Did I miss anything?
What we've learned from all this is that Ichiro doesn't think it's an important story, and Griffey has his back. Yes, the questions had to be asked; you need to give Ichiro an opportunity to respond to all the criticism he's received from current and former teammates. But now that they've been asked and answered, let this please - please - be the last we ever hear of it. If the Mariners need to keep Mike Sweeney to play mom for all the unprofessionals in the locker room, then whatever. Just lay the hell off of Ichiro. He's not and never has been the one whose contributions ought to be questioned.

What more could Ichiro possibly do.
Ichiro shows his leadership by his work ethic an his results on the field. And really, how can anyone question that.
wadswerth - March 27, 2009
Can we get a ruling on where Ichiro is on he periodic table?
Wilder. - March 27, 2009

hmm
I like how Washburn seems to think Griffey will be on their side.
Goose - March 27, 2009
Nobody on the Mariners is smart enough to decipher what Ichiro means when he talks anyway
Jeff Sullivan - March 27, 2009
He doesn't talk to you because you are unpleasant .
JI - March 27, 2009
He'd talk to him if Ichiro dressed like a 14 year old girl

Graham MacAree - March 27, 2009
Perhaps I will rephrase my question..
Whom is the picture referencing?
d0nkey - March 27, 2009
I may be wrong but I believe it is a picture of Matthew's Grandfather

This is an example of why context and poster identity are every bit as important as content
Jeff Sullivan - March 27, 2009
Indeed.

It's amazing how the high school mentality never goes away.
I’ve never had a job that wasn’t full of cliques, gossip, crushes, rivalries, fights, you name it. I don’t know why I’m surprised when I read that an MLB team is the same way. Ichiro is so dead on right that everyone should stfu and act like professionals, but I can’t see that ever happening. I’m really glad that Griffey is set up to be his foil now, because even if everyone else is going to act like children, it would be nice if they would just let Ichiro be Ichiro.
