Important Change Regarding USSM(/LL) Event

Additional 1:42pm update: 0 left.

Additional 12:50pm update: 70 left. Buy now if you want in, we're not going to be able to get any more space for this thing.

Additional 11:49am update: Down to 150 left. Already.

Note: whoever bumped the post below this one can suck it

For those of you who couldn't get tickets in time following the previous announcement, we have good news - a change in venue has pretty much doubled capacity, meaning you've all got a second chance. Here's the Brown Paper Tickets link. Act fast, because as you all well remember, the initial round of tickets sold out in less than three hours.

You'll notice that these tickets now cost $17. This is to help cover the cost of moving to Benaroya Hall, which is freaking expensive. Those of you who already paid $10 are all set. Consider it an early bird special. Everybody else is stuck with the new price, but for everything you get, there's no sense in bitching. Pay it and shut up.

Also, as Dave says:

Again, please select "physical tickets" and have them mailed to you or print-at-home. This will make everything go much, much more smoothly on the day of the event than if we’re having to check IDs at Will Call for a couple hundred people.

We'll see twice as many of you there. Hopefully. If it turns out there was only enough demand to sell out the library then boy will there be egg on our faces.

Uhhhh, it still says sold out.

Did this really sell out in 3 minutes?

Sorry, error

Blame Dave!

I shall!

But seriously, the USSM linked worked, and I got tickets. Yay!

Now its time to resell these boys for a nice lil profit.
Yay!

Just bought two.

Me and my dad again.

Wouldn’t want to miss this for anything. Thanks for working on the location upgrade, guys.

Bought two tickets.

Thanks Dave!

And Matthew!

(just read the USSM post)

Awesome quote

but for everything you get, there’s no sense in bitching. Pay it and shut up.

I love this. It applies to so well to so many things, and not just in baseball.

Hooray

now there’s a small possibility that the mobile commenters will be able to get something by the end of the day.

Someone should make sure those unfortunate souls get in either way.

Regarding "physical tickets"?

If, like me, you were so eager not to get shut out again that you neglected to choose this, as requested, it is possible to go back into your order and select "change shipping", to go from will-call to USPS.

I was just about to ask the same question, I'd like to print them but haven't used this service before.

I’d rather not start messing with it and screw something up at this point.

I believe you can

Several people reporting doing exactly that in the thread over at USSM for the first version of the event — they were able to go back and change the delivery option (to either mail or print at home) after the fact.

BPT is also quite responsive by email if you have any questions.

Yes, I changed my shipping option when I originally selected the wrong option
No success, used the tracking number and pulled up my order. The option for changing shipping/printing/etc is not available.
I clicked on the link that was in my confirmation email; down by the "order status" is a highlighted "change shipping"
Ok, just tried it that way and same situation.

Did you order tickets on the second round or the first? That’s the only difference I can think of, other than the amount of time that has elapsed since my order was placed. Not that big of a deal other than accommodating the request for no will call.

Second go-round.
This time

I had my wife get a ticket. I cant do it from work OR my phone.

I missed out and know for a fact that Taylor did too. What are the odds of being able to get a couple from people who can't go, later?
I plan on gaining entrance by impersonating Graham
I'm going to be dishing out hand jobs to get in.
How soft are your hands?
Rumors are his nickname is "KY"
You have to go, it's the only time I ever see you
Oh, I'm in, there's no doubt about that.

Just wondering if I should hold out for more from Scruffy or give my other ticket to my friend, as promised.

So you're saying you have a extra ticket?

Let me get the body oil.

Keep checking. There's been some refunds and a few more tickets made open
Seeing as how Benaroya is expensive, will the expenses be fully covered by ticket sales?

Or at least to the same extent as they were had the event been held at the library? If not, I would be more than willing to pay the difference between what I paid for my tickets and the higher price for the tickets that went on sale today.

WTF seriously?

Can we just move the damn thing to Safeco Field?

Their biggest reception room is smaller than 540 people
I heard they have bleachers though
In January
I heard they have a big-ass retractable roof
It's cold enough in late September
September?

I’ve frozen my ass off sitting in the shade in day games in July.

I need to start checking LL during school so I don't miss things like this...
Some people will have to drop out at the last minute so keep your eyes peeled for ticket opportunities
I hope my funds will hold up in the bidding fallout that will ensue for the ticket.
Would anyone be willing to wear a wire to this event?
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that would be a big no-no,

The Mariners FO people are able to say interesting things for the express reason that it’s not going public.

for the express reason it's off the record*
Off-the-record between the front office and 540 of their biggest fans, some of which also happen to be bloggers
In the past summaries have been posted by the USSM/LL crew

but exact transcripts/videos/etc are not ever an option because they want the FO to keep coming to these things, and the best way to do that is to have Z and co. trust that these things will not be liveblogged/transcripted. It’s a conversation, not a press conference.

Obviously we're not going to frisk everyone coming through the door

Just remember, if you do something stupid, you jeopardize the chances of these events happening in the future.

I've never been to the Benaroya Hall before. What is it, some kind of theater type setup?
Here's some

pictures and a description of the room where it’s being held.

Oh wow. Very nice.
"Throw distance from control booth is 75’ "

Hmmm, not 60’6" but… I think we can manage.

I suspect it's the Illsley Ball Recital Hal.

Well dammit
I'd think so.

“Illsley Ball Nordstrom Recital Hall: Beautifully understated, warmly inviting. This 540-seat auditorium offers the best of all worlds. Flexible and affordable, it offers an intimate setting for everything from big bands to business meetings to chamber ensembles. Community groups find the Recital Hall an ideal choice for fundraisers and concerts. Corporations praise the auditorium’s flexibility and convenience. Everyone finds a unique home in the Recital Hall. "

Uh oh.

I forsee some pushing and shoving backstage.

“One star dressing room with sink and lighted mirror. Two large dressing rooms with sinks and lighted mirrors.”

DIVAFIGHT!!!!!!
I wonder how much the 2,500 seat Taper Auditorium costs.

This will be needed after we win the World Series next year.

Note on USSM has appeared

Second update: We’re seeing occasional refunds on tickets sold, so tickets do open up from time to time. It’s worth checking to see if any have become available if you’re still looking to get in.

This is pretty much turned into our version of a Star Trek convention hasn't it?
Great. So I suppose we've got Z slash fiction to look forward to.
Comicon

I hope Red is there with his Beltre sign while we have a few Jack Zduriencik and Tony Blegino look-alikes. Maybe that Ichiro look-alike will make an appearance.

LL Mod look a like contests!
I sure hope you all have something to talk about at this event.
