You know, I really think this team might be in the division race for the long hall.
The AL West is just that weak. I mean they’re only 4.5 back despite essentially only getting offense from Ichiro and Branyan, having shaky starters at 4 & 5 in the rotation, and possessing an unnerving bullpen.
SethGrandpa - June 10, 2009
I agree with you.
M'sin.. - June 10, 2009
That's going to depend on a lot of things, so I really have no idea, but I don't see anyone walking away with the division any time soon
gregrabble - June 10, 2009
Although this team definately needs improvement offensively.
I’d really hate to throw this season away given that no team appears to be good enough to take charge of the division.
ThundaPC - June 10, 2009
Agree completely.
The pitching and outfield defense have been very good, but we need a need to upgrade our offense. A left-handed power bat would be awesome. The division appears to be up for grabs, I’d like us to grab it. The playoffs are a crapshoot, so it is nice to feel optomistic in early June.

Tomorrow we get back to .500
For realz

Odd this team
Jose Lopez leads the pack in RBI’s by a lot — yet he’s Jose Lopez!
Paytheline - June 10, 2009
Jose Lopez is a very good player.
joof - June 10, 2009
Yeah. The ladies love 'im!

I just like seeing Felix get Ws
because they matter to him, and I want him to feel good about playing in Seattle.

I hear the Ms have the best ERA
We all know how important THAT is.
msb - June 10, 2009
Well to pitcher talent it means nothing but as a unit it means that we don't allow earned runs often.
Unless we let up a lot of unearned runs this is a decent thing, at least that’s how I see it. It also means that we’re probably due for a huge implosion soon from our pitchers because of a ton of poor tRA’s.
Kirk - June 11, 2009
Actually, team ERA means a lot
it’s individual ERA that sucks
seattlebruin - June 11, 2009
Same with RBIs.
Fin - June 11, 2009
Team Pitcher wins and losses have a 1.0 correlation with team record.
joof - June 11, 2009
S owhen re we trading fr Adam Dunn and Matt Holliday?
Poochie - June 10, 2009
oh gosh
Poochie - June 10, 2009
Bottoms up. Spell-check on.
Do you want them both and who would you be willing to part with to get them?
Sinking Away - June 10, 2009
Spell check is on
Poochie - June 10, 2009
I've heard that Washington will just dump Dunn's salary if some brave team wants to take on that
money, in this economy. It isn’t a huge amount, but I doubt the M’s would be interested
Rudy4three - June 10, 2009
I hear they might have a good pitching prospect in their system soon.
PDXTai - June 10, 2009
Yeah, Stra-something or other, but I here he's pretty good.
russak - June 10, 2009
Dunn has been roughly as valuable as Endy Chavez this year.
Getting his bat in the lineup would be nice, but he would need to DH to be of much help.
Teej - June 11, 2009
Gutz' knee? Anyone heard anything at all?
Kermit. - June 10, 2009
No further update as of yet.
