Tomorrow= Felix day?
CKel - April 27, 2009
Tomorrow was always Felix day.
Matthew - April 27, 2009
Oops
Didn’t see the note at the top
CKel - April 27, 2009
God, Yuni sucks.
ThundaPC - April 27, 2009
I can't see anything in that picture,
but god would it be fun to see two teams compete against one another in a snowball fight.
craig3410 - April 27, 2009
Though Aardsma would probably decapitate someone.
craig3410 - April 27, 2009
But not the person he was aiming for.
Teej - April 27, 2009
Wooo Russ comes through again
OlSalty - April 27, 2009
Is that 2 pm Seattle time or local time? Thanks.
drm1125 - April 27, 2009
Seattle time
Jeff Sullivan - April 27, 2009
Thanks
drm1125 - April 27, 2009
Well this game is rained out, but Tacoma's playing.
Jeff Clement is playing 1B tonight.
BrianL - April 27, 2009
Russ Branyan can hit left-handers!
Corco - April 27, 2009
I find the implicit assumptions of this WPA chart to be delightful.
esoteric - April 27, 2009
I think somebody is getting groped in the game shot.
Paytheline - April 27, 2009
Woohoo... go Cliff Lee
shut those Bosox down boyo.
johnbai - April 27, 2009
Hey wait, the game was postponed due to rain
What are you trying to pull here?
Mariner John - April 27, 2009
Can't wait for Felix day!
forte40 - April 27, 2009
Thanks White Sox.
Per Baker:
Game 1: Chris Jakubauskas vs. Bartolo Colon
Game 2: Felix Hernandez vs. John Danks
ThundaPC - April 27, 2009
Sounds good to me
.Taylor - April 27, 2009
That is wonderful.
gregrabble - April 27, 2009
Better
OlSalty - April 27, 2009
Well that's stupid of them
Corco - April 27, 2009
I'm not sure I like this
We went from having almost a sure fire win in game 2 to something far less sure. We straight up suck against left handers this year let alone a darn good one.
Scrupio - April 27, 2009
The way I look at it the Sox went from having a surefire split to not being guaranteed either
I’d take the split, when I’d argue the Mariners still have the overall advantage right now
Corco - April 27, 2009
We're 4-1 against lefthanded starters
Graham MacAree - April 27, 2009
We have an OPS of .579 against them
Scrupio - April 27, 2009
But we're amazingly RH
Mariner John - April 27, 2009
Over 167 PAs.
That’s not much of a sample size. Certainly not enough to argue that the .190/.234./250 team line for RH batters against LHP is legitimate. It’s a fluke, once Beltre and Lopez start hitting you’ll see that line turn around. Reverse platoon splits for hitters are pretty much a myth.
Vatinius - April 27, 2009
I'm sure you're right, we'll eventually regress to the mean
I was just throwing it out there that we’ve struggled so far against leftys and John Danks has been pretty darned good so far(lefty or not)
Scrupio - April 27, 2009
I hope this means Felix pitches Sunday.
Fin - April 27, 2009
Game 1: Chris Jakubauskas vs. Bartolo Colon
Together, they make the number 10!
section331 - April 27, 2009
Well played sir.
Although I doubt know if Colon fat jokes are dead memes.
Mariner John - April 27, 2009
Just a heads up, section331 is a lady.
She knows what we’re about, and she can take what we dish out. That’s not easy.
Kermit. - April 27, 2009
I don't know if I would call myself a "lady", but your mileage may vary...
And I have yet to see anyone make a Colon joke, but since I’m relatively new, that means nothing…
section331 - April 27, 2009
You've got style, you've got grace, you're a winner!
Kermit. - April 27, 2009
Oh yes it definitely worked.
I just am not sure if it applies to all fat jokes or just Silva and Vidro.
Mariner John - April 28, 2009
I don't think the problem is with fat jokes per se
Most of the time the point of dead meme’ing stuff isn’t so much about the content as it is how creative the jokes that arise from that content are. It’s an effort to get people to not go for the easy joke, and most fat jokes are too easy to the point of not being funny. But if someone puts some thought into it and comes up with a good one that’s probably okay.
OlSalty - April 28, 2009
I put some 10 seconds of thought into it
Does that count?
section331 - April 28, 2009
So Raul Ibanez is quickly becoming a legend in Philly.
…in a good way.
ThundaPC - April 27, 2009
Talk to me in 2 years
Corco - April 27, 2009
That contract is going to be hilarious when he can't physically play defense anymore
and also can’t hit for beans.
appleshampoo - April 27, 2009
They'll have introduced the DH into NL play by then.
esoteric - April 27, 2009
P.S. Fuck the Nationals.
esoteric - April 27, 2009
Are you drunk
or just in an overly hate-my-horrible-NL-team mood?
appleshampoo - April 27, 2009
The latter.
I haven’t had a drink of anything alcoholic in half a month. Drunk-posting is for squares, anyway.
No, I’m just feeling the agony over this crappy team I ought to learn not to care about.
esoteric - April 27, 2009
Since when are people allowed to have a second team because they're in the opposite league
JI - April 27, 2009
At certain moments I begin to feel like I'm living vicariously through you
Because at least your other team is playing out of its mind right now.
And Pujols. My god, I wish I could reasonably claim to root for a team with an everyday talent like Pujols.
esoteric - April 27, 2009
ALBERT PUJOLS IS MADE OF SEX.
Vatinius - April 27, 2009
Aren't we all?
Omerta - April 28, 2009
If you think the Cardinals are my second team you are making false assumptions.
JI - April 27, 2009
Also, Pujols isn't nearly as exciting as Edmonds or McGwire
JI - April 27, 2009
Where did I say that the Cards were your "second" team?
I chose my words carefully.
esoteric - April 27, 2009
I suppose you are correct
even thought it seemed it was implied
JI - April 27, 2009
I'm so confused
Does this mean the Cards are your first team? Why do you hang out here then, not being a Seattlite?
Note: I am indeed drunk posting, so the logic of this thread may have eluded me.
appleshampoo - April 28, 2009
Because conversing with other Cardinal fans
will make you want to drive a spike through your head.
Sec 108 - April 28, 2009
It means there was never a time where I was not a fan of both teams.
JI - April 28, 2009
They'll have the DH in the NL by August? Awesome.
pdb - April 27, 2009
I fucking hate the Nationals.
esoteric - April 27, 2009
Fucking chump-ass pathetic minor league team.
esoteric - April 27, 2009
I hope somebody garrotes Joel Hanrahan with his own stringy entrails.
esoteric - April 27, 2009
And he voids his bowels during his death throes, for one final humiliation.
esoteric - April 27, 2009
So how bout those Natinals?
Mariner John - April 27, 2009
It's the Corco special
Graham MacAree - April 27, 2009
Hooray for rainouts!
JI - April 27, 2009
Double header on my day off!
Robert - April 27, 2009
So who's getting the handy in that picture?
Can’t quite tell
tootthekazoo - April 27, 2009
The slowest day I've had at work in about 9 months and the Mariners just had to be rained out. Argh!
Goose - April 28, 2009
Is the guy in the middle touching the guy on the right's junk?
JAH - April 28, 2009
Bahaha, I just commented to abender at the game that if I was Jeff, I'd make Yuni the biggest suckfest every single game for the rest of the season
seattlebruin - April 28, 2009
I'm surprised it wasn't Griffey.
abender20 - April 28, 2009
A 0.0 WPA for Yuni!
Finally we have found what it takes to get average defense from our SS.
kzuudj - April 28, 2009
*WEP
I am a moron.
kzuudj - April 28, 2009
Just please ignore me until I get coffee.
Thank you.
