OlSalty - June 1, 2009
That's not a finger and you know it.
Slurvey - June 1, 2009
His face is SOOOOO BIGGG!!!!!!
Seattle Rodiners - June 1, 2009
I just played a softball game that went similarly like every game the Mariners have lost this year.
Except we can’t sell everyone when we suck
d0nkey - June 1, 2009
This happened?
.Taylor - June 1, 2009
I can't believe we were shutout.
Poochie - June 1, 2009
I can.
Seattle Rodiners - June 1, 2009
Sadder thing is.
The last 20 batters were retired.
Fin - June 1, 2009
This team is unbelievable
Dewey N - June 1, 2009
Sometimes it's like you say the opposite of what you mean.
CapSea - June 1, 2009
SELL SELL SELL!
waldo rojas - June 1, 2009
BLOW IT UP!
Fin - June 1, 2009
SHIT FOR SALE!!! HOT STEAMY SHIT FOR SALE@!@
d0nkey - June 1, 2009
Boy, it sure is too bad Ichiro didn't score!
.Taylor - June 1, 2009
Wait what happened behind where his face is?
:(
patsfan - June 1, 2009
I can live with this game
because in it Morrow gifted us the double wank.
Manzanillos Cup - June 1, 2009

Decatur - June 1, 2009
The best part is the security cop slowly turning his head, as if he's asking himself, "he's not making fun of me, is he?"
Benne - June 1, 2009
Morrow: "The Gunslinger"
Decatur - June 1, 2009
EVACUATE THE PLANE...IT'S CRASHING!!
kentroyals5 - June 1, 2009
hawt
vivaelpujols - June 1, 2009
I like watching the endless stream of guys disappear behind that metal pole.
Eyebrows - June 2, 2009
I blame this loss on Ichiro, who was too selfish about his stats to not steal home.
Benne - June 1, 2009
This isn't singling you out but can we please let the Ichiro being selfish jokes die a little bit?
Mariner John - June 1, 2009
Benne hurts the website by overusing already dead memes.
JLProck - June 1, 2009
Duly noted.
My tendency to overuse memes isn’t helped by the fact that I’m rarely sober while participating in game threads.
Benne - June 2, 2009
What if you aren't joking?
I really do think he should have just said “Aww fuck it.” and stolen home.
thewyrm - June 1, 2009
Everybody else is this year.
There’s been, what… about a half dozen thefts of home so far this year?
johnbai - June 2, 2009
We are so fucking bad.
Aaron Campeau - June 1, 2009
Agreed
Mejeh - June 1, 2009
Hey, I met you!
I enjoyed that part of the game, at least.
BrettJMiller - June 1, 2009
I liked it because I could ignore the baseball part.
Aaron Campeau - June 1, 2009
Rob Johnson was at the plate.
Matthew - June 1, 2009
We would have won if I was not "That Guy."
Sec 108 - June 1, 2009
Why wouldn't you want Yuni to swing?
BrettJMiller - June 2, 2009
After sleeping on it I stand by my desire for Yuni to not swing.
I also do not believe my expressing said desire for him to not swing has in any way created a difficult workplace for the Mariners.
Sec 108 - June 2, 2009
Adrian Beltre
Go away.
You suck.
Sam Regens - June 1, 2009
and take the monkey with you
Sam Regens - June 1, 2009
Only one of these things needs to happen
seattlebruin - June 1, 2009
Seriously
Aaron Campeau - June 1, 2009
Ugh
Aaron Campeau - June 1, 2009
What you said.
BrettJMiller - June 1, 2009
Actually I think this was worse than getting shut out by Matt Palmer
OlSalty - June 1, 2009
You mean because we won that game?
Jeff Sullivan - June 1, 2009
Something like that
OlSalty - June 1, 2009
Also because Hill 2-hit us
OlSalty - June 1, 2009
GODGODGODGODGODGODOGDOGODGODGOD
Aaron Campeau - June 1, 2009
Weren't we shut out by him twice?
Poochie - June 1, 2009
Nah he didn't shut us out the first time we faced him
OlSalty - June 1, 2009
In fact we scored five runs in five innings
Jeff Sullivan - June 1, 2009
Well I'll be a son of a bitch
Poochie - June 1, 2009
So on a scale of one to Wainwright, how happy should I be that Rob Johnson has suffered (what I can only assume is) a painful injury?
Poochie - June 1, 2009
You should be Betancourt.
Happy as a retarded monkey with a lifetime supply of bananas.
Mariner John - June 1, 2009
I needed the butthol rule for this one.
Mariner John - June 1, 2009
I like the chart at least.
Brendan Scolari - June 1, 2009
Wak
ThundaPC - June 1, 2009
"A guy like Rich Hill" meaning "Anyone capable of throwing a baseball to a catcher"
abender20 - June 2, 2009
GOD
royalcurve - June 2, 2009
Seriously, our offense is so A Gay it's not even funny.
Aaron Campeau - June 1, 2009
Washburn was pretty cool about getting fucked by his teamates tonight.
via Geoff Baker
thewyrm - June 1, 2009
I've personally never heard him really place blame on other players for anything
gregrabble - June 1, 2009
He threw Johjima under an armada of buses last year.
Teej - June 2, 2009
Ah.
gregrabble - June 2, 2009
Doesn't an armada imply some sort of hostile intent?
seattlebruin - June 2, 2009
Washburn spends a lot of time around school buses.
I imagine he could charter a few to run over Joh.
Teej - June 2, 2009
Me either...
except that whole Japanese catcher/want my own catcher deal.
By the way, was searching for the jpeg of him throwing Kenji under the bus, I found the Jeff knife thread. Still funny
Brian Floyd - June 2, 2009
Even though I know opinion of Washburn is low around here.
I feel bad for the guy. I know wins as a statistic is pointless, but the guy deserves some sort of reward for his pitching. I can’t find Washburn’s tRA, but he has been pretty solid.
Fin - June 2, 2009
4.55
Brian Floyd - June 2, 2009
4.55. 9% above average this season.
Teej - June 2, 2009
Why haven't we traded him yet?
Hopefulmsfan - June 2, 2009
We just got a big step closer with that performance
johnbai - June 2, 2009
The last time he had any run support was his penultimate year as an Angel...
what else is there to say at this point?
msb - June 2, 2009
Woa.
Goose - June 2, 2009
Wak's after game comments
Wak, get a clue already. You’re the numskull who’s batting Yuni and Beltre behind Ichiro.
It was a goshdam waste of some nice pitching again, for the upteenth time.
If Yuni and Beltre are still in those spots tomorrow, I feel that my basic like for Wakamatsu will turn to dislike.
Sam Regens - June 2, 2009
Meh, Wak can only use what he's given to work with.
Tom Tango said somewhere on The Book Blog that the difference between the worst ordered lineup and the best ordered lineup is 10-15 runs per season, or less than 0.1 runs per game. Wouldn’t have made a lick of difference where they hit – we’d still get shut down by the creepiest guy of the year (Hill). Wakamatsu’s gotta play Yuni so GMZ can unload him, while Beltre’s still about an average player even with his atrocious hitting because his defense is so stellar – and no matter where you put them, they’ll hurt you, but they both need to play if they are to be traded this year.
Decatur - June 2, 2009
The batting order doesn't really matter that much.
There’s an immense lack of hitting talent on this team. It’s not Wak’s fault.
Teej - June 2, 2009
But Griffey!
seattlebruin - June 2, 2009
I keep forgetting he's on the team, honestly.
Teej - June 2, 2009
he's saving baseball quietly this time
pdb - June 2, 2009
It's still bad process to let Yuni bat second and then use him only to bunt repeatedly.
abender20 - June 2, 2009
If Wak insists on bunting early in the game, it's probably best to use his shittiest hitter.
In summary: Fuck.
Teej - June 2, 2009
Incredibly, there is absolutely no way Yuniesky Betancourt is the worst hitter among the starters
in fact, he may not even be the second-worst
seattlebruin - June 2, 2009
Gross.
Teej - June 2, 2009
FUCK
abender20 - June 2, 2009
I count Rob Johnson as a DH on defense and a pitcher on offense
abender20 - June 2, 2009
I hate us.
.Taylor - June 2, 2009
In fact, I'm going to kill myself right now.
.Taylor - June 2, 2009
I don't know if you heard, but I hate this team and am going to kill myself. Just b t dubs.
.Taylor - June 2, 2009
pics or it didn't happen
pdb - June 2, 2009
How is it possible
that this loss feels worse than Sunday’s? Sunday’s was a complete feeling of oncoming disaster, but this…this was just a slowly deflating tire all the way from start to finish. You know it’s gonna be flat, and yet you can’t stop it.
pdb - June 2, 2009
Easy answer, we were shut down by Rich Hill. Ouch!
Sec 108 - June 2, 2009
Yeah, that is pretty brutal
pdb - June 2, 2009
Also, I was ready for Aardsma to have a meltdown
as he was overdue. So that didn’t bother me that much. It wasn’t as bad, either, as Morrow, because was hopefully going to be good and Aardsma’s just a reasonable pro who puts in a day’s work.
ignacio - June 2, 2009
So, in a competition of the creeps, who wins?
Vicente Padilla had that necromancer look. You just know he’ll be the one to raise the Army of the Dead and use it to rise to ultimate power. Rich Hill looks like you’d find him outside your window on a stormy night with a frying pan, some steak sauce, and a hankerin’ for some of your left thigh.
JLProck - June 2, 2009
Gerald Laird always wins.
Toxicadam - June 2, 2009
I may go with Shelly Duncan
but Adam Jones had that zombie thing going last year as well.
marc w - June 2, 2009
Nothing about Gerald Laird is creepy and everything about Gerald Laird is adorable
Jeff Sullivan - June 2, 2009
Especially sideways
abender20 - June 2, 2009
I prefer spinning Gerald.
JLProck - June 2, 2009
Never forget John Rheinecker
Robert - June 2, 2009
Or
abender20 - June 2, 2009
Kill it!
royalcurve - June 2, 2009
You think he's a deviant?
abender20 - June 2, 2009
Juicy!
royalcurve - June 2, 2009
I'm starting to think that this team isn't very good.
Poochie - June 2, 2009
I blame the defense for making me believe a little bit.
Teej - June 2, 2009
*run prevention
Teej - June 2, 2009
Belief in the Mariner defense
is the only thing that is keeping me interested in this season right now.
pdb - June 2, 2009
Waiting to see what sort of haul Z brings in via trade isn't doing it for you?
That is the thing I am looking forward to the most.
jimmylauderdale - June 2, 2009
I really don't ever care about trade speculation or drafts or anything
no matter how good the FO is. Unlike Bavasi, I trust that Z knows what he’s doing, and that’s as far as I need to take it – speculation annoys me.
pdb - June 2, 2009
I wish we had more you
Matthew - June 2, 2009
I'll gain weight
pdb - June 2, 2009
You can have mine.
Sec 108 - June 2, 2009
yeah, you seem to have a lot to spare
what do you weigh, about 74 pounds?
pdb - June 2, 2009
Anything under 75 is just showing off
abender20 - June 2, 2009
I carry a lot of guilt and anger in my lower torso and upper thighs.
Not many people realize this, but there is a lot of mass in both of those making me much heavier than I look.
Sec 108 - June 2, 2009
that's heavy, man
whoa
pdb - June 2, 2009
He's just trying to say he has a big 'ol dingdong.
Eyebrows - June 2, 2009
We were having a serious discussion about Sec 108's problems with guilt eating and you go and do that.
Way out of line.
abender20 - June 2, 2009
Yay another sub-thread winds up in penis land.
Least when the boat sinks he has a built in rudder for his built in flotation device. Very efficient of him.
Kermit. - June 2, 2009
Is it a rudder or a keel?
abender20 - June 2, 2009
Oh, the speculation is horribly annoying
I just look forward to the end result.
jimmylauderdale - June 2, 2009
Remember the Richie Sexson for Tim Hudson rumor?
I was forever jaded after believing in that one.
Rollo Tomasi - June 2, 2009
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!
Creepycreepycreepycreepycreepy!
section331 - June 2, 2009
Hey, now imagine him with clown hair and clown make up!
Whispering “waaaake uuuup… waaaaake uuuuup…..”
Kermit. - June 2, 2009
As long as I can see the thumb at all times
Everything will be ok…..
