the building . . .
I’m going to buy either Burnout Paradise or Devil May Cry 4 for like $15. Which do I choose? Or both?
I played the Burnout demo and was annoyed as fuck by having to actually follow street signs in the middle of the race and all that, but I might get used to it, I guess. Anyway, let me know if you have any opinions. I’m on the fence.
LFOJL may be referring to the game mode where all you do is crash into a shit-ton of moving vehicles. That was awesome, and yeah, I believe that part has been removed.
And I wish they found a way to use custom soundtracks as a radio station, again. I hate having my music play when im running around exploring. Takes away from the vibe of the city.
GTA4’s physics are beyong amazing. The cars can be totaled just as good as you see in the Burnout series, and running over people has never been more fun. Ran someone head on and they might fly through the windshield.
The story is really good, and a tad more realistic. Wanted system takes some getting used to.
The downside is simply put…when you get 100%, there isnt much left. Hopefully downloadable content adds more games, stores etc. Oh, and the Sanchez isnt as wicked awesome as it was.
Bowling is ok. Pool is more of a cheatfest on their part. And if you lose one game of darts, you should be smacked.
Only 3 clothing stores in the game. Cant get tattoos, hairstyles, customize cars, off track betting, gambling, or BUY safe houses.
Its a great game, the Crash mode sucks though. The ‘playground’ is huge, though while there are a ton of ramps, there aren’t as many wicked ones as you would expect. The game is more forgiving than Revenge. When you move up a license, the events you beat are available to use again towards your progress. Memorizing the streets is not really needed. You can take virtually any route you want to win a race. The cars are interesting, and taking down a car you unlock is pretty cool. Online is a blast—-its the only game I have ever played online, but still…the damage effects are stellar.
It depends. If you want a sandbox game with options and creativity, go with Burnout Paradise. Its a great game on its own, but I prefer the previous two more. The crash mode is just completely fucked up now. As for DMC4…never played it, but if you want a story…obviously, it would be the right choice.
It is going to be difficult. It is going to be hard at times. We will lose faith. We can not fail at this; if we are ever going to the post season again!
Some people will bash Wlad being sent down instead of a Vidro/Sexson DFA
but I think this is the right move. Wlad clearly has issues he needs to hammer out at Tacoma, and Clement is ready. Furthermore, the team would need to scour the FA market and waiver wires before DFAing Sexson.
That poor man is a few french fries short of a happy meal.
I remember someone brought up this year’s Prospect Insider Handbook (I think it was Adam) and Logie launched into an absolutely hilarious tirade against Churchill.
The Lee Pelekoudas era is looking much like the Bill Bavasi era to start off. Seattle goes down to a 6-1 defeat at the hands of the Florida Marlins. That’s just 17 runs scored in seven games under new hitting coach Lee Elia. Maybe one of you wants to give it a try?

Why would the D-rays guys broadcast a Marlins game?

All right, all the video game nerds in the building . . .
I’m going to buy either Burnout Paradise or Devil May Cry 4 for like $15. Which do I choose? Or both?
I played the Burnout demo and was annoyed as fuck by having to actually follow street signs in the middle of the race and all that, but I might get used to it, I guess. Anyway, let me know if you have any opinions. I’m on the fence.
Teej - June 16, 2008
Neither.

BrianL - June 16, 2008
Yeah, dude's awesome. But for $15, I'm buying at least one of these games.
Teej - June 16, 2008
I didn't like either game, to be honest.
BrianL - June 16, 2008

BrianL - June 16, 2008

Therefore, DMC4.
JLC - June 16, 2008
Burnout's fun in the same way GTA4 is fun:
short bursts of extreme
Last Fan Of Jose Lopez - June 16, 2008
Also the crash part was the best part of burnout and they removed it
Last Fan Of Jose Lopez - June 16, 2008
They removed the crashes from Burnout?
Instant fail.
joof - June 16, 2008
Nah, this Burnout has crashes in it.
LFOJL may be referring to the game mode where all you do is crash into a shit-ton of moving vehicles. That was awesome, and yeah, I believe that part has been removed.
Teej - June 16, 2008
Yeah that's what I meant
Last Fan Of Jose Lopez - June 16, 2008
Thats what I was talking about, and that bullshit.
Burnout now sucks, as proclaimed by me.
joof - June 16, 2008
How is GTA4? I haven't played it yet.
houseofprime - June 16, 2008
Awesomw if you can stand the repetitive mini-games
JMB - June 16, 2008

JMB - June 16, 2008
I thought it was alright
Not the messiah game everyone says it is
Last Fan Of Jose Lopez - June 16, 2008
It's every other GTA game, but a bit darker.
So . . . in my opinion . . . it’s pretty damn sweet.
Teej - June 16, 2008
Great on its own.
But San Andreas had WAY more to do.
Slica - June 16, 2008
Seeing how long I could last on 5 stars was one of my favorite things to do in the GTA games.
houseofprime - June 16, 2008
Its hard to stay alive to even get 5 stars.
Unless you camp somewhere, rack up the wanted level and then take off running.
Ive lasted over 10 mins with a 6 star level on this one, though. Just need to dodge helicopters and keep moving.
Slica - June 16, 2008
There's more "replayabilityness" to be had in Burnout: Paradise
DMC 4 is more of a rental.
Frosty Raptor - June 16, 2008
They're 15 bucks for a reason though
They both really suck.
OlSalty - June 16, 2008
Paradise is pretty cool
Frosty Raptor - June 16, 2008
They both got pretty good reviews, though.
I’ve played both demos, and they seem pretty solid.
Teej - June 16, 2008
Burnout Paradise I can speak for
Its a great game, the Crash mode sucks though.

Churchill seems to believe that Jeff Clement has been recalled from AAA Tacoma.
Tacoma play-by-play man Mike Curto reports that Clement received a phone call prior to the game and was promptly scratched from the lineup.
BrianL - June 16, 2008
And FSN confirms.
Wlad is back to Tacoma, Clement recalled.
BrianL - June 16, 2008
Smart move has confused user confused.
JI - June 16, 2008
Some people will bash Wlad being sent down instead of a Vidro/Sexson DFA
but I think this is the right move. Wlad clearly has issues he needs to hammer out at Tacoma, and Clement is ready. Furthermore, the team would need to scour the FA market and waiver wires before DFAing Sexson.
