Tacoma Top 8th
Pitcher Change: Jose Marte replaces Seth Etherton.
Prentice Redman strikes out swinging.
Michael Saunders doubles (11) on a fly ball to left fielder Trent Oeltjen.
Injury Delay.
Offensive Substitution: Pinch runner Jerry Owens replaces Michael Saunders.
Ruh-rohs. Please be nothing.
Update 2212: Apparently it's a strained hamstring which is a pretty happy outcome all things considered. He slid into second a little too hard and had to come out, but it didn't look too severe. H/T: nvn8vbryce at USSM

Oh, good.
OlSalty - June 29, 2009
Stop getting injured, everyone.
ThundaPC - June 29, 2009
I predict that next game Branyan gets hit by lightning.
And Felix gets abducted by aliens. And Gutz spontaneously combusts.
I Lick Squirrels - June 29, 2009
Too optimistic.
HHZ - June 29, 2009
How about a large black bear?
msb - June 29, 2009
I believe Gutz does regularly.
Branyan, I doubt.

Argh.
There is some religious channel completely obliterating my ability to tune the station in.

Sadly, with my machine, it takes less time to find the sweet spot in the kitchen than it does to get media to connect online ...
msb - June 29, 2009
Thanks, Paul, that is nice & clear.
msb - June 29, 2009
If only it worked on my iPhone :-(
PositivePaul - June 29, 2009
Moving the radio to the back of the stove, and laying in on its side has somewhat defeated the Powers For Good, and I can hear Curto.
“appeared to strain a hamstring”, says Curto
msb - June 29, 2009
Apparently a quad or hamstring injury per a guy on ussmariner who is at the game.
kentroyals5 - June 29, 2009
Fuck X infinity.
Good thing we have Langerhans?
JY - June 29, 2009
That's what I was thinking.
kentroyals5 - June 29, 2009
It doesn't sound like it's very serious but we'll see
OlSalty - June 29, 2009
Everything is serious!!
kentroyals5 - June 29, 2009
Curto on the audio feed says strained hamstring
PositivePaul - June 29, 2009
The announcer just said it appears to be a strained hamstring
OlSalty - June 29, 2009
What the hell God
HHZ - June 29, 2009
I turned on MiLB.com Gameday as soon as I got home from the gym and Saunders was batting :-/
Graham MacAree - June 29, 2009
Jeffie!
OlSalty - June 29, 2009
And Shelton just tied it up with a 2 run HR with 2 outs in the 9th
OlSalty - June 29, 2009
And off to extra innings.
msb - June 29, 2009
Oops. they aren't at home.
msb - June 29, 2009
2212 seriously?
make SBN change to standard time, too
seattlebruin - June 29, 2009
I'm actually 203 years in the future
Graham MacAree - June 29, 2009
We might make the playoffs this year
Graham MacAree - June 29, 2009
That's not a very definitive answer
OlSalty - June 29, 2009
If Ken Griffey XIV starts hitting better than replacement level on his reunion tour, we've got a shot
seattlebruin - June 29, 2009
I wonder if Sweeney is still on the team
OlSalty - June 29, 2009
It must be awkward having a disembodied head in a jar on the roster
But he’s really great for the clubhouse…..His aquarium is load-bearing.
OlSalty - June 29, 2009
If you can haul three large helmets, you can tote a shiny head jar.

A guy I played football with in High School
played Baseball with Jerry Owens at the Master’s College in California, says “He is the fastest person I have ever been around.”
Wooo hope Michael is okay.
appleshampoo - June 29, 2009
I hear Justin Thomas
and I visualize Juan Thomas.
It makes for some odd images.
msb - June 29, 2009
Juan Thomas pitched too.
Briefly.
JY - June 30, 2009
Yeah, but he was no Greg Pirkl.
marc w - June 30, 2009
Or Brooks Kieschnick
Sec 108 - June 30, 2009
Or Austin Bibens-Dirkx :-(
PositivePaul - June 30, 2009
Kieschnick never played for Tacoma, however.
Too bad.
marc w - June 30, 2009
True. Pirkl was so much fun in BP at the Kingdome too. Loved that guy.
Sec 108 - June 30, 2009
And as position players go, he was a pretty good pitcher.
5 IP, 1H 0 R 1K for Tacoma in ’96, then after he flamed out with Boston, he turned to pitching full time in the Indians org. His career pitching numbers were great.
marc w - June 30, 2009
I love it that Saunders auto tagged position is PH.
