Getting sick of these yet? Once again, I'm just legitimately curious where people stand. Also if you're not a Mariner fan I don't much care for your input.

I voted Red Sox because Sox/Yanks would probably be the most exciting ALCS matchup.
Although Yankees/Angels is pretty fun, too. I don’t really care that much either way.
with the one answer being “I was touched by Josh Hamilton in my naughty parts” and then everyone that decided it would be funny to answer it will permanently have their answer logged on their user page.
Meh, I had to think pretty hard about this question a little while ago.
I decided to root for the BoSox on account of the Angels playing in our division, as well as the fact that John Lackey just makes me angry for some unknown reason. Perhaps it’s that he’s good, and as a division rival, I see him be good frequently. That said, it’s not like I’m particularly devoted to pulling for Boston. At this point, I just hope the games are somewhat entertaining.
I'm pretty sure the ferocity of a Mike Sweeny hug in the playoffs could cause some mammoth explosions...
Of course, it’s really just a theory and obviously hasn’t been tested. That said, I can’t fathom another team standing against his infectious smile and being lulled into a sense of security right before a bloop single falls in front of them!
As much as I hate all the douchey Red Sox fans and Dustin Pedroia, I can’t bring myself to vote for the team that sits atop my Hierarchy of Hate. That and they have Vlad Guerrero.
In retrospect, you're right. I probably should have worded it differently.
I just don’t see the point of his comment, and it came off as another Angels fan being like… well, the majority of Angels fans I’ve interacted with. I’m probably just reading too much into it.
Upon further review this poll could even say more about what we think of ESPN and it's style of baseball coverage than how we feel about either one of these teams.
Fuck the Angels. I can ignore the media circus of the Red Sox winning, but I can’t fucking stand the Angels winning anything the way they do. Think of it this way: swap the Mariners for the Yankees. Who do you think the Yankees fans vote for? It’s about having principles. The Angels are our rivals, not the Red Sox.
And thinking about it before the series started I couldn’t decide who I wanted to win. While watching today though I found myself rooting for the Angels, for reasons I can’t explain. So I voted for them. I guess I hate the Red Sox more
It really is a lesser of two evils sort of question, but like the poster above me, I found myself rooting for the Angels without thinking about it. Needless to say, though, should the Twins somehow win their series, I hope to see the Angels die in a fire in the ALCS. But overall, the less East-coast teams are left, the more ESPN will squirm, and the more I will smile.
210 Mariner fans voted to support Orange County, Chone Figgins, John Lackey, the Rally Monkey, and a fanbase that uses Thunderstx? I mean, Red Sox band wagon blah blah blah, but how could you?
Fuck the Angels, fuck everything about the Angels, fuck where they are from. Boston is annoying but at least they’re annoying because they have history and they made an amazing story for many years. The Angels are a goddamned Disney movie. And not a good Disney movie, like Ratatoullie or Toy Story or Cinderella or some shit; they are literally Angels in the Outfield.
I kind of like the Red Sox. It started in 2003 – there was a fight, and the Yankees started it, and ever since I’ve never been able to hate the Sox the way other people do.
I absolutely hate, hate, hate, hate, hate the Red Sox, but just slightly less than the Angels. Either way I’d rather neither team won and somebody dropped a small nuke on Fenway
But you can avoid watching the World Series, or reading about it on ESPN or other sports-related sites.
If the Angels won, you’d feel it in your heart and soul. It’s that deep feeling of despair that comes with knowing that your hated rivals have won something.
I don’t really like the Red Sox, but that feeling comes more from their fanbase and the constant media barrage. I can appreciate how they run their team, and actually like the majority of their players. I truly hate the Angels, and can’t stand most of the players that have ever donned an Angels uniform.
The Red Sox have already won a bunch so it's numb to me now
The Angels winning would allow them to hold another thing over our head. That and the Red Sox are what we are striving on the field so when they win its almost like future us is winning. Fuck them both over any NL team.
with some of the other commenters saying that this poll needs another option. Possibly “both teams die in a plane crash flying back east”. I generally root for the red sox in situations like this as I tend to favor a team that hates the Yankees. However, I’m a little tired of watching the Angels run away with our division every year and then lose in the first round. Answer, dont care
I don’t hate them, I’m just jealous of their success. Sure, when we play them and they wipe the floor with us, I hate them. But it always wears off a little afterwards*. I don’t actually hate anyone in the AL West (*The effects of Lollablueza will never ever wear off, however).
The Red Sox though? One of the few teams I genuinely and actively despise.
As someone stated aptly before, I can merely tune out of the games if the Red Sox win and they play the Yankees. If the Angels win, that’s a large success for a direct division rival, which is a nono.
I’ve been a fan for as long as I can remember following baseball. HAAAAATE the YankMees as much as I HAAATTE the LALALALALALAs. I hate RSN about as much as I hate the YankMees and LALLALALAs, but I actually LIKE Boston the team…
I want a Red Sox/Dodgers series, with the Dodgers winning it all. And I want the LALALALAs and YankMees to destroy themselves and be wiped off the face of this planet.
At least the Yankees and their fans have no delusions about how they succeed year after year; they spend more money than anyone else and most of the Yankees fans I’ve met acknowledge it and don’t particularly care how other people feel about that particular lack of parity. They don’t pretend that’s not the game they’re playing like I have heard many Red Sox fans (often while rationalizing their hatred of the Yankees) do.
I voted Red Sox because Sox/Yanks would probably be the most exciting ALCS matchup.
Although Yankees/Angels is pretty fun, too. I don’t really care that much either way.

I’m a reader of this site, so I sort of just took it from there.
