Matthew has to flip them like that in order to display from the "point of view" of the Mariners (i.e. WP going up as the M's go ahead)
He has to do that because he’s taking these charts from Fangraphs instead of doing them up by hand like Jeff. And Fangraphs always places the home team above the x-axis and the away team below.
gotta say one thing; maybe Felix was getting bad results but you have to be happy with his pitch selection. Worked off his two seamer, mixed in his change early and often, was throwing his breaking balls in pitcher counts. This is something to be happy about.
Lowe was the best pitcher we sent out there today.
He was shaky with his command too and was being squeezed but I’m still surprised.

Highest WPA != 'best'

Is there something weird going on
or are the labels on the graph mirror image of what they should be.

Gotcha.

I miss Jeff
Rudy4three - April 11, 2009
Nah, Jeff's like a fungible middle-inning reliever -- easily replaced by Graham and Matthew
But okay, maybe I sort of miss the witty picture inserts. Matthew dropped one last night, so what’s up with skinting us today?

You guys are needy
Jeff Sullivan - April 12, 2009
we got a -.336 from felix
and still won the game. I like very much (the second part, at least).

I only got to watch the first few innings

The strikeout binge was nice to see too
Also two of those runs were Kenji’s fault.
Graham MacAree - April 11, 2009
I think Fangraphs is gonna sue someone

Anyone find out how far Branyan's homer went?
Scrupio - April 12, 2009
427 feet according to Hit Tracker
BrettJMiller - April 12, 2009

It landed behind the first set of seats in RCF
