When Lopez comes back they’ll get rid of one of the infielders. Activating Wilson for Chavez is just the easiest thing for them to do right now, it gives them some time to decide on what they want to do in LF.
I hate Chavez with every bone in my body for that one catch against Scott Rolen and the Cards in the NLCS, but I’d never wish knee injuries on anyone because I’ve been through them and it sucks.
You weren’t good, but you weren’t bad either, and you worked your ass off and seemed like a good guy too. I hope your play this season has been enough for a team to offer you a contract for next season.
ACL tears/O’Donoghue’s Triad (ACL/MCL/meniscus) injuries, they tend to affect cutting and jinking more than straight-line speed. Is that really an issue for an outfielder more than the fact that he’s over 30?
Well, that is not good news.
jimmylauderdale - June 20, 2009
Fuck.
That was one of the scariest collisions I’ve witnessed. The cartwheel may have been impressive but it was terrifying.
Kirsten Schlewitz - June 20, 2009
And TV doesn't really give you a good perspective on how hard two players can collide.
So when you see a collision on TV that makes you cringe, you know that it had to be a bad one.
faceplant_04 - June 20, 2009
Dammit hell ass.
Aaron Campeau - June 20, 2009
Well that sucks.
Could this possibly mean that Saunders will take his place?
Fin - June 20, 2009
Depends what they want to do with the playing time I imagine.
Matthew - June 20, 2009
I wonder if there are any good defensive outfielders floating around on the waiver wire?
jimmylauderdale - June 20, 2009
LaRue seems to think that it's Josh Wilson.

Please no

Baker says that Saunders "needs more time in AAA" according to the M's
Brian Floyd - June 20, 2009
Baker's reporting that Zduriencik thinks Saunders "needs more time" in AAA.
Sounds like they just want Saunders to be able to play everyday. Get ready for more Wlad, and Cedeno WOOOO!

I feel this is partially Yuni's fault.

I feel that a nuclear reaction is partially the deuterium's fault.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
It hasn’t even been one game and I already miss Endy.
MFAN - June 20, 2009
AARRRRGHH
gregrabble - June 20, 2009
Well, probably your last chance here, Wlad.
I would appreciate if you didn’t go all barkey with it.
Matthew - June 20, 2009
Soooo, they are just going to give Endy's roster spot to Josh Wilson.
Because clearly the team needs to carry 3 backup middle infielders.
God, I’d even rather have Prentice Redman than Josh Wilson.
faceplant_04 - June 20, 2009
I have a feeling we'll be down to two backup MIFers soon.
Aaron Campeau - June 20, 2009
Just for now it makes sense.
When Lopez comes back they’ll get rid of one of the infielders. Activating Wilson for Chavez is just the easiest thing for them to do right now, it gives them some time to decide on what they want to do in LF.
MFAN - June 20, 2009
Fair enough.
I see the logic.
faceplant_04 - June 20, 2009
I'm more just frustrated that I'm going to have to endure Josh Wilson actually playing.
faceplant_04 - June 20, 2009
It is not the best solution, but Woodward and Cedeno can both play OF.
Likely just a temporary solution, however.
jimmylauderdale - June 20, 2009
I want Redman, too
Not because he’s an improvement, but because he can do this
Brian Floyd - June 20, 2009
Screw that, I want Womack!
faceplant_04 - June 20, 2009
That's one of the most mind boggling things I've ever seen. I'm hypnotized.
Zwakamatsu - June 20, 2009
Lame
At least it looked way cooler than when Doyle and Guillen did it.
Robert - June 20, 2009
Fucking sorcerer.

Well, figured it would be bad.

Thanks for your time with us Endy

Graham MacAree - June 20, 2009
Good Lord that's a vicious injury
JLC - June 20, 2009
From what I understand about football injuries
ACL tears/O’Donoghue’s Triad (ACL/MCL/meniscus) injuries, they tend to affect cutting and jinking more than straight-line speed. Is that really an issue for an outfielder more than the fact that he’s over 30?
Tube - June 20, 2009
Changing direction is important in the OF.
Aaron Campeau - June 21, 2009
That sucks. Good luck to him.
