I remember what happened down the stretch in 91, 92, 93, but I have no memories of anything past mid-July in 1994. God bless my brain for blocking out that trauma.

Not a whole lot happened from Mid July to the end of the season.

The strike started on August 12th.

I remember watching a Griffey highlight reel in the Kingdome (for some reason)

and seeing clips of him kicking ass in 1994, and thinking “I don’t remember any of this…”

Young Fresh Fellow's "Dark Corner of the World"

was worth the price of admission alone. The alternate version of “Julie Francavilla” is better than the album one, as far as I’m concerned.

I always forget that these pictures aren't as old as I think they are.

Nope.

They say if you have to ask the price you can’t afford it, but I already understand that so I’m going to. But without having done so, yet, I’d guess that this photo would probably sell for at least the salary of the MLB minimum player:

Only 8 of them were printed. Ever.

Of course, as of right now per wiki, a sale of the “Moonrise, Hernandez” photo original has been the highest of any Ansel print. And that was for less than $1 million, amazingly. I’m fairly certain, though, that while it’s one of Ansel’s more popular images, his 1930s stuff that doesn’t get that much attention is right up there in value.

For right now I think I'll have to settle for replicas.

Anyone who says that they don’t photoshop their photos and gives the reason that “Ansel never would’ve used Photoshop!” doesn’t know the story behind this photo:

Anyway—I believe this is the shot of the foothills where it’s a tradition of either high schoolers or college kids to go and scratch graffiti into the mountain. He took the photo anyway, and had his retouchers edit out the words that were written on that mountain. I can’t remember if he touched up the negative, too, or what. It’s something like that, though…

Here’s a larger copy of this shot, but I’m not sure it’s a good enough scan to see if you can tell where the touch-up work is. But in one copy of this that I’ve seen, you can definitely tell…
