(A) Carlos Silva tried to pitch through pain and got his ass kicked. Pitching through pain is incredibly stupid. Therefore, Carlos Silva is incredibly stupid.
(B) Carlos Silva was healthy and sucked. Therefore, Carlos Silva sucks.

C: Someone slipped acid into my beer.
I wake up a week from now, naked and in the middle of the desert, and get in to town just in time to see Cha Seung Baek best Erik Bedard in a 1-0 pitcher’s duel, with Adam Jones crushing the game deciding HR in the 9th.
Meanwhile, Carlos Silva gets shelled and the Angels lose 11-1 to the Jarrod Washburn led Yankees.
Aaron Campeau - July 29, 2008
At least we don't have to worry about the bonuses
dbroncos31 - July 29, 2008
When did Carlos Silva become such a fucking retard?
Gomez - July 29, 2008
He gets a suite on the road?
Unbelievable. I didn’t know baseball players had riders in their contracts like rock stars do. Next you’re going to tell me they pick out the green M&M’s for him and cut the crusts off of his peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
ryanhealy - July 29, 2008
Peanut butter and chorizo sandwiches
But yeah.
Gomez - July 29, 2008
Like Silva would want anything to do with a contract that robs him of chocolate.
Jeff Sullivan - July 29, 2008
No chocolate fountain clause?
Fuck you Vazquez
seamariners85 - July 29, 2008
Hell...
That’s maybe $200 a night (teams may get a deal, so maybe $150 or even $100). But assume it’s $200 for ever road game and that’s a grand total of $16,200 Even if you assume $800 a suite it’s almost exactly what we’re expecting to pay him…per inning. If he’s healthy. This is based upon innings pitched for the last our years and an average pay of $12m,
Sidi - July 30, 2008
Oh, and on the M&M thing...
Apparently it was designed to force venues to actually read the contract. With stage shows needing massively higher power draws, and using much more massive stage shows, they used that to test whether people actually checked the contract. It was a safety thing they could fall back on.
If they missed the candy, they probably missed the fact you needed 500 amps and a stage that can support a 5,000 pound Eddie.
Sidi - July 30, 2008
This Eddie?
Goose - July 30, 2008
Of course not...
That Eddie was obviously supported primarily from above. It was the later later ones (before it became simply a costume) that would be a weight concern for the stage.
Sidi - July 30, 2008
5,000 pound Eddie

All I'm saying is the LL readership is large and weird enough that one of you must be a trained assassin...
That’s all I’m saying…
SethGrandpa - July 29, 2008
Assassin school dropout, sorry
Gomez - July 29, 2008
I flunked out
because I kept killing random hobos instead of assigned targets.
pdb - July 29, 2008
I went to the same school as Martin Q Blank
Kirsten Schlewitz - July 30, 2008
I kept showing up to exams drunk and killing birds instead
Gomez - July 30, 2008
I played Assassin's Creed once.

Not as good as his splitter.
Matthew - July 29, 2008
That new grip is doing wonders.
BrianL - July 29, 2008
Carlos SilvK thre 60% strikes
He struck out one, only gave up one home run.
Clearly they should have let him pitch the whole 9.
He would have gotten the run support if MVidroP was in there.
Berf Lafette - July 29, 2008
Nope
katal - July 29, 2008
Oh my god we have him for three and a third more years
Nick S - July 29, 2008

I am not able to legally drink beer in this country for two of those years
Nick S - July 29, 2008
...sniff pixie stix?
BrianL - July 29, 2008
If I'm watching a Silva start, anything and everything will be considered
Nick S - July 29, 2008
Don't worry too much...
There may come a time in your life when you’re married with kids. You’ll face a choice, beer and staying up playing around in the internet…or sex…
And the beer will win, even if it’s been days. Just a friendly warning.
Sidi - July 30, 2008
LLLJ
Aaron Campeau - July 30, 2008
This too will pass...
It least he’s not Zito or Dontrelle. Surely he can’t continue to be this bad forever, can he?
Edanger6 - July 29, 2008
I don't see why not.
