And that ends all that endless discussion we were having about who would go away to make room for Ryan Rowland-Smith.
The bullpen is going to be a bit thin this weekend and, as mentioned in the series preview thread, we are not exactly running out some work horses to start. Could get nervy.

Let Griffey pitch.

Happy trails, Corco
I’m glad someone had fun in 2008.
marc w - July 24, 2009
I will not miss Roy. He is exactly who I wanted DFA'd here.
Sec 108 - July 24, 2009
Yep
Bearskin Rugburn - July 24, 2009
What do you have against mud?
Kermit. - July 24, 2009
Got in my eye once. It hurt. Think I scratched a cornea or some other word ending in a.
Sec 108 - July 24, 2009
It's about time Corco went away
Though I will miss his interviews
OlSalty - July 24, 2009
All you need is for Bedard to speak with the most awesome canadian accent and that might make up for Corcoran.
Though hearing him talk would be something.
Slurvey - July 24, 2009
Bedard doesn't have a Canadian accent, so his interviews aren't fantastically exotic.
royalcurve - July 24, 2009
Yah, it is usually just the odd word or two.
of course, he could do them in French….
msb - July 24, 2009
So they swapped a crawdad accent for a vegemite one?
PositivePaul - July 24, 2009
I hear Ichiro has a good curve
David Piper - July 24, 2009
Whenever I've seen it it's been
just a bit outside.
RunningFool - July 24, 2009
I wonder if anyone's going to notice that Corco's gone
As far as the thin pen is concerned, isn’t Olson moving into the pen, giving them a long relief arm? Vargas can come up form Tacoma as well probably, and since Wak’s starting Hannahan against lefties now I guess Woodward can disappear to make room for him.
Bearskin Rugburn - July 24, 2009
Woodward's the utility guy now that :(edeno is the regular shortstop.
So if Lopez/Ronny/Hannahan get hurt, we’re boned.
I Lick Squirrels - July 24, 2009
Oh right
I forgot Wilson is in Tacoma. Well, it’s going to be Sweeney, Shelton or a short pitching staff, no way around it.
Bearskin Rugburn - July 24, 2009
Ichiro has said he would like to pitch sometime.
Maybe he will get his chance!!!
More seriously, though, for years teams operated with ten person pitching staffs. For the most part it means that the manager may be limited in bringing in a guy to face just one batter. And the starter for whom it’s the throw day can hold off throwing until after the game so that he can be available to pitch an inning.
There’s nearly a century of baseball tradition to fall back on here.
Steve Nelson - July 24, 2009
We will miss your closer's mentality.
We will not miss your pitching ability.
Fuckmikereilly - July 24, 2009
Jack Z planned this very well.
Against all odds, DFAing Corco might have actually resulted in a net increase in overall team accent awesomeness.
I Lick Squirrels - July 24, 2009
Absolutely.
kentcheesehead - July 24, 2009
If the Ms need to burn the bullpen in a series against the Indians, they have much larger problems
DFAing Corcoran doesn’t hurt at all.
Spoomeister - July 24, 2009
The Indians are a good offensive team
gregrabble - July 24, 2009
But it seems like they should suck.
Is that not enough? Oh wait…it’s not? Okay.
SethGrandpa - July 24, 2009
That was some triceps tendinitis
Bearskin Rugburn - July 24, 2009
It's good
to have Ryan Rowland (Hyphen) Smith back from the land down under (Tacoma)
HyphenFan - July 24, 2009
I didn't show tonight's game
but say yay RRS!
