When we get done screaming, Graham and I will throw up some more stuff on this game. For now, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Loved this game.
Also, for some reason, Wak is sounding a lot like a young Johnny Cash on the post-game show…
We should play him every game because his suck is only contagious to our opponents. Like selective Monkey flu. This is something that must be studied! The H3I1 strain.
1)Sweeney hitting a rocket out of Safeco
2)Johjima tying the game in the ninth with a homerun
3)Geren refusing to use his two best relievers to lock the game down thus allowing Gonzalez to throw 108 pitches in relief.
Does Jason Vargas have eye shadow or something because if I saw him walking around the streets I'd be reaching for a 12 gauge shotgun cause he looks like a zombie.
I was in a little bar in in Oakland drinking way too much Racer X
wearing M’s gear and was mocked a few times through out the evening, but when it was all over most the people just smiled at me and said this is going to be a fun season and good on me for sticking with my team. Sorry I’m a little too drunk and excited for punctuation
It has an amazing river. Access to amazing wild places more Mt. biking within ten mins. of down town than anywhere on the planet. Rock climbing with in mins.
Me and my brother basically stayed the whole 15 innings. The ending was a little anti-climatic, my god fucking damn, the bottom of the 13th was so fucking intense. We were wearing our rally caps from basically the bottom of the 8th, and it seemed to have worked.

I was working and paid attention to the beginning. Didn’t turn it on again til extras, when Oakland went ahead 6-4. Turned it off, thinking it was over. Received text messages that it was tied and called my dad to find out what happened. As I was on the phone, Vargas walked someone. I hung up. And we won!
Superstitious? Yes, but I don’t care, and Jeff should miss more games.
Loved this game.

Wow
Wow wow
tootthekazoo - May 3, 2009
Games won legitimately thanks to Yuniesky Betancourt: -1
Games won thanks to the opposing defense unable to handle his degree of suck: 2
CapSea - May 3, 2009
The bunt he put down against LAA was actually a good one,
as opposed to the crappy one today.
appleshampoo - May 3, 2009
He's an interesting vortex of terrible.
Another example is when he and Brandon Inge (a fairly decent third baseman) traded errors in one of the Detroit games.
He’s the team’s black cat.
yuniform - May 3, 2009
Interesting stance.
We should play him every game because his suck is only contagious to our opponents. Like selective Monkey flu. This is something that must be studied! The H3I1 strain.
CapSea - May 3, 2009
Perhaps Yuni changing his jersey number every couple years is because the suck strain is mutating.
yuniform - May 3, 2009

I don't know what I'm more amazed by:
1)Sweeney hitting a rocket out of Safeco
2)Johjima tying the game in the ninth with a homerun
3)Geren refusing to use his two best relievers to lock the game down thus allowing Gonzalez to throw 108 pitches in relief.
Just a crazy game
Rudy4three - May 3, 2009
Holy shit I knew he threw a lot, but 108 pitches?
BrianL - May 3, 2009
Apparently there were specific reasons each guy in the As bullpen couldn't pitch
I don’t remember all of them, other than Zeigler has the flu.
appleshampoo - May 3, 2009
It was bizaree how Bailey kept getting up and throwing, then sitting down, then running
back to the mound and throwing again, then sitting down again.
Rudy4three - May 3, 2009
That was spectacular.
cwel87 - May 3, 2009
THATS IT YOU GUYS HAVE ME BACK IM MOVING BACK IN WITH YOU I LOVE YOU LIKE I NEVER LEFT YOU

TOO THE BED ROOM
Robert - May 3, 2009
I'd be more excited if Batista didn't lull me into a coma during the 13th inning.
Seriously, though, what an improbable win. This was a fitting payback for Oakland winning yesterday.
Wilder. - May 3, 2009
What do the red lines between 13 and 14 mean?
I’m assuming they mean something along the lines of “Go ahead and change the channel. This one’s over.” but I thought I’d ask.
DAMellen - May 3, 2009
Actually, the opposite
Those are high leverage situations, when the A’s took the lead, and then when the Mariners crawled back.
yuniform - May 3, 2009
Leverage index. Red means it hit the maximum

For the lazy.
Morrow’s jumping makes me irrationally nervous.
yuniform - May 3, 2009
OH NOES HE JUST SLIPPED A DISC DOING THAT
esoteric - May 3, 2009
It looks like Morrow is getting a little
too excited with Mark Lowe, if you get my gist (23-26 seconds).
redwolf75 - May 3, 2009
Morrow DOES look excited, now doesn't he?!
Everybody is doing a little hippity-hoppity out there and I love it. An exhausted hippity-hoppity, but it’s great.
Seattle Rodiners - May 3, 2009
Lowe and Morrow star in...

They’re having problems controlling… their lust.

Aaron Campeau - May 4, 2009
I save my sarcastic responses for serious inquiries
JI - May 4, 2009
Yea that was a nice little hop
Rudy4three - May 3, 2009
What a trial by fire for Jason Vargas, too.
Bet he has to feel like a million billion bucks to make this his Major League re-debut.
esoteric - May 3, 2009
Does Jason Vargas have eye shadow or something because if I saw him walking around the streets I'd be reaching for a 12 gauge shotgun cause he looks like a zombie.

Maybe partied last night after being called up?
appleshampoo - May 3, 2009
No. Trust me, I've seen him before, back when he was pitching for the Mets.
He ALWAYS looks like that.

Almost a Ray Liotta sort of look to him.
Must be a big Field o’ Dreams fan.

Oops.

Tony S - May 3, 2009
A little dab'll do ya.
msb - May 4, 2009
Did you end up getting the haircut?
Rudy4three - May 3, 2009
Yeah
But I waited until the last possible minute to get out of the damn car…when they tied in the 14th.
Fuck I’m lame. :p

If you do, the radio games are free and archived fairly quickly. If not, I don’t really know how to help you.
esoteric - May 3, 2009
This game was pretty terrible. Exciting, yes. But the quality of play
was pretty bad in my opinion.
Rudy4three - May 3, 2009
True.
The Mariners probably didn’t deserve to win. But then again they didn’t deserve to lose last night.
Seattle Rodiners - May 3, 2009

I feel worse. I watched 9 innings then left to go play tennis.
3 hours invested and no catharsis, just one giant blue balling. I guess I saw the Johjimer, but that was it.

Seattle Rodiners - May 3, 2009
Well this worries me.
Kirsten Schlewitz - May 4, 2009
Oh, it's because Robert moved back in.
Kirsten Schlewitz - May 4, 2009
I enjoyed this game

pakipaki - May 3, 2009
I suppose it'd be asking too much for Texas to somehow blow their 5-1 lead.
Nate Dogg - May 3, 2009
Likely so.
In other news, it’s raining fire and fuck here.
Rachmaninoff - May 3, 2009
Let's get them good and cocky -- and tired -- before they get annihilated on Felix Day.
Let’s not forget their team is cursed after taking Dearest Darling Alex.
Seattle Rodiners - May 3, 2009
Any ideas where to catch Dave's call of the Lopey-blast?
Rachmaninoff - May 3, 2009
Would also love to hear this beauty.
Surely he lost his shit on air as much as I did on the couch.
Seattle Rodiners - May 3, 2009
Pretty much, yes.
