I actually sorta played high school ball with Rajai Davis.
He was a senior on varsity when I was on the freshman squad. I remember him being about the 5 or 6th best player on that team at the time, but probably the most driven to improve. I always cheer for him outside of the M’s series, but seriously, what the hell was he doing there?
Legendary. Just Legendary.

Legen-
wait for it…
DARY!
Diatribe - May 3, 2009
I love Ichiro's double-knee back-buster on Lopez.
Wilder. - May 3, 2009
How the hell does Davis not get to that?
Just… wow.
JLProck - May 3, 2009
I'm 62% sure that Bob Geren told him to miss the ball ahead of time
The A’s were better off losing in 15 than winning in 20 or whatever
Corco - May 3, 2009
Rajai Davis was a defensive replacement.
Never forget.

Who the holy hell is Jason Vargas. I don't really care I love him now and forever
InSpokane - May 3, 2009
Former Fish LHSP prospect, dealt to the Mets in '06
came over in the Putz deal.
The Ancient Mariner - May 3, 2009
I remember him pitching pretty well for the Marlins back in 2005.
I am surprised he had been toiling around since then.
Fin - May 3, 2009
Such a fantastic game
gregrabble - May 3, 2009
Simply Amazing.
ThundaPC - May 3, 2009
After today, guess who has the Mariners' third best OPS (at .769) - after The Muscle and Wlad?
I’ll give you a hint: he’s a flying love machine.

Decatur - May 3, 2009
Butt-chin!
Seattle Rodiners - May 3, 2009
I feel like Wlad is finally becoming a good hitter
If he can continue to show patience, with his power he could be a real asset
gregrabble - May 3, 2009
He sure looks better than last year.
ignacio - May 3, 2009
His BABIP's through the roof right now
so he’s going to regress some; but I’ll grant, seeing him with 3 walks and only 5 Ks in 34 AB is highly encouraging.
The Ancient Mariner - May 3, 2009
He's smoking the ball though
so I’m not surprised his BABIP is a little elevated right now
seattlebruin - May 3, 2009
SSS
redwolf75 - May 3, 2009
But hopefuly not.
redwolf75 - May 3, 2009
Granted it's a small sample, it still shows a different approach
and that’s what offers reason for hope.
The Ancient Mariner - May 3, 2009
Yah...funny that the pitch he looked the most ridiculous on today was a fastball. Baby steps!
kentroyals5 - May 3, 2009
His defense hasn't been too shabby, either.
He has ran down a few balls I didn’t think he would. I even mistook him for Endy one time.
Wilder. - May 3, 2009
That no. 51 seems very excited.
msb - May 3, 2009
I missed the game. Was it a comeback win?
Also, I saw in the Boxscore that Vargas pitched well.
russak - May 3, 2009
If you have seen the boxscore, you should know it was a comeback win.
Twice it was a comeback (9th and 13th).
Wilder. - May 3, 2009
And once it was a win (15th)!
ralphie81 - May 3, 2009
I was watching this at work with a few coworkers while on break
My reaction was basically “Fuck that’s probably not gonna be deep enoHOLY FUCK IT DROPPED! WE WON WE WON! WEEEEEEEEEE!”
Goose - May 4, 2009
Same thing here
BrettJMiller - May 4, 2009
I followed the game on the dancefloor in some club in Leeds and it was very joyous
A lot better than when I was following the game on saturday when I foolishly stayed up until 6am to watch Ricky Hatton get mullered.
EnglishMariner - May 4, 2009
I honestly thought Hatton died in that fight
At first glance it seemed like Pacquiao hit him square in the trachea
