No time to write anything tonight. This team is unbeatable. Here.
In the eighth inning, Brian Giles hit a foul line drive that nailed a guy in the section next to us in the forehead and brought out the EMTs. Brian Giles: turning San Diego against him, one fan at a time.

It's so nice seeing Griffey as a hero again.
Instead of the biggest suckfest three days in a row. I’ve almost forgotten about that series against Colorado already. That was last year right?
Hopefulmsfan - June 18, 2009
per Stone
for what its worth.
“Wakamatsu said that he thought Ken Griffey Jr. took some of the best swings he’s taken all year. He said Griffey made an adjusment that helps him use the whole ballpark, witnessed by his opposite-field double. He believes that bodes well for Griffey’s future performance.”

I know these are rarely true,
but when it is a player you like it is always exciting to see this a little bit.
CapSea - June 18, 2009
Any idea how far Lopez' home run went?
Could be interesting to see him hitting a bomb just after you said he hasn’t shown that kind of power. Griffey did that to you a few weeks ago when you said he was finished.
I heard his homer was upper-deck…and San Diego isn’t exactly a small stadium.
Slica - June 18, 2009
Loafie's homer landed four rows from me =(
seattlebruin - June 18, 2009
GET FASTER
abender20 - June 18, 2009
Did you cry like a little girl?
Kirsten Schlewitz - June 18, 2009
I would have been on TV =(
seattlebruin - June 18, 2009
And we could have giffed you flinging small children from the second deck in order to find Loafie's tater.
abender20 - June 18, 2009
Too bad it wasn't the day before because Brett Boone could have come down to console and cry with you.
joof - June 18, 2009
Front row of the upper deck in left
Good shot, but not a bomb. Hundley’s homer was also deceptively short (but unthinkably impressive).
Jeff Sullivan - June 18, 2009
Headley?
seattlebruin - June 18, 2009
Also, on back-to-back nights, we watched starting pitchers have quality starts
in which they did not give up a base hit in the field of play
seattlebruin - June 18, 2009
Headley
Hundley was the one who retarded everything up for the Padres. Nice job, brain.
Jeff Sullivan - June 18, 2009
Perhaps your brain is too concerned with Heatley
Kirsten Schlewitz - June 18, 2009
Sigh.
the Pirate Giles was much more fun.
Nick Hundley took out Scott Miller’s computer in the press box. The Padres as a whole are working on alienating the press corps.
msb - June 18, 2009
I watched that ball hit the back of his monitor!
Jeff Sullivan - June 18, 2009
My abilities to call Jose Lopez home runs at agmes I go to are getting cooler by the day
seattlebruin - June 18, 2009
It would be more impressive if you didn't call Loafie homeruns at every possible moment.
abender20 - June 18, 2009
I called an upper-deck shot before the game started
seattlebruin - June 18, 2009
You're sick
abender20 - June 18, 2009
But do you do this every game?
Kirsten Schlewitz - June 18, 2009
Surprisingly, I don't call Loafie homers all that often
seattlebruin - June 18, 2009
Does anyone else find it fun
That Carp added more at the plate with his one walk than everyone but four other guys? Clearly, this is a sign.
Jeff Nusser - June 18, 2009
Sorry, three other guys
They didn’t teach us to count in English teacher school.
Jeff Nusser - June 18, 2009
I was quite impressed by the composure Carp showed at the plate.
I also liked how the announcers made a comment about how many players have drawn a walk in their first ML AB, and went on to say that Yuni took almost 100 PAs before he drew his first walk.
d0nkey - June 18, 2009
I feel like the announcers take a shot at Yuni whenever they can, and I love it.
Zwakamatsu - June 18, 2009
Zero players have ever drawn a walk in their first MLB at-bat
Graham MacAree - June 18, 2009
Well actually, Mike Carp just did, so there's one
seattlebruin - June 18, 2009
Whoosh
Sec 108 - June 18, 2009
I think it was more of an ever drying spiral of sarcasm than whoosh.
Aaron Campeau - June 18, 2009
So your saying my first use of whoosh was a failure?
Sec 108 - June 18, 2009
Fuck! ^you're
Sec 108 - June 18, 2009
I don't even know anymore, man.
Aaron Campeau - June 18, 2009
I'm okay with that.
I fail at everything the first time.. Except for math, I rocked that shit sideways.
Sec 108 - June 18, 2009
No he did not
A plate apearance that results in a walk does not count as an at-bat.
vj - June 18, 2009
I got served
d0nkey - June 18, 2009
Now I must serve you back so that it's on
d0nkey - June 18, 2009
Chris Woodward recalled, Jose Lopez on bereavement leave
Larry Stone has the info.
ThundaPC - June 18, 2009
RONNY RONNY RONNY RONNY
abender20 - June 18, 2009
Goodness gracious.
I wonder if sb has sent flowers.
Kirsten Schlewitz - June 18, 2009
DON'T JUMP, SB!
abender20 - June 18, 2009
Relax
bereavement leave is seven days, which means he has to come back by next Thursday, or a game I have tickets to
