I am tired of playing the Twins. Good news for me because this is the last time that we will.

Mariners got better in all three categories over the series with Baltimore, which is not too surprising when you win a game comfortably, take the series and your only loss came on a 1-0 shutout. In total, Seattle gained about six runs over the three games.

The difference between our offense and Minnesota's is laughable. Beyond the two obvious threats, Michael Cuddyer, Jason Kubel and Denard Span are all potent threats with Delmon Young's rapidly decaying career doing its best to drag them all down.

It is weird to see a Twins bullpen only as good as mediocre. Joe Nathan continues to do his best Mariano Rivera career path impression as he just never seems to get worse, but this year's supporting cast has been downright crappy.

GAMES

Game 1: Felix Hernandez vs. Francisco Liriano*
Game 2: Jarrod Washburn* vs. Nick Blackburn
Game 3: Erik Bedard* vs. Kevin Slowey

The last time we played the Twins, we faced Baker, Liriano and Backburn. The first time we played the Twins we faced Liriano, Blackburn, Slowey and Perkins. We have faced Liriano and Blackburn each time. We have had good success against Liriano in the two starts so far while Blackburn alternated walking people and getting hit with then shutting us down completely in the second go around.

Felix could face some problems from Justin Morneau and Joe Mauer but Washburn and Bedard might be the best two starters on our team to throw at those two given how Washburn has been handling left handers this season.

THIS SERIES BROUGHT TO YOU BY:

Infidel Lime IPA
Trade Route Brewing Company. Seattle, WA

An IPA brewed with kaffir lime leaves it is pretty much exactly what you might imagine, hoppy bitter combined with a touch of citrusy sour. They pull it off well with balance.

Wasn't Delmon Young supposed to turn into Vlad 2.0 at one point?
As Dave pointed out at fangraphs, I think he was supposed to be the beta version of Justin Upton.
I think every team should have their own little bit of Yuni
I'll be happy to divy him up
Sounds messy
Not if you use a quality knife and keep it sharp
32 horses, 32 lengths of rope.

Alley

Where do the 2 extra pieces go?
His genitals will be destroyed separately so that no further Yunis come along
Mrs. Betancourt says too late
Seems that RA Dickey is back on the 25 man.

Hope he gets into a game this series.

I think there's a little part inside all of us that wants to see Yuni and Beltre face RA Dickey.
What happened to Dickey? Did we trade him?

I liked that guy

I was always hoping he'd end up in Boston for a couple years and maybe learn something from Wakefield.

And come out a better pitcher after. As much as I hate the RS (3rd most hated team!), I have a soft spot for knuckleballers.

He did get some advice from Wakefield at one point last year I believe
We let him walk as a free agent.
Reply failure?
Whoa.

Yes. That was meant for d0nkey’s question about what happened to Dickey.

Advice is different than working with a guy for a season or two.
How the heck are the twins only 1/2 game ahead of us in the standings...

When they are so many runs better!?

In X W-L we are 24-30 while they are 28-27, so I guess they are 3 1/2 ahead there, but based on RAA I would expect about 5 1/2.

Luck?

It’s a 54 game sample size, we could theoretically be like 32-22 without changing our RS/RA profile much at all

Lose one game 256-0, then win a bunch of 4.4 -0 games.
That's a cool 51-1 without breaking a sweat.

And IMAGINE the Tim Kurkjian phone call after the first game.

And those were Oakland's RS/RA numbers. I'm a hero
How many runs in do you think you get to before

the manager burns through his entire pitching staff and forfeits the game?

More than 30
Mike Hargrover says 5 so you're 30 sounds pretty arbitrary
Not that this is all that scientific.

But the Twins, for where they are, have a disasterous road record.

Wooooo I'm going to the Felix game today!
