Those eight runs, five line drives, and four extra-base hits against a tight division rival - they could've been all yours, Minnesota. For the low low price of an established, effective young Major League starter, you could've added Washburn's veteran stability and leadership to your rotation days ago. Instead you'll now have to plow along with a rotation unstable and unled, the whole time wondering what might've been had you not been so excessively penurious. Don't come crying to me when your laughable, unproven sham of a starting staff collapses down the stretch. For neglecting to add a stabilizing force in Jarrod Washburn, you have only yourselves to blame.

I can't imagine how rough it must be on Washburn to know how close he was to joining a successful organization not far from his home. That he's stuck with a go-nowhere loser franchise in Seattle has to be eating him up inside. This pleases me. Karma's a bitch, butthead.

If there is a God, both the existence of Horacio Ramirez and the fact that Horacio Ramirez closed the Mariners out tonight can be taken as proof that he has a sense of humor, if a slightly annoying one. It would take a rather absurd degree of micromanagement on the part of a higher power to make sure that things work out this way, but then I imagine God probably gets pretty bored sometimes. Life can be dull when you don't have any friends.

When I saw that the White Sox had brought in Ho to close it out against us, I just figured it was Ozzie Guillen's way of taunting us.

Let’s be honest: well played, Ozzie, well played. Tip of the cap to you there.

On an unrelated note, dare I ask what prompted Graham’s public service announcement? And what is worse than banning? I’m curious about the tortures the mods may have come up with.

Being forced to read Geoff Baker's blog every day.

And having to try to reason with the unwashed hordes that comment there.

Reading HH would be worse.

Or the MLB.com forum.

Watching the Marin.....

oh wait

No one can answer what happened without mentioning and/or discussing the subject, which is why comments were likely closed.

Comprehensive list of things worse than banning:
- Elephantiasis
- Boy band music
- Furry Gifs
- Sh*t list of Mods
- Unrelenting MSPaint Mockery
- Whatever you said posted as a reply to every comment you make until you get frustrated and leave
- Odouls and/or Milwaukee’s Best
- Equestrian Dressage
- Azteca
- Corco-ing your Email address
- Banning and Unbanning at irregular days and times
- Watching the Mariners (credit to craig)
- Most memes
- Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia and Graham.
- ISP hacking
- Flag/Unrec
- Carlos Silva
- Forcing you to convince people on DOV to use tRA in order to get you unbanned
- Candy corn

This is a frightening list.
I like that I know exactly what Graham is talking about and it is worse than these things.
Or...do you.
I think I do actually.
I think JI does too
Probably from personal experience.
Let's just say if RObert ever stole Matthew's phone from him while he was logged in as Matthew he could rule the world.
I think the plan needs to be a little bit more complicated than that
And I thought I was being used as a pawn in this.

Turns out no.

Not if Graham is being truthful.
Oh, you don't even know.
Too bad I'm not stupid.
No, we're actually rather glad you're not stupid

since we like updated tRA standings and such

Too bad Robert is physically unimposing.
Why do you have to ruin Robert's genius plans like this
Is this the same plan where he sticks a fork in my neck?

Except the only fork he had available was plastic?

It could have worked if you were made of fried cod
I thought he had plans for back up forks.
This is better than his Felix daughter plan.
I think that was his best one
Candy corn is delicious, though
Candy corn?

I read that as candy.com – I was about to go check it out.

But I’m afraid it might be porn.

No, just candy.
Wrong. Is disgusting.
Politics just kept coming up again and again in threads, even offhand

It warranted a formal reminder.

Has this been a past week thing or a longer term problem?

If so, I think the Olympics may be partly to blame

Plus people getting more confident about pushing the rules.
I think Graham et al's issue is that it comes up at all

The rule has always been no politics, period.

Yeah, I know

I’m just saying that of all times, this is a particularly difficult time to avoid seeing it come up in some way because of the fact that nearly all of us are following the Olympics at least some and the very nature of the event leans on the political dealings of the nations involved (e.g. all of them)

zomg no religion
We are coming dangerously close to falling too far behind the Nationals to catch up
Also, holy crap at least the Rangers aren't boring

there’s a grand total of one team within 70 runs scored of them and one team within 100 runs allowed of them – they’ve allowed an unfathomable 765 runs already – the next two worst teams are Pittsburgh at 671 and Colorado at 654. I know park factors and all… but they’re in 30th place, 111 runs behind the third worst team!

They're the High Desert Mavs of MLB
It's incredible... they have an outside shot at giving up 1,000 runs

even Tampa with last year’s defense and pitching “only” gave up 944

I think their goal is to score and allow 1000 runs in the same season.
Okay, so the late 90's St Louis Rams of MLB
It pleases you to know he hates being here

But we hate him being here too. I’m sure it cancels out

I'm never going to be happy either way

so we might as well drag Jarrod down with us.

I'd rather have Boof Bonser

I am rather tired of Jarrod’s face

I didn't think it was possible for curmudgeons to be under 50 years old

Way to prove me wrong

The people at the OSU blog didn't like my entry on Jamie Burke because it was too negative
I don't get it.

Web gem!

Or… something.
