Jack Zduriencik has a Quick Trigger Finger

A day after adding Steven Shell on a minor league deal after he was cut loose by the Nationals, Zduriencik added outfielder Jerry Owens with a minor league deal after he refused assignment with the White Sox and became a free agent. Owens was DFA'd for Scott Podsednik, which... yeah.

Because what AAA Tacoma really could use right now is an outfielder?
Well a lefty hitting bench player seems like something we could use. Ideally, it'd be a power hitter, but whatever.
A lefty OF bench bat seems not that useful given Chavez and Ichiro
. . . and given that he's actually not much of a bat
So he's the new Prentice Redman?
Prentice Redman has been off the chain thus far this season
I prefer the phrase "off the heezy"
Seriously though, where are they going to play him?

Once Wilson comes off the DL I’m not sure if I like the idea of him taking PT away from Wilson or Saunders, and if he’s playing instead of Redman that seems awfully pointless.

The only thing I can see is him taking DH at-bats away from Shelton, but I don’t like that either

Also when did we get Guillermo Quiroz back?
I have a feeling this is a set up for something a lot biggger, like a multi-player multi-team move.
I have trouble visualizing any multiplayer multiteam move that nets Jerry Owens on the Major League club that ends up being a good thing
If anyone could've had him for free, why would they then give something away from him?

Or are you saying that we’d dump one of the M’s outfielders, thus needing Owens?
I doubt any team values Gutz as high as the Mariners, and no one wants Endy, unless his bunts turn into homers.

Saunders, Halman, Wlad.
Or LaHair disappears as well as Guzman. Then it makes a little more sense I suppose.
in May?

I have my doubts.

Seems like Endy insurance to me.
