This is the coolest win expectancy chart ever
joof - September 5, 2008
Boy am I glad they kept him in the pen this year
I also want to find these nameless ‘AL Scout’ types who questioned the m’s moving him to the rotation. If I was as good at my job as you are at yours, I’d probably be arrested.
marc w - September 5, 2008
Haha, remains me of the Lewis Black routine about Al Roker
"I don’t know what’s more nuts…weather or the weathermen. A few years ago here in New York City, we had a blizzard. 36 inches of snow. I guess you Midwesterners would call that a dusting. Well, our weatherman at the time, Al Roker, predicted we’d have 4 – 12 inches of snow. Well, giving him the benefit of the doubt, that stills leaves him 2 feet off. This was an emergency condition. Now if you were a roofer and you built a roof and it was 2 feet off, you’d still be serving time. "
ralphie81 - September 5, 2008
He's staring into my soul
IceStormV1 - September 5, 2008
Ohh, god, his eyes are so dreamy
joof - September 5, 2008
Wow. Timmay who?
Remember when “50%” of the organization was against Morrow starting? Yeah, you guys feel real stupid right now.
dbroncos31 - September 5, 2008
Thank you for brightening my mood after listening to Armstrong today, Brandon.
BrianL - September 5, 2008
Overreaction Fanboy Post #2
ZOMGZ MARINER ROTATION!
MORROW, FELIX, BEDARD, RRS, SILVA
ThundaPC - September 5, 2008
Four of these are being paid much too little, while one is being paid way, way too much.
joof - September 5, 2008
If they're not going to spend money on free agents, I'm completely fine with this.
OlSalty - September 5, 2008
fuck wilson bedimit
Robert - September 5, 2008
Get it out of your system, Robert.
Today’s a day you should be happy.
BrianL - September 5, 2008
So, Jeff, I'm guessing your checklist for Morrow looks pretty good.
BrianL - September 5, 2008
i havent gotten home yet.
did jeff crack a smile?
Robert - September 5, 2008
Point #6 was going to be "throw a no-hitter" but I was in a rush and had to end it
Jeff Sullivan - September 5, 2008
How did Tui look at 3B?
eknpdx - September 5, 2008
Who the hell knows?
Did he even field a ball?
Jeff Sullivan - September 5, 2008
you bet your ass he did!
he also hit a double!
Robert - September 5, 2008
I actually got curious and had to go look
He threw out A-Rod on a grounder in the 4th.
He caught a leadoff popup in the 5th from Giambi
That’s all.
Gomez - September 5, 2008
I don't think anyone was really paying attention
I recall a “nice arm” comment though
Corco - September 5, 2008
He actually looked good, didnt look bad in any at bat, nice opposite field double
and even his fly outs to center, were pretty good swings.
DarkLou - September 5, 2008
This is way late but...
Anyone else hear Niehaus say tui was terrifc at 3rd base? I’m guessing Dave doesn’t have time to catch many Tacoma games…
zeuswsu - September 5, 2008
The radio crew's going to talk up the local boy in his debut
It almost didn’t matter how Tui did today.
Gomez - September 5, 2008
Yeah true..
How do you think Tui will do with more experience at 3rd? does he have potential to be a solid 3rd baseman? That was my first time seeing him play live today
zeuswsu - September 5, 2008
He's perpetually struggled with his defense in the minors
Of course, he’s also only 22 and did get rushed some in the minors. Things could change for the better with some work, but right now he’s Morse-like with his defense, which doesn’t help with a slower Yuni at SS.
Gomez - September 5, 2008
yikes.
Morse-like is about as low as you can go
zeuswsu - September 5, 2008
Morse isn't terrible at third.
He IS terrible in the OF, and should never have even been allowed to experiment in the OF, but he can handle 3rd and 1st pretty respectably.
Tui’s got a ways to go defensively, especially since he’s only recently moved over to third. But he might get there yet. He just needs to remember to WATCH the ball into his glove:
PositivePaul - September 5, 2008
Well yeah, that's what I mean by Morse-like
His glove and physical abilities are okay. His fielding fundamentals needs work. His range… heh… well….
Gomez - September 6, 2008
Hardenesque?
Susheel Ramasahayam - September 5, 2008
But less injuries please
OlSalty - September 5, 2008
As I was trying to race home to watch the end of this, I got a call from work.
Our CC processing was down, and I’m the only person who could possibly hope to fix it. As soon as I hung up the phone, Betemit doubled. Goddammit.
Aaron Campeau - September 5, 2008
Clearly it was your fault.
Kirsten Schlewitz - September 6, 2008
I think it was my co-worker's fault. His negative energy distracted Brandon.
Aaron Campeau - September 6, 2008
Dave's already thrown up an analysis on Morrow's performance at USSM, btw.
ThundaPC - September 5, 2008
Thanks
The two stats that jump out at me are
1. Morrow only threw his fastball 58% of the time tonight
2. Average fastball velocity: 95.7 MPH
Was good to see Morrow get a decent number of swing and misses on his breaking stuff
zeuswsu - September 5, 2008
PAY ATTENTION FELIX
BrianL - September 5, 2008
No shit.
This was refreshing. Talent PLUS not pitching like an idiot!
Teej - September 5, 2008
Seriously, somebody send Felix a printout of the pitch distribution from today's game.
And HIGHLIGHT ALL OF THE OFFSPEED STUFF
BrianL - September 5, 2008
What's funny is Morrow's fastball is better than Felix's, and Felix has sick breaking stuff.
This is like the opposite of what should be happening.
Teej - September 5, 2008
SOMEONE FIRE STOTTLEMYRE BEFORE HE RUINS MORROW
BrianL - September 5, 2008
Stottlemyre: You need to establish the fastball.
Morrow: Establish this, bitch. [EPIC PIMP SLAP]
Stottlemyre: [flies into dugout]
Morrow: I learned that from some Vanilla Ice wannabe in Tacoma.
Gomez - September 6, 2008
And rec'd.
BrianL - September 6, 2008
Rec'd.
Nicely done.
misterjonez - September 6, 2008
That just made the season so much easier to stomach.
Why oh why couldn’t he be in the rotation from the beginning?
(No answers please, it was rhetorical.)
JonBBT - September 5, 2008
True dat.
I’m excited for Felix, Bedard, Morrow, SIlva, RRS?
That is what I’m praying for anyway…
zeuswsu - September 5, 2008
Make RRS #4 and Silva #5 and it works for me.
If RRS ends up panning out as a #4 that is.
OlSalty - September 5, 2008
If we had a real SS, non-disastrous LF defense, and an average 1B and DH, blah blah blah this team is dumb but I'm excited so I'll shut up.
Aaron Campeau - September 5, 2008
I hear you
Felix, Bedard (healthy), Morrow in the rotation is enough for me to get excited about next year. Even if Morrow struggled from time to time it would be better then watching the crap they threw out there this year.
zeuswsu - September 5, 2008
If they are going to blow things up (and they are going to blow things up) it's nice that I'm more excited about Morrow than I was at 7:00 tonight.
Aaron Campeau - September 5, 2008
The nice thing is, if Morrow and RRS keep pitching well
It’s going to be very hard for them to justify keeping Washburn around next year.
OlSalty - September 5, 2008
Awwwwwwwwwwww...........
rtang - September 5, 2008
Where is he going to go, though?
Aaron Campeau - September 5, 2008
Anywhere they can get partial salary relief for him, hopefully
I doubt they’ll get the full salary taken off their hands now but they can likely get a portion of it taken off their hands.
That is, if they stop being stupid and reverse course on the whole salary dump stubbornness now that they’ve gauged the fan outrage over it.
OlSalty - September 5, 2008
Obviously it's not salary relief that they're after.
JonBBT - September 5, 2008
I envision the world's most expensive bullpen by mid-season next year.
Aaron Campeau - September 5, 2008
I'd be okay with that at this point
Washburn can be the Tug McGraw to Silva’s Goose Gossage for all I care.
Gomez - September 6, 2008
If they're going to be around, might as well minimize the damage they can do.
Aaron Campeau - September 6, 2008
My grammar blows tonight
OlSalty - September 5, 2008
Even if RRS pitches like crap and Morrow goes back to the pen
its going to be very hard for them to justify keeping Washburn around next year.
Washburn’s salary == Strasburg’s signing bonus
Blicks - September 5, 2008
You're forgetting...
…who’s President of this club (and thinks he’s a pocket general manager)…
rtang - September 5, 2008
I know
It just won’t be justifiable from a rational person’s POV.
Blicks - September 6, 2008
I think one of the best parts of tonight
Was that (and I don’t have pitch F/X data to confirm this so take it with a big grain of salt), but it seemed like he didn’t have great control of his curveball, but he was still drawing swinging strikes with it when it was nowhere near the zone just because they were all sitting fastball.
Awesome what mixing your pitches can do.
OlSalty - September 5, 2008
My favorite part:
I loved the fact he went so far with the no-no with Tui at 3d and Balentien in CF.
batura - September 5, 2008
Tui is a brick, but WLAD isn't as bad as people think
Gomez - September 5, 2008
I haven't heard a ton on Tui's defense yet.
What’s the story?
JonBBT - September 5, 2008
Tui's D
Better than Willie’s. Worse than Beltre’s.
Overall, he’s a solid defensive 3B.
.Taylor - September 5, 2008
This is about as different from everything else I've heard as is possible.
Aaron Campeau - September 5, 2008
I was being unsuccessfully sarcastic, sorry.
.Taylor - September 5, 2008
Nevermind then.
Aaron Campeau - September 5, 2008
Worse than Beltre
isn;t much of a criticism….
rtang - September 5, 2008
It wasn't terrible today, but extremely small sample size
OlSalty - September 5, 2008
He had what, one-two plays?
I’d say it was a small sample size.. ha.
JonBBT - September 5, 2008
Normally he is best classified as a trainwreck
OlSalty - September 5, 2008
Could we transition him to SS?
.Taylor - September 5, 2008
We transitioned him FROM short.
He’s too big to go back.
JonBBT - September 5, 2008
That's no good.
Does he stick at the position?
Seattle is running out of choices for a while if he is SOO awful.
JonBBT - September 5, 2008
I have heard from many different sources of varying credibility that his future is most likely at a corner OF spot.
Aaron Campeau - September 5, 2008
He couldn't be any worse than Raul.
Right?
Right?
BrianL - September 5, 2008
I'm pretty sure I would be better than Raul.
Aaron Campeau - September 5, 2008
But nowhere near as entertaining.
Wilder. - September 5, 2008
What if I "forgot" to secure my belt and chased a flyball with my pants around my ankles?
Aaron Campeau - September 5, 2008
Needs more shoelaces tied together.
Wilder. - September 5, 2008
I'd play an entire gmae with TP stuck to my cleats.
Aaron Campeau - September 5, 2008
I'm sold.
acblue in LF 2009!
Wilder. - September 5, 2008
Can he hit tho?
.Taylor - September 5, 2008
Can WIllie?
Can Cairo?
Can Yuni?
Can Johjima?
Can Wlad?
Please stop me.
Wilder. - September 5, 2008
Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn now and again, amirite?
Aaron Campeau - September 5, 2008
You could be the designated bunter
OlSalty - September 5, 2008
AKA our #2 hitter
OlSalty - September 5, 2008
acblue = Cairo?
BrianL - September 5, 2008
Ouch.
Aaron Campeau - September 5, 2008
My ears are nowhere near that big.
Aaron Campeau - September 5, 2008
If you strike out 500 times a year, you can't hit into double plays and Ichiro gets a lot of strikes to run on.
Aaron Campeau - September 5, 2008
This is in the sequel to Moneyball.
JonBBT - September 5, 2008
Failball
.Taylor - September 5, 2008
Takethemoneyandrunball
Aaron Campeau - September 5, 2008
Nice.
misterjonez - September 6, 2008
I could hit from my knees and be the new Eddie Gaedel.
Aaron Campeau - September 5, 2008
Yeah, but he probably takes more pride in it than you would.
JonBBT - September 5, 2008
makes more sense.
But Seattle obviously has better prospects slotted into the COF in the future.
JonBBT - September 5, 2008
Saunders, etc
Maybe even Prentice Redman, who knows.
.Taylor - September 5, 2008
I've never been high on Prentice Redman.
BrianL - September 5, 2008
Prentice Redman is 27 and not a prospect.
Aaron Campeau - September 5, 2008
You should try it. Gets you fucked up pretty good.
Aaron Campeau - September 5, 2008
Aw shit.
Aaron Campeau - September 5, 2008
Comment of the year
that’s awesome
.Taylor - September 5, 2008
Would have been better if I had replied to the right comment.
I’m Prenticing balls right now, though, so it’s not all that surprising.
Aaron Campeau - September 5, 2008
So that's why he never panned out
It was the peyote constantly flowing through his bloodstream.
OlSalty - September 5, 2008
I almost died because of this post.
misterjonez - September 6, 2008
Who's the outfield down in Tacoma now anyway?
There’s Reed and Balentien up here; who’s left?
.Taylor - September 5, 2008
Season's kind of over.
But Redman, Diaz maybe. Saunders. I gues…
JonBBT - September 5, 2008
Halman will probably be in AA to start the year, I'm assuming.
He might get up sometime, though.
Aaron Campeau - September 5, 2008
That would make sense.
Moore should be up in AAA to start the year (off topic.. whatever)
JonBBT - September 5, 2008
exactly.
I saw him hit an absolute blast in Portland’s PGE Park earlier in the year. Still.. he’s got no future.
JonBBT - September 5, 2008
Functional but still needs a lot of work
Gomez - September 6, 2008
+1
WLAD made a couple of nice plays tonight.
appleshampoo - September 5, 2008
No +1 please.
Aaron Campeau - September 5, 2008
Yuni made a couple "nice" plays, but he ain't getting any pluses around here.
JonBBT - September 5, 2008
+1 is verboten.
Aaron Campeau - September 5, 2008
I hadn't heard
Not saying I’m a veteran LL’er, but I’ve been around off and on for a couple years and have never heard +1 forbidden. Gomez said WLAD isn’t that bad, I was just corraborating with evidence from tonights game, he had 2 really nice runnig catches. Does it mean he’s a gold glove CF, no, but he still has a small sample size as a ML CF so I think it’s relevant. Yuni has a big enough sample size that we pretty much know he sucks at his position.
appleshampoo - September 5, 2008
Tui's arm and relative speed would be OK in the OF
Wlad, I hope today, showed people that he’s very, very respectable in CF. He made some pretty awesome plays to keep the no-no going…
PositivePaul - September 5, 2008
He looks good to me
.Taylor - September 5, 2008
Let's just hope this isn't a fluke
like Clay Buchholz and his MLB debut.
Blicks - September 5, 2008
You mean the debut where he didn't throw the no-hitter?
Wilder. - September 5, 2008
Buchholz isn't a fluke.
………………..yet.
.Taylor - September 5, 2008
True, but he hasn't shown that he is an MLB caliber SP.
Although he could very easily turn it around.
Blicks - September 5, 2008
I just wanted to make a comment.
I think Wlad showed that he can play a pretty decent CF, too. He looked real solid out there tonight…
PositivePaul - September 5, 2008
That would be like finding out the decoder ring in your Cracker Jack box is made of platinum.
Aaron Campeau - September 5, 2008
He didn't really have great hands on that over the shoulder catch
But at least he made the catch, so I guess that’s all that matters.
OlSalty - September 5, 2008
Agreed.
Him and Reed could tandem up nicely.
OR WE COULD SIGN ELLISON FOR FIVE YEARS 60 MIL WOOOO
.Taylor - September 5, 2008
The way Balentien has looked at the plate, playing a competent CF would
appear to be his only shot at sticking here long term. His .230/300 BA/OBP with 20-25 homers could maybe be passable in CF
DarkLou - September 5, 2008
I'm not the world's biggest Balentien fan, but he's much better than he's looked at the plate so far.
Aaron Campeau - September 5, 2008
He's still slow as fuck
I don’t like him out there unless it’s an emergency
JI - September 6, 2008
Speaking of range...
what the hell has gotten into Yuni? Watching chubs run around like that had me busting up.
JonBBT - September 5, 2008
About 75,000 of these.
Aaron Campeau - September 5, 2008
Maybe they've started him on an exercise regimen finally
….probably not.
OlSalty - September 5, 2008
I'll blame it on the atmosphere.
I’m betting he needs an epic nap after tonight.
JonBBT - September 5, 2008
Yuniesky Betancourt placed on the 60 day DL due to chubbyness.
BrianL - September 5, 2008
Yuniesky Betancourt placed on the 60-day DL to keep Bedard company
.Taylor - September 5, 2008
Yuniesky Betancourt place on the 60-day DL
because Carlos Silva ate him.
JonBBT - September 5, 2008
Yuniesky Betancourt could eat 60 sandwiches
Gomez - September 6, 2008
And a bad case of the sillies
OlSalty - September 5, 2008
Oh that silly, AIDS infested primate.
BrianL - September 5, 2008
He's probably diabetic too.
.Taylor - September 5, 2008
Would partially explain the difficulty hitting,
since diabetic neuropathy affects the retina, diminishing the effective visual field.
misterjonez - September 6, 2008
Potassium overdose.
Aaron Campeau - September 5, 2008
One of the most amazing games I've ever been to..obviously
The crowd was fantastic from about the 6th inning on. Everyone was kinda buzzing but no one really overtly clamoring about what they were watching. Getting loud and pumped up before the scoreboard told them too. 30k jumping to their feet all at one moment after each strikeout late in the game. I thought we were playing for something…and I think the fans knew what it was. Our future.
I’d like to thank Morrow for getting my weekend off to a fantastic start.
kentroyals5 - September 5, 2008
I knew something was going on the minute I turned on the radio in the 7th.
The crowd was absolutely electric.
Aaron Campeau - September 5, 2008
I haven't heard it like that in years
kentroyals5 - September 5, 2008
jealous
JonBBT - September 5, 2008
Yes agreed
I was fortunate enough to be behind home and I was up cheering after two strikes (a la the Randy days) from the beginning of the sixth. My Father-In-Law was having me do some stop watch work for him as he’s a scout but after five innings took it from me so, in his words, I could be a fan again.
Thank you Brandon. Tonight was an oasis in a large, hot desert.
TheBishop - September 6, 2008
Oh my GOD I CAN'T BELIEVE I DIDN'T TAKE THOSE TICKETS FROM NOLA
BrianL - September 5, 2008
bwahahahahaha
Robert - September 5, 2008
I am going to regret this for the rest of my life.
BrianL - September 5, 2008
It was spectacular
Robert - September 5, 2008
If only there was TiVo for life
erk.. REWIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIND
JonBBT - September 5, 2008
I actually do this all the time.
I will be sitting listening to someone talk, then I lose my attention, and the first thing I think is “rewind” when I want to hear what they said. Unfortunately, I have lost the remote for life.
:(
Wilder. - September 5, 2008
You can't hear that crowd and the roars...it was fantastic. Kingdome-like.
kentroyals5 - September 6, 2008
Heh...

seattlebruin - September 6, 2008

Click
seattlebruin - September 6, 2008
I curled up into a little ball and nearly cried after the double though
Graham MacAree - September 6, 2008
To me, these sorts of emotional responses are just as much a part of why I'm a baseball fan as the positive ones.
Tino’s HR in Game 5 of the 2001 ALCS is probably my most vivid memory, and at the time it was unbearable. But Goddammit, I felt something.
Aaron Campeau - September 6, 2008
Bernie Williams or Alfonso Soriano is the inflatable cuntbag that you are currently thinking of.
Robert - September 6, 2008
Nope, Tino. 3-run-HR in the 8th Inning off Paniagua.
Game was most likely already over (it was 9-3) but that was the “hey your season is over now” moment. It was an absolute bomb to CF, and I still remember Cammy going up and just hanging over the wall. That was the one that did me in.
Aaron Campeau - September 6, 2008
oh hey your right
The season died to me the night before anyway.
Robert - September 6, 2008
Oh, now the crying comment makes sense.
I hadn’t seen this one.
Kirsten Schlewitz - September 6, 2008
Pretty much, yes.
Kirsten Schlewitz - September 6, 2008
But guyz Morrow is more valuable in teh bullpen~!1!!1
I’m so upset I missed this game…if he’d actually gotten a no-hitter I may have just knifed myself.
Omerta - September 5, 2008
I want to find every FO exec who might have thought Morrow would be better for the club in the bullpen,
show them a tape of today’s game, then shove that tape up their ass.
BrianL - September 5, 2008
Armstrong and Lincoln would be a safe place to start.
JonBBT - September 5, 2008
I'm heading down to Safeco tomorrow and administering a cassette-tape enema to those two fuckers.
BrianL - September 5, 2008
Fuck Wilson Betemit
Robert - September 5, 2008
It's okay, Robert.
BrianL - September 5, 2008
It wasn't meant to be.
And yet I felt more satified with this game than any in recent memory. My heart was thumping hard, too. Sweating slightly.
My God! Did I just have sex without realizing it?
JonBBT - September 5, 2008
I'm really not mad that Brandon lost the no-hitter.
Not in the slightest, because Brandon did something far more important.
Hope for the future has been in short supply lately. Thanks, Brandon.
BrianL - September 5, 2008
My wife asks me this all the time.
TheBishop - September 6, 2008
I'm sure he's available
Gomez - September 6, 2008
The Mariners are fun and exciting to watch
Dewey N - September 5, 2008
*twice a week
Aaron Campeau - September 5, 2008
I was going to say twice a year.
Teej - September 5, 2008
God I love this team
Dewey N - September 5, 2008
:)
Robert - September 5, 2008
;)
Dewey N - September 5, 2008
Morrow is the turtle shell!
Robert - September 5, 2008
Why the cliff?
JI - September 6, 2008
He's decided not to jump after all.
Aaron Campeau - September 6, 2008
Now I get it
JI - September 6, 2008
But then why the turtle?
JI - September 6, 2008
Sometimes it takes awhile to get where you're going, but if you're tough enough to survive the journey, it will all be worth it.
Aaron Campeau - September 6, 2008
Well technically we don't know what was on the other side.
Just that its presumably less cliffy.
Robert - September 6, 2008
Analogy solved!
Dewey N - September 6, 2008
Awwwwwwwwwww.
Kirsten Schlewitz - September 6, 2008
Maybe, just maybe, a smart GM will be hired
and convince Chuck there’s some hope next year.
BrianL - September 5, 2008
Or lie and not blow up the team.
Aaron Campeau - September 5, 2008
It's annoying, because we're so close to being somewhat relevant, and it wouldn't require hurting the future.
Aaron Campeau - September 5, 2008
Im drunk now so takke avdantage Morrow.
Slica - September 5, 2008
*Lee Elia creeps over to Slica's place with a Morrow mask on*
JonBBT - September 5, 2008
Good luck, my neihgborhood is dangerous.
I got robbed last weeked.
But I will take both scoops of his Raisin Brandno morrws
Slica - September 5, 2008
Jeff must be writing some epic, 20,000 word post
OlSalty - September 5, 2008
I read "epic,"
and for some reason, this is the first thing I could think of.
Two Rs and Two Ls - September 5, 2008
Let's say, hypothetically, that Adrian Beltre is traded this offseason.
Who do you think emerges as the frontrunner for everyday third baseman? Tui, maybe Lopez, someone else I’m missing? Morse? (bleh)
JonBBT - September 5, 2008
I refuse to think about this.
Teej - September 5, 2008
Beltre is probably my favorite M right now
So yes, it sucks. But it could become an important issue sooner than later.
JonBBT - September 5, 2008
Let's jump off that bridge when we come to it.

OlSalty - September 6, 2008
The fall won't even be fun.
Kirsten Schlewitz - September 6, 2008
It's probably Tui's job unless someone cheap and better stumbles onto the Mariners ST complex
Gomez - September 6, 2008
According to Foxsports.com
Idiots
tootthekazoo - September 6, 2008
Are you fucking kidding me?
They don’t even have a picture for Morrow. News flash, he’s been in the big leagues for AN ENTIRE SEASON.
appleshampoo - September 6, 2008
He's no Joba.
kentroyals5 - September 6, 2008
You're right, he was a shit-ton better than Joba was in his opener
OlSalty - September 6, 2008
Not only has he been in the bigs for almost an entire season
he was one of the best relievers in the entire AL the first half of this season…
seattlebruin - September 6, 2008
They should keep the sihouette instead of a picture.
Just add some glowing red eyes, maybe they pulse a bit, PRESTO!!
dpseadv - September 6, 2008
Damnit
Why oh why did i decide to not watch this game.
wadswerth - September 6, 2008
Couldn't believe it when I woke up.
The first thing I do every morning is grab my phone, check mlb.com and then LL. I was excited when I woke up – I wanted to know how Morrow had done. When the page was loading I thought to myself how awesome it would be if Morrow went 5 IP and only gave up a few hits.
Then the page loaded. The Yankees had TWO hits?!?!? Morrow with the ‘W’?!?!? I opened the box score page, loaded the M’s section … and for the first time in months, I was excited to be a Mariner again.
Well done, Brandon. Don’t ever suck.
EnglishMariner - September 6, 2008
Fuck Wilson Betemit
Robert - September 6, 2008
Last thought upon sleeping, first thought upon waking.
Kirsten Schlewitz - September 6, 2008
11:43 AM, Seattle Times is reporting that Wilson Betemit was killed ...
by a man apparently being identified only as “Robert”.
Humongo - September 6, 2008
One of these days I will actually go through with it....
Robert - September 6, 2008
I love that ther's a shortlist of ballplayers that LLers actively wish death upon
Gomez - September 6, 2008
We need letters for all of them
I nominate JD Drew to be “Player B”
seattlebruin - September 6, 2008
I'm surprised no one has actually put the full death list in writing yet
OlSalty - September 6, 2008
Legal reasons
Jeff Sullivan - September 6, 2008
Not my site, not my worries
Brian Roberts
Mike Hargrove
JD Drew
David Justice
Wilson Betimeit
Matt Thornton
Carlos Beltran
Mike Reilly
Robert - September 6, 2008
Pardon my ignorance but...
Why Justice, Thornton and Reilly?
Humongo - September 7, 2008
Hm, my guess
Justice: Backbreaking HR against M’s in playoffs.
Thornton: Epic suck
Reilly: Screwed us in rainy weather by not delaying game in downpour in 9th inning until Yankees had reclaimed the lead… also screwed us on a non-call in said 9th where a Yankee was clearly out at 1st but was called safe.
Gomez - September 7, 2008
I nominate Ryan Franklin
and I would nominate Ayala bu that’s just a big fat cliche
JI - September 7, 2008
Bobby Ayala never bothered me but maybe that's because I jumped on board in 98.
Robert - September 7, 2008
I was about 10 when Ayala was around
And I hated his guts because my dad told me to.
