Absorption

Apparently, you can learn to hit shutdown closers by watching Miguel Cairo pop out early in the count. Good thing Riggelman knows this and maximized Wladimir Balentien's learning experience in September in this lost season.

Anything to avoid 100 loses

Although Cairo is worse

Are you kidding?

I’m cheering for 100 losses about as hard as I cheer for Felix.

no, that their mindset
Yeah, I haven't seen any of the past 6 or so games

but we certainly appear to be thrashing about in an attempt to avoid the 100/100mill club, to mostly hillarious results.

At this point, 18-24 year old fans should get at bats before Cairo

Using useless players that won’t be here next year at this point is flamingly retarded.

Sorry, Marshall Hubbard!
Sooooo....

If we get swept by the Royals tomorrow we will need to play .600 to avoid losing 100 games.

Our lineup consists of a large combination of players who’ve hit less than 7 homeruns this season.

Wow, this is awesome.

104 is the new magic number
Unfortunately, San Diego is refusing to win as well.
Luckily if we finish with identical records, I believe we still get the first pick.
Yup

SD was 89-74 last year, while we were 88-74.

Hooray for the Cleveland snow-out.

Wow, Mike Hargrove really was a good manager.

Nice to see those managing decisions paying dividends.

You must mean one game playoff
This is the only thing that might make September better.
Maybe we could have several, four way tie for the NL WC, including the NL E champions

and then the White Sox and Twins

Wow, I don't remember the Padres being that good last year? Or the M's being that bad?

I don’t know how to think anymore, smart baseball thoughts make me angry, dumb baseball makes sense of the senseless. Part of me hoped we’d win the division this year, my brain said no yet I didn’t see the worst record in baseball forecast in the magic 8 ball. Maybe next year is better, ask again later.

Like the M's, the Padres had a 2007 in which everything went well

and a 2008 where everything went to hell.
