Balentien had a real nice approach tonight in his ABs. Wouldn't mind seeing
him out there again tomorrow, with Gutz struggling right now, and Endy in the midst of his regression back to normal.
Wish we’d spread these runs and hits out instead of exploding then going idle for a couple games.
Rudy4three - April 28, 2009
Russ Branyan should also hit his homeruns less far so he could hit more of them.
joof - April 28, 2009
I think it was a hope for more consistency rather than an attack on clutch hitting
seattlebruin - April 29, 2009
HOLY SHIT I WITNESSED THE BEST GAME EVAR
Even the Yuni-getting-four-hits thing. Which was outweighed by the Russell-getting-five-hits part.

I shouted out to Paul Konerko that "FELIX WILL ONLY THROW FASTBALLS" while he was in the hole.
He turned around and smiled at me, acknowledging what I said.
Then Felix struck him out with a nasty breaking ball.

Siiickkneessss!
BRKLN M'S - April 28, 2009
I think we heard you on TV, then.
Because I heard that exact phrase shouted.
Wilder. - April 28, 2009
Dude no way
I definitely heard someone say that. Holy crap.
.Taylor - April 28, 2009
Well to be fair.
He mostly only does throw fastballs.
Fin - April 28, 2009
You are awesome.
kentroyals5 - April 28, 2009
Were you yelling alot?
Cause I heard one distinct voice yelling FASTBALLS all game
d0nkey - April 28, 2009
Sounds like me.
I’ll have to check to be sure, though.
esoteric - April 28, 2009
I was trying to introduce a co-worker to the Felix-fastball conundrum
and he threw like 3 out of 4 breaking balls, made me look like an ass but caught someone looking.
Hard to tell who, the tv at the bar we were watching was at a bad angle.
hcoguy - April 28, 2009
It was Konerko, and it was the at-bat I described above.
Konerko was caught looking on a great breaking ball, fell right into the zone, he looked foolish and he clearly knew it walking out of the box. I blame myself for feeding him bad information.
esoteric - April 28, 2009
If I recall correctly, that was a changeup.
Matthew - April 28, 2009
Looked curvy to me, but then again I was drunk and hollering stupid shit most of the game.
I fit right in with the home team crowd.
esoteric - April 28, 2009
Felix must have heard you too
hahahahahahahahahahahah
IceStormV1 - April 29, 2009
I'm tempted to head on over to the stadium today and shout "ERIK WILL ONLY THROW PAIN" to the Sox batters.
See if I can’t push my luck.
esoteric - April 29, 2009
Thank God Yuni didn't have biggest contribution
Corco - April 28, 2009
No Beltre?
DAMellen - April 28, 2009
Perhaps you need to check out the Biggest Suckfest again
esoteric - April 28, 2009
Hey, if Betancourt gets to be a Killer B, Beltre gets to be a Killer B!
DAMellen - April 28, 2009
Seven with one blow!
Kermit. - April 28, 2009
My favorite Sims quote of the season so far:
“Coming up, the Killer B’s! . . . followed by Jamie Burke.”
Teej - April 28, 2009
God I hope that ws intentional.

I think that comment got buried somewhere at the end of the first game post for the nightcap.
I laughed hard.
Zwakamatsu - April 28, 2009
Yeah, I posted it, then Jeff closed comments like 20 seconds later!
Teej - April 28, 2009
Hay guise
Look Raul Ibanez plays great defense!
appleshampoo - April 28, 2009
Well, now he takes pride in his defense!
The real Raul will be back shortly.
Sinking Away - April 28, 2009
I like how unnecessary that little skip he did at the end of the second catch was
That ball was fairly routine.
OlSalty - April 28, 2009
With Endy out there, the first catch would have looked totally routine too.
Raul is slow.
Vatinius - April 28, 2009
Why does the lovable hick have to suck so much?
Mariner John - April 28, 2009
Good gravy...
We already HAD the Killer B’s
Beltre, Betancourt and Bloomquist!
PositivePaul - April 28, 2009
that's an awesome picture
vivaelpujols - April 28, 2009
Turn around, Bloomquist!
ralphie81 - April 28, 2009
I really liked that one time we had an infield of Beltre, Betancourt, Bloomquist, Brousard, and Burke.
That was good fun.

By the way, despite my previous dismissal of hockey as a sport for homosexuals, I am now on the bandwagon for my home team of the Washington Capitals.
esoteric - April 28, 2009
It's about time!
Caps! Caps! Caps! Caps!
Wilder. - April 29, 2009
homosexuals *and Canadians*, I meant.

About tickets...
So I am coming into town in a few weeks for a game or 2, and I am wondering…Does anyone know, is the ticketmaster feature on the Mariners’ website the only way to buy tickets through the team? Because the ticketmaster interface is the most offensively frustrating to use piece of garbage that I have ever encountered. It takes like an hour to browse for different types of tickets, and gives you very litle control of where your tickets actually are. Is there another way to go about this, outside of buying tickets secondhand? Appreciate the help.

StubHub Stubhub StubHub StubHub

seattlebruin - April 28, 2009
You forgot the $2.50 "convenience" charge for printing out your own tickets
on top of the $5 dollar “service” charges. Ticketmaster makes me want to kill things.
ralphie81 - April 28, 2009
No, you can buy tickets direct from team stores or at the stadium.
Matthew - April 29, 2009
If he's coming from into town he's probably from out of town so that's not an option
Corco - April 29, 2009
Amazingly, you can buy tickets on the same day of the game!
Matthew - April 29, 2009
Most people don't like to do that when coming from out of town
Because depending on how many people he’s going with, it might be difficult to get good seats, and if the Mariners keep playing well a sellout is not out of the question
If I’m coming from out of town, I’d never ever consider buying tickets day of game, and I know lots of people who feel the same way
Corco - April 29, 2009
Well, yes, but it's still an option
and certainly a valid answer to the question
Matthew - April 29, 2009
Can't you buy them over the phone too? Or is that only season or X-game packages...
appleshampoo - April 29, 2009
You can but it's through Ticketmaster.
Aaron Campeau - April 30, 2009
Buying them secondhand is better price-wise
you can usually get tickets on StubHub for below face value – at least you could a couple weeks ago. And you know exactly where the seats are.

Thanks
