Well Cedeno's never getting another start
Well yeah Yuni hit him in the head with a frying pan and I think it broke Cedeno's neck
He blew his chance.
He did have a bad day,

but I like to think that Wak and Z will give him another shot. Z got him in that trade for a reason. They know defense is more than fielding percentage and a stupid error, when Ronny (by my judgment) would have saved about 5 hits up the middle over the last week.

Look at all the shots they’ve given Yuni. Plus, the pressure from Ronny has led to slightly better PAs lately (2 walks). Competition is good and I say they should keep it up.

They are fair men.

They won’t base any decision on one game. He’ll get his chances. Lord knows they’ve given Yuni many, many chances.

That's if you believe that Ronny being in the lineup today was indicative of them starting to bench Yuni for poor performance

Rather than them just giving him the night off.

The chart looks our season, its going downhill

AMIRITE?

Ichiro hurts this team by not going 4 for 4 today
Selfish.
Caller who is sick of hearing that the Mariners are rebuilding, they've been rebuilding for 32 years and have never won anything of consequence and he's tired of it.

oh, and he’s a Yankees fan.

um, ok. Thanks for taking the time to call!

Why do you inflict this upon yourself?

I’m worried about you, man.

Hmm.

The postgame show.
Ian Furness.
The Dori Monson Show.
KUOW presents, talking about the Montlake Fill

Washburn's FIP after today: 3.57.

Probably similar tRA too.

What...in...the...world.....
Willie Ballgame is a living stereotype

Say what you want about the man, but at least he's sincere.
I need to learn to .gif so that I can loop the last portion so WFB just repeatedly paddles the umps ass.
I like how Yuni is running the bases in the background.
This frightens me
A fun fact

If we had failed to win those two comebacks against Oakland, we’d be in the cellar right now.

So we scored a total of 2 runs of off Ponson and Bannister.

I think our offense might suck. I also think i hate Rob Johnson.

You should consider writing people's SBN signatures as a free service.
Hahahahaha!
Ahh I see what you did there.
So switch the "your" to "you're" in your signature already.
Are you talking about the typo, or the other thing?
Read it again. Then read the signature.

You’ll get it. It took me a second as well.

We scored a total of 3 runs off of Padilla, Ponson and Bannister.

I think “might” is a bit of an understatement.

Actually, it was 2 runs off Padilla, Ponson and Bannister.

The run today came off of Soria.

On the plus side, Texas lost.
Ugh this team is starting to REALLY piss me off
Silver Lining

(Because otherwise I have to focus on the putrescent, rotting insides.)

I’m glad to see Wak change the lineup today…at least in terms of putting Cedeno at short and Gutz in the two hole. Not sure about Balentien in left with Washburn pitching…but the team needs some hitting so why not?

As bad as this is, it’s NOT like last year’s team. There clearly IS a floor below which the manager will not continue wth the status quo. That floor seems to be three games with crappy hitting.

Our offense loves helping shitty pitchers.

Its a shame.

Throwback!

After taking some time to reflect

I’m not too worried about this team going forward. Sure, the team has to work on getting the offense going but the true talent level of offense isn’t THIS bad. Not unless you’re only expecting 400-450 runs scored for the season.

The team got shut down by Vicente Padilla, Sidney Ponson, and Brian Bannister. It didn’t do so because they couldn’t hit them. It did so because they did a terrible job at trying to hit them (although their work against Bannister was an improvement). What’s really nice is Wak knowing and understanding that the offense hasn’t been doing what it should and letting pitchers (like the former two) cruise into late innings.

Also, pitching among the Felix/Bedard/Washburn group remains solid. Outside of something catastrophic even if one fades a bit you can count on the other two. Plus now there’s an added benefit of not having Silva tank every five days. Although, starters four and five are still a bit of a wild card. They’re going to be filled with any number of starts from Jakubauskas, RRS, Jason Vargas, Garret Olson, or Carlos Silva Reborn.

Had a feeling the team would need the cushion from that hot start to allow for some time to address certain aspects of the team that really haven’t been tackled when the team was winning.

Agreed let us figure things out now while we have a pretty decent chance at the AL West title still

Is a bad contract trade still possible? Like a Silva-Zito swap or something?

That would be horribly unfair to the Giants. Zito is almost decent.
Although he does have 4 years left on his contract....
