When the ball is in the dirt in front of you, either to your left or your right, go down to one knee, towards the ball, and that way it will hit you in the big pad they call a “Chest protector” so you don’t have to be afraid of the ball hurting you.
Crazy I know, but it’s worth a try.

I’m convinced.

They showed it in slow motion over and over again. Hit him right in the pocket, his wrist folds. Again, and again, and again…

It was pretty infuriating, it was the usual kind of game for him. Maybe a little worse than usual.

Like a little green XBox 360 circle popping up on the ad space behind Rob, with the tag “Unmasked – 15 points”.

Those make the PB, “WP” that other catchers would have caught, and low CS numbers all worth it. That and the ponies he keeps for the pitching staff.

I think this is more an indication on how wicked Felix’ stuff was the other night, not necessarily how good or bad Rob Johnson is behind the dish

It took one ball in the dirt the other night to convince me Adam Moore is better behind the plate.

Worse than Hitler I tells ya
Worse than Hitler
Poochie - September 19, 2009
Rob Johnson is a good defensive catcher.
Slurvey - September 19, 2009
Just ask soci.
Wilder. - September 19, 2009
So, I think I have an idea for Rob.
When the ball is in the dirt in front of you, either to your left or your right, go down to one knee, towards the ball, and that way it will hit you in the big pad they call a “Chest protector” so you don’t have to be afraid of the ball hurting you.

ROB Johnson - Professional Catcher
I’m convinced.
ThundaPC - September 19, 2009
YES!

UHOH, NOVA
Aaron Campeau - September 20, 2009
The ball that goes up and away over his left shoulder, there was a high def camera on that right behind the ump.
They showed it in slow motion over and over again. Hit him right in the pocket, his wrist folds. Again, and again, and again…

Back...and to the left.
Back…and to the left.
waldo rojas - September 19, 2009
Ok, that finally made me laugh about it.
It was pretty infuriating, it was the usual kind of game for him. Maybe a little worse than usual.
Kermit. - September 19, 2009
I was thinking the same thing....
Big Jared - September 19, 2009
The person above the Sanyo sign is amazingly coordinated with the play.
Wilder. - September 19, 2009
I would do that too if I was that flexible.
CapSea - September 19, 2009
That first one is actually pretty tricky to do - Felix should have gotten something for pulling that off.
Like a little green XBox 360 circle popping up on the ad space behind Rob, with the tag “Unmasked – 15 points”.
Spoomeister - September 19, 2009
Still waiting for the all important designation of
Rob Johnson – “C”
Kouvre - September 19, 2009
But, those snap throws to 3B
Those make the PB, “WP” that other catchers would have caught, and low CS numbers all worth it. That and the ponies he keeps for the pitching staff.
CMC_Stags - September 20, 2009
To be fair
I think this is more an indication on how wicked Felix’ stuff was the other night, not necessarily how good or bad Rob Johnson is behind the dish
OBF - September 21, 2009
I think you are being too kind, but he will be no more than a backup soon so I don't really care.
Sec 108 - September 21, 2009
This is hardly an isolated incident
