More Ichiro Goodness

In Scott Miller's piece that presented the Larson and Gillick rumor, he also argues that trading Ichiro would help re-tool the Mariners. Well, duh Scott. Anyways, asked about it, Ichiro responded (emphasis mine):

"I haven't heard that, but what I think about it is that when things are not going well, many people have different ideas, and that's only natural. If a crow has thought it, it would surprise me. But since it's human beings, it does not surprise me."

And about the package the Mariners might get in return?

"All those younger prospects people talk about, I'd probably have more youthful movements than them," he said, smiling. "The way I move probably would be younger."

Awesome and true.

I love you so much, Ichiro.
From now on, I will think to myself that if a crow thinks it, I should be surprised, but nothing humans do shall surprise me.
Only starting now? Come on, this stuff has been common knowledge for a while
Excellent.
I'm 99% sure that Ichiro is actually a 500 year old wise man
But with more youthful movements.
He probably drink green tea.
Like the "good" version of Dan Halen from Squidbillies?
How would a crow communicate said thought?

Seems that would be the more impressive phenomenon.

It would also not surprise me if Ichiro could communicate with birds.
He should do interviews in bird
ravens have a pretty evolved language

that consists of squawks of varying length and pitch combined with movement and gesture. Some of these birds give a better interview than a major league Ace-that-will-put-this-team-into-contention™.

Ravens are awesome.
they can also make tools

although this is restricted to a small number of smarter birds. Not that ravens are my spirit animal or anything. Wolves are.

Just don't shoot up their limos.
The coolest thing I have ever seen a crow do

is take an acorn to the top of a stoplight, wait until the light changed, drop it exactly in the right spot for a car to roll over, wait for the light to change again, and swoop down and pick out the nut. It did it like ten times, it was amazing.

That crow was smarter than 90% of humans.
You might need a statistical analysis of that percentage.

I’d say more like 95%.

A crow intentionally tried to poop on me.

I was walking to the bus stop when I was in eight grade. The crow was sitting on a street light. He saw me cross the street, so he flew to a street light on the same side of the street as me. I had a bad feeling about it, so I gave the street light a wide berth, and I heard a splat behind me. I turned around and looked and there was fresh crow shit on the ground.

I also saw a murder of crows playing games by rolling freshly fallen apples down a steep street.

All this crow talk is making me uncomfortable.

But they seen an elephant fly...
Except when they copy the Seahawks and train a bird to fly around the stadium before the game.
That would just be elitist.
That's only because you're not Ichiro.
wow that was a first
and now I'm confused
Just to set the record straight

I am not personally oppossed to trading Ichiro or any player, provided the M’s receive sufficient value in return. But the current ownership would never allow it.

New ownership, however….

Lets not talk about that in here

and instead just bask in Ichiro’s awesomeness.

There are other black hole threads people can go to for trade diarrhea.

That's totally fine

Just wanted to clear it up.

Awesome. Ichiro, please never leave us.

I didn’t see that article, thanks for the link Matthew!

Of course the article itself is no good, just the quotes!
