Unless it is a stellar performance we vote for our guys
Hernandez pitched very well and Lopez and a great game. However our board is a “homer” board like most are so we tend to vote for our guys. Don’t feel disrespected in the least. Just read our game thread. We are much more critical of our players than you can imagine.
I saw a local Orioles commercial with some random guy saying Markasis had the greatest throw he ever saw (gunned Johnny Damon at home) and I remarked how he must of not seen Ichiro’s 3rd base throw to get Terrance Long awhile back.
An Oriole fan heard my comment and stated Markasis was better defensively and that I was biased for saying Ichiro was better. I really didn’t see it being close, personally…Markasis has a good arm…but thats about it.
And he isn’t black like Beltre, so after thinking about it, I would say that Ichiro is actually a very good comparison as both have good range and very strong arms.
Nick probably has a better gun while Ichiro covers more ground, though.
We are talking about a potential HOFer (Ichiro) at this point and a guy (Markakis) the book is still out on. We are both lucky to have talent so good to enjoy. And personally the Clemente throw in the WS against the O’s was the best throw from RF to 3B i have ever seen.
Bitches

He had 3 hits!
Clearly that was the most important part of this game, which is why the Orioles wo…
marinerdan - June 10, 2009
And the other 22% were probably fans who thought Ramon Hernandez and Javy Lopez were still on the team.

I don't actually care and I don't feel the least bit disrespected
I just always think these things are funny.
Jeff Sullivan - June 10, 2009
We can imagine a lot
Graham MacAree - June 10, 2009
Meaning yes, we are very critical at our team too.
Fin - June 11, 2009
We have a feeling Olsen will seek revenge tomorrow
Baysox39 - June 10, 2009
In other news, Lackey continues to blow goats
Bearskin Rugburn - June 10, 2009
Even Yankees fans voted for Morrow in that one game.
JY - June 10, 2009
I would hope so. They only got like 1 hit off of him
Rudy4three - June 10, 2009
Really?
I thought the Yankees started every game off with 10 hits based on them being a storied franchise.
exitfare - June 10, 2009
Please, like objective fans would waste a text on a silly poll.
perpetualstudent - June 10, 2009
You're taking this a little too seriously
Jeff Sullivan - June 10, 2009
This shit is dead serious
How dare you.
Baltimo - June 10, 2009
Isn't getting the other team to troll a dead meme?
Poochie - June 10, 2009
Heh, I like to think I'm a bit of a Mariners fan, too.
I read LL everyday.
perpetualstudent - June 10, 2009
That's odd.
I don’t understand how you can root for another AL team and spend time at this blog.
Eyebrows - June 10, 2009
How is that odd?
If you’re an Angels fan in Seattle, then aren’t you in the same position?
perpetualstudent - June 10, 2009
Now comes the part where I tell you to read LL more!
Jeff Sullivan - June 10, 2009
Make sure to remind him to click on the banner ads, too.
Wilder. - June 10, 2009
No, that's completely different.
Poochie - June 10, 2009
I think you missed something
pakipaki - June 10, 2009
Hey, you're RIGHT!
royalcurve - June 10, 2009
Boys! Get the rope!
JLProck - June 10, 2009
WOAH WOAH WOAH
Now you just talkin crazy!
qrsouther - June 10, 2009
Because this blog is so "other team" friendly.

Nick Markasis vs. Ichiro.
Who is the better defender in RF? Im asking you smart dudes to settle an argument.
Slica - June 10, 2009
UZR says Markakis has been awful in RF this year
-21.8 runs/150
OlSalty - June 10, 2009
Thanks guys.

Slica - June 10, 2009
Bingo
For Markakis, it’s all arm.
Jeff Sullivan - June 10, 2009
It amuses me that an Oriole fan would claim a Mariner fan was being biased for disagreeing that a Mariner RF is better
at defense than an Oriole RF.
Matthew - June 11, 2009
Markakis probably would have been a gold glover last year on a contending team
Baltimo - June 11, 2009
A Young/Jeter type of Gold Glove or a Adrian Beltre type of Gold Glove.
joof - June 11, 2009
He's not flashy like Jeter
And he isn’t black like Beltre, so after thinking about it, I would say that Ichiro is actually a very good comparison as both have good range and very strong arms.
Nick probably has a better gun while Ichiro covers more ground, though.
Baltimo - June 11, 2009
I don't think you understand the statement.
Jeter and Young are “fielders” in the vague sense that you could say I “enjoy” stepping on a thumbtack. In other words, not at all.
Beltre, on the other hand, is a superb fielder by all measures, both catching and throwing.
Faux - June 11, 2009
Yeah
I don’t speak Seattle.
Baltimo - June 11, 2009
Yes this is the issue, obviously.
Aaron Campeau - June 12, 2009
Ichiro, but that's waaaaaaay too small of a sample.
Aaron Campeau - June 11, 2009
Yes.
He has ranked above average in previous years (including +12 last year), and at least by reputation he has good range and a really strong arm.
Teej - June 11, 2009
Ichiro
Graham MacAree - June 10, 2009
Ichiro at this point
