I thought hitters were supposed to become more patient as they got older.
Vlad is swinging more, is swinging at more pitches out of the zone, and swinging at fewer pitches in the zone. His O-Contact% is higher, but is Z-Contact% is much lower than it has been the last few years. Go figure that his walks have decreased a ton, and his K’s have increased.
Not that I’m complaining. As I’ve said before, I have a deep-seeded hate for the guy, and the more he wants to swing at shit out of the zone, the better for us.
The worst was the one he swung at from Felix last night. It ended up going to the backstop.
And he reached even though he struck out. It was the most ridiculous swinging strike I’ve ever seen.

God do I hate him.
I don’t even respect him as an opponent. I just hate him.

If it is not in the pitch tracker
Vlad Guerrero will not swing at it.
Anything else is fair game.

Didn't pitch 3 bounce in the grass in front of the plate?
And he almost swung at that one too.
