Also, awesome game. Torii!
Eyebrows - May 18, 2009
Troll.
Faux - May 19, 2009
Those little spikes from 5th inning forward? Those hurt the most.
Seattle Rodiners - May 18, 2009
Our pitchers contributed quite a bit
Unfortunately it was the wrong kind of contribution
Gihyou - May 18, 2009
We get it. You like The Simpsons. But this is a baseball blog, for Christ's sake.
Teej - May 18, 2009
This has been beaten to a bloody pulp over the past week or two.
marc w - May 19, 2009
It was just my way of saying I don't understand 80% of the jokes on this website yet spend my whole life here.
Teej - May 19, 2009
Holy shit, our lineup had a positive contribution.
gregrabble - May 18, 2009
I want to have Russell Branyan's children.
Mariner John - May 18, 2009
You know...
If you can somehow manage to do this, I’ve read somewhere that you inherit Disneyworld
Fuzz - May 19, 2009
Don Wak is an
Idiot.
coolconman - May 18, 2009
How so?
MFAN - May 18, 2009
Or did I miss a joke somewhere?
MFAN - May 18, 2009
Putting Brandon Morrow in the game
Again.
coolconman - May 18, 2009
Considering that it's imperative to get Morrow back on his feet
I can’t in good conscience hold his usage today against the manager.
Jeff Sullivan - May 18, 2009
Yeah but he sucks
coolconman - May 18, 2009
Seems reasonable.
Teej - May 18, 2009
Well now it all makes sense.
MFAN - May 18, 2009
Such a well articulated argument.
Fin - May 18, 2009
Gotta agree.
I’m not sure how much influence Wak has in whether Morrow should be in AAA right now, so I can’t fault him for the fact that Morrow is still on the big club. And you gotta give him some innings.
Teej - May 18, 2009
Well I wish they would give him innings whenthe Mariners are thouorghly out of the game
coolconman - May 18, 2009
Rather give Morrow a chance in a close game than Denny Stark.
Those were probably the two options Wak had.
MFAN - May 18, 2009
There really haven't been too many of those.
ThundaPC - May 18, 2009
It's not like our bullpen has that many options
Jeff Sullivan - May 18, 2009
It was the sixth inning
seattlebruin - May 19, 2009
Not to mention
We haven’t had a lead by more than 3 runs since April 28th.
ThundaPC - May 18, 2009
How does Jeff make these charts?
Snowman1025 - May 18, 2009
Excel
Jeff Sullivan - May 18, 2009
Oops
I meant how do you actually get the WPA numbers?
Snowman1025 - May 18, 2009
I use this spreadsheet

Jeff Sullivan - May 18, 2009
Hahaha, an error by Jeremy Reed just lost the Mets a game in extra innings.
redwolf75 - May 18, 2009
He was playing 1st, so you really can't blame him.
Didn’t he do the same for us last year?
Faux - May 19, 2009
He played 1st all through college
Graham MacAree - May 19, 2009
How much of that really carries over into high minors/majors?
Especially with only very sporadic play.
Faux - May 19, 2009
I have no idea but he can't be woefully incompetent
Graham MacAree - May 19, 2009
A .913 lifetime fielding percentage can't be good.
Poochie - May 19, 2009
How the hell is Darren Oliver still employed?
Damn left-handedness.
Mariner John - May 18, 2009
He was a Type A free agent, so he's awesome.
Teej - May 19, 2009
Though he has been above average for the past couple of years.
Per tRA.
Teej - May 19, 2009
He's a lefty reliever without a platoon split, which is really weird
Jeff Sullivan - May 19, 2009
Jimenez is in that boat, too, right?
Teej - May 19, 2009
On more research:
He’s been better against righties, but there’s a pretty sizable BABIP difference.
Given that he works off his changeup, though, I imagine he’s not much of a LOOGY.
Teej - May 19, 2009
"On more research"
I’m good at words.
Teej - May 19, 2009
You am best editor in world!
Aaron Campeau - May 19, 2009
Why is Yuni so tired in the picture?
It can’t be from running around in the field, can it?
