Replay of Dave's intro to the game, they put the Lollipop song over it.

JamMaster-Rod, always there in the clutch.
Kermit. - September 29, 2009
Jam Master J would roll over in his grave if he saw that.
JamMasterJesus - September 29, 2009
Yeah, that was pretty weak.
Kermit. - September 29, 2009
Pretty much offensive in every single way.
I hate A-Rod.
JamMasterJesus - September 29, 2009
No way.

Master baiting, Kermit!
JamMasterJesus - September 29, 2009
Except not really... I just wanted to say that.
How do you link to individual comments?

Uncle, you got me.
On a Mac, it’s control-click on the time date stamp. Click on properties, copy the location and paste that into your link. Right click for Windows.

Did you have the FELIX 500 graphic prepared before the game Jeff?
TrashiDawa - September 29, 2009
Does this image bear the hallmarks of preparation?
Jeff Sullivan - September 29, 2009
Yes?
Willie Mays Haze - September 29, 2009
No
But it is instantly one of my favorite clumsily mocked-up chart images of all time
lemonverbena - September 29, 2009
The more I look at it the happier it makes me.
royalcurve - September 30, 2009
Good point.
Well done sir.
TrashiDawa - September 29, 2009
Felix.
18 wins.
10 no-decisions, 6 that went into extra innings.
msb - September 29, 2009
King Felix!
Not a Cy Young, (congratulations to Greinke) but a very good year for Felix, and his value is ours for 2 more years. I trust that Jack can do something with that. Congratulations to Felix also. That seems kind of cold. He pitched his heart out at times this year. I guess that’s how it works. He’ll get paid, and the M’s will suffer thru, as usual. I wish he could get the award this year and I wish we could re-sign him, but logic will always prevail.
Sinking Away - September 29, 2009
King Felix: A new age has begun, an age of winning. And all will know that the .500 Mariners gave their last breath to defend it.
CapSea - September 29, 2009
In their defense, this is the first year they were in a position to defend it.
This is a best defensive team the M’s (or maybe anyone has put together) that could defend their offense). No matter what they have provided the defense.
Sinking Away - September 29, 2009
It is a quote from 300.
CapSea - September 30, 2009
Yeah that movie was pretty good when no one was talking
Aaron Campeau - September 30, 2009
This will not be over quickly and you will not enjoy this. I am not your queen.
JMKaustin - September 30, 2009
Never saw it.
CapSea - September 30, 2009
On true talent, is this team better than the 2007 team?
I know both overperformed, but to what degree, I’m not sure.
Teej - September 29, 2009
This team is better.
There is actually a core to build on this offseason.
Fin - September 29, 2009
Oh I'm definitely more confident than I was after 2008.
But I’m wondering if this team is was better — just in 2009 — than the 88-win team.
Teej - September 29, 2009
Yes, by my quick estimations the 2009 team is at least a couple wins better in talent.
lailaihei - September 29, 2009
I wonder if Felix will be brought in for a relief appearance if the M's are up in the 5th inning.
If so, he could conceivably make his way to 20 wins. I know wins are meaningless to us, but they mean something to the people who vote on the Cy Young winners.
Fin - September 29, 2009
I imagine that they will do anything he agrees to to capitalize on the award.
I just don’t think he’s going to get it this year. Grenkie has a lock on it, he deserves it. I don’t think another win by the King would give him the award, but I would be happily surprised.
Sinking Away - September 29, 2009
I am pretty sure those potential vulture wins would have no impact on the voters.
They would know those last two wins were vultured.
Wilder. - September 29, 2009
Good Point. They'll know and it will make no difference as it should.
Sinking Away - September 29, 2009
If they're dumb enough to vote based on wins, there's a chance that it would make an impact on them
seattlebruin - September 30, 2009
You act as if the voters do research
Poochie - October 1, 2009
They should if there's no health issues
Poochie - October 1, 2009
That game was a blast to be at.
The few fans that were there were into it. Beltre got commended for his fine defensive efforts, the Griffey homer was celebrated by an uproar, and the crowd was REALLY feeling King Felix.
One of the more pleasurable games I’ve been to this season.
