You gotta love these guys.
I hope the rotation lines up so that Felix pitches Game 1 of the World Series
I thought Batista, Johjima, Woodward, and Langerhans all played great tonight.

Nice to get those performences vs a guy like Sabathia, facing a sweep that would have negated our good work in LA.

And of course Ichiro and Gutierrez continue their stellar play. Franklin is on fire right now and it’s absurd we got a guy who is currently playing like a Top 5 centerfielder in the entire game, for a Putz and company

Great team? Or GREATEST TEAM?!
No politics.
Yankees can suck a dick.
Weeeee

Bees aren't scary.
Wrong
Swarms of anything are pretty much bad
They're huge and they're sting crazy!
That's a jacket on a chair...

What happened to the dude sitting there…

YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW
They ate the ballgirrrrrrrllllll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Said something ignorant like "prospects are unreliable because they're unproven" or something.

Then, suddenly, [bees!]

Aaaaaaand adblocked.
Ichiro

via Drayer:

He did get big points however after he caught a Francisco Cervelli fly to right. As he was jogging in he took the ball out of his glove and gave it the big underhand flip into the stands. Or so it appeared. We then heard a big boo, saw the delay on the tv and sure enough, Ichiro faked out the fans and carried the ball back to the dugout. Nice.

Awesome Ichiro, hating on Yankees fans.

That was the only part of the game that I saw.

As Slow Country so adequately stated above, the Yankees – and their fans – can suck a dick.

This felt like a really "big" win

It’s just the timing, obviously, but with Felix lined up tomorrow, we could have 4-5 on the tough roadie sewed up with two games to go for some gravy.

Great way to head to Boston.

This was an impressive series. I really thought they were going to get killed, but instead they were only roughed up a bit, mostly on the Bronx-special homer. If they can keep hitting the ball the way they have here I expect they will keep the false hope going well into August.

Apparently Damon doesn't bother to check the scouting reports..

“It seems like all those guys came in and were throwing 95 [mph],” Yankees outfielder Johnny Damon said. “They were throwing strikes and they don’t walk too many guys.”

Referring to our pen

Apparently Branyan's bomb Mohegan Sun Sports Bar that's in Yankee stadium. He's the first player to do so.
Hit it that is.
BBTN loved the HR.
I'm sorta starting to believe that this team is actually capable of winning the division

That was an impressive game, and while we lost the last two it’s not like we were completely blown out by one of the better teams in baseball in their own house. So, maybe there really is something here. Playing .500 ball against the Dodgers and Yankees is pretty darn great.

Also we really need more Langerhans.

I would say we absolutely have a chance. I think things will be a lot more clear after the deadline.
Yeah, with the division this weak, we really are just a couple pieces away from making a serious run.

Not to get my hopes up or anything.

I can't even imagine LL in a playoff atmosphere. That shit would be intense.
2007 was thhe closest we've gotten, and that was pretty wild
Lackey's resurgence worries me

And we need a 3B solution. That being said, I think we’ll stay in for at least a while.

Anyone headed to the Pitchf/x Summit next week?

Are you supplying the merkins?
Sure enough

Woven from only the finest Peruvian back hair

Z is king

I have a hunch everyone will start to appreciate Langerhans the same way they appreciate Russell, Guti, and pre-injury Endy. He makes the Bavasi sting go away.

Woo! Langerhans!

.

(linky)

Why, that site's got a veritable who's who of marginal Major Leaguers!
Even better than the Minnesota Bass Fishermen site???
Boy howdy!

Washburn has someone to lend the deer farming magazines!

Missed the game

How was Langerhans?

Russell Branyan is a fucking monster.

The best was the replay of the HR in which you see every Yankee (except Cabrera) practically get whiplash from turning around so quickly. Everyone in the stadium knew that was out the second he hit it.

Funny story: I interned with Turner Construction last summer and I was lucky enough to get assigned to the new Yankee Stadium project. So I got to see it get built all summer, which was awesome. So I go back to visit my co-workers in March on my college’s spring break, and toured the finished stadium. We went into the Batter’s Eye restaurant (the one Branyan drilled) and I asked my colleague if anyone could hit the restaurant. He said he thought it was too far out for anyone to reach. I said that I thought that a guy like A-Rod could do it once or twice a year, but everyone else seemed to have the opinion that it was too far out to dead CF for anyone to hit it. So it was awesome to see Russell prove me right.

Is there any video better than ESPN's on his Home Run?
I wish I could recall now who said it

but over the weekend, someone said they thought the new stadium was quieter, possibly because of the wider concourses, and no walls to bounce the sound back in

Dave Niehaus and Rick Rizzs were talking about that very subject in the pre-game yesterday.

Perhaps one of them was Sims, I only half half an ear tuned to the pre-game
