That is one beautiful chart
Scrupio - July 9, 2009
Lock Felix up, Now
Anyone else like how we’re the reason the Rangers are in first, and they’re the reason we’re not? Or…its one way to look at it.
OceanBird - July 9, 2009
I've never been more turned on by a chart
gregrabble - July 9, 2009
Let's cap this shit off with another fantastic Jack Zduriencik trade
JLC - July 9, 2009
I'm guessing it won't come out tonight, sadly.
Fuckmikereilly - July 9, 2009
We should have gussied up Betancourt a bit.
Gotten his hair done or something. We were caught unawares!
royalcurve - July 9, 2009
Oh, on a side note
Felix’ reaction made Guti’s HR about 10x better for me
JLC - July 9, 2009
It's not even a side note for me, the reaction was amazing.
That homer was priceless, and the reaction by Felix made water come out of my eyes. He so deserved that. I absolutely love these guys.
Sinking Away - July 9, 2009
Yeah, Felix was absolutely pumped.
I love how he had the towel over his head, then heard the crack of the bat and jumped up and went crazy. I’m sure you could hear Felix screaming from CF if you were at the game.
d0nkey - July 10, 2009
Adam Moore is now hitting .310 in Tacoma.
I know he’s not ready and batting average is a horrible metric but I want to so badly.
Fuckmikereilly - July 9, 2009
JEFF CLEMENT!
Slurvey - July 9, 2009
But we already have an up-and-comer in Rob Johnson.
russak - July 9, 2009
You're funny.
Do you do stand-up?
SethGrandpa - July 9, 2009
And I
Jizzed
In
My pants
section331 - July 9, 2009
Am I retarded
Or has Felix modified his delivery somewhat so his back is more to the hitter before delivering the ball to the plate.
Like, Kevin Brown back to the hitter-ish.
The Typical Idiot Fan - July 9, 2009
I noticed that too. He's rotating his trunk and turning his back on the batter alot more in his windup now than before.
Decatur - July 9, 2009
Yea, I pointed that out at the game.
His wind up was very Bedard-ish.
Fin - July 9, 2009
Ok, there is my new sig.
That’s better.
Fin - July 9, 2009
Heh. That's when I noticed it.
Decatur - July 9, 2009
My only issue
Is that Kevin Brown had a ton of injury issues that a lot of people attributed to that wind-up. So that kindof sucks. Felix was interesting tonight as he was working very quickly. On a few occasions, it seemed like the Rangers weren’t even ready by the time the pitch crossed the plate. It was an excellent game, and Felix was using some new techniques that intrigued.
Bodhizefa - July 9, 2009
So your only issue is completely irrelevant
that’s good, right?
seattlebruin - July 10, 2009
Felix Hernandez's mechanics contain sodium benzoate.
Aaron Campeau - July 10, 2009
you can't spell sodium without an inverted W.
pdb - July 10, 2009
That's good
abender20 - July 10, 2009
No it's not.
Poochie - July 10, 2009
That's bad.
Phil Hatzenbuehler - July 10, 2009
That's bad.
Phil Hatzenbuehler - July 10, 2009
I have a raging semi right now.
SethGrandpa - July 9, 2009
Only a semi?
You’d better be 75 or something
otherwise shame on you
Karma Police - July 9, 2009
His screenname does have Grandpa in it
Aaron Campeau - July 9, 2009
haha how did I not notice that?
I’ll blame it on post game excitement. Yeah, that’s the ticket.
Karma Police - July 9, 2009
For the first time in years I no longer miss Mike Cameron
I mean, I still kinda miss Cameron, but I feel as if we finally have a replacement I can really like.
Yaay M’s!
Colm - July 9, 2009
The Heir
Decatur - July 9, 2009
Remember this, from GT Part 2: "Well this has been a treat"
Lordy I do love it when sarcasm suddenly gets recontextualized into passionate sincerity.
esoteric - July 9, 2009
Tonight, baseball in Seattle was saved
And playoffs!!!!
Snowman1025 - July 9, 2009 via mobile
Epic fail
Snowman1025 - July 9, 2009 via mobile
That sounds familiar

Jeff Sullivan - July 9, 2009
That's your perfect mirror image right there.
esoteric - July 9, 2009
I can't get over Felix striking out the side, and throwing repeated change ups in the dirt top of the 8th.
Nuts!
Kermit. - July 9, 2009
That was quite a inning. The pitches could not have been better.
Sinking Away - July 9, 2009
His change-up...
has basically become a split-finger pitch these days as it’s running in the low 90’s most of the time. And I gotta say, I’m fine with that.
Bodhizefa - July 9, 2009
I personally wouldn't know a split-finger pitch from a change-up, and
I don’t care. It didn’t look like the Texas could figure it out either.
Sinking Away - July 9, 2009
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was amazing.
Teej - July 9, 2009
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Jeff Sullivan - July 9, 2009
SPLLLLUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
(but all for Franklin)
esoteric - July 9, 2009
That was every bit as joyous and uplifting as yesterday's game was soul-destroying.
I love this game.
Eyeball Kid - July 9, 2009
Jackpot
abender20 - July 9, 2009
How close is Franklin becoming the best centerfielder in baseball?
Wilder. - July 9, 2009
Defensively, he has been this season I believe
Him and Matt Kemp
gregrabble - July 9, 2009

Poochie - July 9, 2009
Wow I didn't know Vernon Wells was THAT bad
Karma Police - July 9, 2009
Seven year extension!
Poochie - July 9, 2009
Wow...Nyjer Morgan's D has been insane.
SethGrandpa - July 9, 2009
I didn't realize that Torii Hunter was that average defensively.
I thought he was supposed to be really good.
Slow Country - July 9, 2009
He was a few years ago.
But ESPN still thinks he’s God.
Mariner John - July 9, 2009
Well he is almost 34 now.
And most of that time he’s been crashing into walls.
I Lick Squirrels - July 9, 2009
Torii Hunter is like the Anti-Ichiro.
Slow Country - July 9, 2009
I got into a very long argument over this with an Angels blogger
The only thing he could say was that I obviously wasn’t watching him play, and that he was making ESPN’s top plays frequently.
gregrabble - July 9, 2009
He makes a lot of jumping and diving catches but his range is not what it used to be regardless
OlSalty - July 10, 2009
Dogs catching frisbees occasionally make ESPN's top plays.
pdb - July 10, 2009
Fucking Rasmus has been flying up the charts the last week
Rudy4three - July 9, 2009
Already there with Sizemore hurt
If UZR is right about Adam Jones’ defense, Franklin blows him away.
OlSalty - July 9, 2009
Tonight, right after the cute guy in the chart hit the home run
some delinquents in my neighborhood (who have been lighting their left-over fireworks all week) lit off some more. Unlike last night, I didn’t even notice tonight. It seemed so appropriate, the homerun, the fireworks, it seemed natural. I only mention it because my daughter just reminded me that they were out there. I told her, of course they’re out there, they’re M’s fans.
Sinking Away - July 9, 2009
Those hooligans!
Fearless Frog - July 9, 2009
I heart Felix Day
coolconman - July 9, 2009
Indeed! Party all you want, M's fans.
Sinking Away - July 9, 2009
Team chemistry
brian_sun - July 9, 2009
Is the biggest comeback in WE points for the Mariner this year?
Seattle Rodiners - July 10, 2009
Can't be as low as the day we beat Oakland in 15...
Kenji hit a one-out homer to tie in the ninth and we were down three to start the bottom of 13
calim - July 10, 2009
HELLO YOU HANDSOME DEVIL
Kirsten Schlewitz - July 10, 2009
