Non-baseball post.

The first time I saw this picture in a bar in downtown Montreal, it made me upset. The second time I saw this picture it made me wince.
The Habs get as much support as the late Expos.
Hands down the best part of the Bell Centre. Youppi! has always been Montreal's greatest contribution to the world.
Olympic Stadium: The Stadium That Still Exists!
I should have you know that this stadium is still in use.
There is a woman in there whose job it is to sell tickets for guided tours of the stadium. Between that woman, the guy who actually did the guided tours, the guy running the souvenir stand, and the security guard, I saw more employees inside the lobby than I did visitors.
The half of the facility that doesn't suck.
View once admired by Vladimir Guerrero and Matt Cepicky.
Final resting place of Vladimir's knees.
The official mascot of the 1976 Olympic games was a gay beaver named Amik. Sadly it never caught on.
What a real hockey arena looks like.
Downtown in the third-largest city in Ontario.
So this exists

I would've thought hockey in Canada would get a better turnout.
Fin - December 12, 2009
Those pictures were actually taken well before puck drop
I just really hate the Habs
Jeff Sullivan - December 12, 2009
What were you're thoughts on the atmosphere at the Bell Centre compared to Scotiabank?
I’ve been to games in Montreal and in Toronto, but never in Ottawa.
njd.aitken - December 12, 2009
Well since the Sens were playing the Habs in Ottawa, the atmosphere in Scotiabank was pretty loud, as it was 50% boisterous Montreal fans
It’s my understanding that Scotiabank is usually pretty quiet. Ottawa’s not the most vibrant city in the world. The Bell Centre was nice, but the atmosphere didn’t blow me away, although that might’ve had something to do with the Canadiens managing all of like 13 shots on goal.

Ugh, I wish Baseball was still in Montreal
I know it didn’t fare well and I didn’t care much at the time, but they just don’t feel right in Washington. I always wanted to see a game in Olympic Stadium too. YELLOW seats.
OceanBird - December 12, 2009
On the bright side, you never have to go there again.

Does that say Maps & Fags?

Mags & Fags
Jeff Sullivan - December 12, 2009
Where else would gay beavers get their porn?
The ones who still get their porn printed on dead trees, at least.
Which, in the case of beavers, is all of them.

Mcdonalds is actually a well known chain of fast food restaurants

Did you know that in French Canada is Quarter Pounder is called a Royal with Cheese?
Poochie - December 12, 2009
No because that is not factually accurate
Dewey N - December 12, 2009
Oh, sorry...
he meant Royale with Cheese. Way to go typo/ethnocentric-sensitivity police.
jameslcrockett - December 13, 2009
He'll never learn if we baby him

They serve pizza there!

It's not food
chrisisasavage - December 14, 2009
I always found Expos games to be bland and boring, so I wasn't too upset when they were moved.
But yeah, that first picture is kinda sad.
Goose - December 12, 2009
Pre-strike the atmosphere at Expos games was pretty great, as I recall.
I’d like the strike-killing-baseball-in-Montreal angle to get a little more play than it currently does.
Aaron Campeau - December 13, 2009
I always found it very annoying when they talked about the Braves "consecutive championships"
The Expos were taking it in 94!
Craig Powers - December 13, 2009
Ah, well I didn't start watching baseball until the strike year, so I had no idea.
Goose - December 13, 2009
I wonder if the city of Montreal would let me have Olympic Stadium if I assumed all operating costs
Corco - December 12, 2009
I fucking love eastern Canada.
Robert - December 13, 2009
And Western as well.

What the deuce?
My message disapeared. Bloody hell. SUCK! Just finshied finals. I’m a wee bit jealous! I may be able to go the Sens-Habs game in January in Montreal. Dear god, yes! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Wins are fun. finals = the suck of the balls.
ningwers - December 13, 2009
Are you English?
“Bloody hell”. “wee bit”. Although I think you might have missed your mark in saying “suck of the balls” instead of “bloody bollocks”. Chimeroo!
Johnny Slick - December 13, 2009
You're fun
abender20 - December 14, 2009
Are you American?
Confusing English and Scottish phrases seems like a giveaway
Graham MacAree - December 14, 2009
They say wee bit in England as well.
Now, by “they” I mean Scots but I think you now understand how right I am.
Johnny Slick - December 14, 2009
I presume Mags & Fags sells magazines and cigarettes
And for those that don’t believe Jeff when he says Olympic Stadium is still in use, I just saw video of a monster truck show from there not too long ago.
Kouvre - December 14, 2009
