…playoffs?
I Lick Squirrels - July 8, 2009
...playoffs?!
nickmo - July 8, 2009
Colorado'd.
ThundaPC - July 8, 2009
Wakamatsu's favorite word is "awful"
ThundaPC - July 8, 2009
He got the awful part right.
Seriously, Wak seems like the perfect guy managing this team. It is a refreshing change from McLaren.
Wilder. - July 8, 2009
Olson very pitched nicely today.
Slurvey - July 8, 2009
So...
Who still thinks defense isn’t important?
nickmo - July 8, 2009
We're just lucky the big three are going against Texas...
Otherwise I’d say this season is OVER.
OceanBird - July 8, 2009
We're running out Felix-Morrow-Wash-Erik so I like our chances of winning at least 2 games.
Slurvey - July 8, 2009
WHY THE FUCK WERE PEOPLE TRYING TO DO THE WAVE IN THE TOP OF THE NINTH????
Mariner John - July 8, 2009
I'm pretty sure the opposing team has scored every time the crowd has done the wave in that same inning this season.
It sure feels like it anyway. It just makes the ensuing runs even worse :(
BrettJMiller - July 8, 2009
I don't even understand why you would do it then.
Isn’t the point to rally the home team? We didn’t really need to rally in the top of the 9th. And if it’s because they’re bored, why are you at a baseball game if you’re bored in the top of the 9th when your team is winning?
Mariner John - July 8, 2009
Have you seen the segments when they ask people to spell the names of the players?
I think that explains a lot.
Craig Powers - July 9, 2009
I hate the wave.
The wave must die!
Craig Powers - July 8, 2009
This was, unfortunately, my high school mascot.
nickmo - July 8, 2009
Wow.
Right now, you guys probably need some coke even more than I do.
See you tomorrow!
JoshHamilton - July 8, 2009
Awesome
dbroncos31 - July 8, 2009
Thanks, Josh.
royalcurve - July 9, 2009
At least Lopez is becoming somewhat useful at the plate.
Hes creeping up on Griffey.
houseofprime - July 8, 2009
God I went to the gym with the 2-0 lead in the 7th.
Come out of the gym and check my phone (I have MLB alerts from espin) and saw that I had 4 new messages from the game. I immediately knew it was bad but what the fuck.
Whatever Felix will stop the bleeding
dbroncos31 - July 8, 2009
Hopefully Felix can overcome cheezburger night.
houseofprime - July 8, 2009
Oh Jesus is that tomorrow?
Poor Mariners
dbroncos31 - July 8, 2009
thank god I have no photoshop.
Felix can has cheezburger.
msb - July 8, 2009
WHAT IN THE NAME OF BLUE FUCKS HAPPENED
Poochie - July 8, 2009
The wave
and shitty defense. And Aardsma regression.
Mariner John - July 8, 2009
Pretty much sums it up
gregrabble - July 8, 2009
You
Already know what happened.
ThundaPC - July 8, 2009
I had a 98% chance of being right!
Poochie - July 8, 2009
So... Andruw Jones is hitting a HR every 10 at-bats
and we can’t get a replacement level SS… fuck this sport.
Bearskin Rugburn - July 8, 2009
How are these two related?
Mariner John - July 8, 2009
Jones is freely available talent
and he’s golden.
Bearskin Rugburn - July 8, 2009
I suppose he is freely available.
He just doesn’t seem like a SS candidate is all.
Mariner John - July 8, 2009
Yeah, a HR ever 10 at bats is nice, very nice, but we need a SS.
That’s a serious hole for the M’s. Are you suggesting Jones for DH? That’s a different story. That would be an upgrade on Griffey and Sweeney, but what about the leadership, the veteran grittiness, the pies, the smiles, the tickles, the hugs, the kisses, and the physics (is that what we’re calling it now)?
Sinking Away - July 8, 2009
There was a guy who wanted to sign him during the offseason
and word around the campfire is that gentleman was pretty handsome.
Poochie - July 8, 2009
Whoever that sexy guy was, I was fully with him.
Jones is not a guy you give up on. Not with that track record, and not at that age.
Teej - July 8, 2009
Fortunately, the Rangers are kicking Angel's butts tonight 8-1 top of the 8th.
I think the M’s will be in a good (dis)position to take 3 of 4 from Texas in the coming days.
Sinking Away - July 8, 2009
The Texas won 8-1 and are now in 1st place.
We are 4 1/2 back and our next four games are here with our best pitchers starting. Beats the heck out of our 4th place position 18 games back last year at this time. Today’s loss was tough, but this is a new year.
Sinking Away - July 8, 2009

calim - July 8, 2009
Olson is looking pretty good
I hate the stupid Orioles. They lie down for the creepy Angels and then have to show up against us. Bums.
Sam Regens - July 8, 2009
We should have let them get a 4 run lead in each game, that's when they're the weakest
gregrabble - July 9, 2009
I didn't see the game
Only occasional updates from a mobile Gameday. For those who saw, how was Aardsma? Was it pretty much just the defense that screwed him over?
Snowman1025 - July 9, 2009 via mobile
He wasn't great but the IF defense lost the game.
