Oi... I don't think I can ever forget the feeling of that game. So amazing.
c_dowley - October 2, 2010
Sigh.
I was in sixth grade. They stopped school and let everyone watch the last few innings.
sanford_and_son - October 2, 2010
I was in fifth grade
They did not stop school, in San Diego.
Jeff Sullivan - October 2, 2010
I was in third grade in Bremerton
They stopped school also, although school let out before the game was over and I was able to finish watching it at home. Edgar then proceeded to have his 2 HR, 7 RBI game against the Yankees five days later on my birthday. Yay Edgar!
Kouvre - October 2, 2010
Oops, meant fifth grade also
Clearly, I need to repeat fifth grade.
Kouvre - October 2, 2010
I was 5. I had no idea who the Mariners were.
joey90 - October 2, 2010
Such bullshit
Poochie - October 2, 2010
I was in fifth grade and I think I got out of school somehow because I was in a Godfather's pizza at the time and the place went nuts
Then they gave out free pizza!
OlSalty - October 2, 2010
I was 3 :(

It's like you have never really lived

ALL OF YOU PEOPLE ARE MAKING ME FEEL SO VERY VERY OLD
but this was probably one of the top five Mariners games I’ve ever been to.
pdb - October 2, 2010
It's making me feel old too.
I wasn’t at the game but it was without a doubt the best Mariners’ game I had ever seen at that point (a claim it held for less than a week).
KC Mariner - October 2, 2010
Yes, this is how I feel exactly.
TrustBaseball - October 3, 2010
Only time a sporting event made me cry.
Sec 108 - October 4, 2010
10th grade
I had a stocking cap on covering my ear buds (before they were called ear buds). Wire was strapped up my back under my sweatshirt. I listened to the games during 5th and 6th periods and could barely keep myself under control.
I was “sick” the next day so I could stay home with my dad’s credit card to get playoff tickets. thanks Dad
HitKing69 - October 2, 2010
You've got a great dad. Please thank him.
TrustBaseball - October 3, 2010
It's nice to be reminded how awesome baseball can be.
Jesus Christ I can’t wait for this season to end.
wetzelcoal - October 2, 2010
I was thinking about watching tonights game
You know, because we won’t get to see them for about 5 months and that I thought … Fuck, David Pauley? Ah, Fuck!
HitKing69 - October 2, 2010
1995!
lemonverbena - October 2, 2010
Remember when time stopped?
HitKing69 - October 2, 2010
Fuckin Tony Phillips
Poochie - October 2, 2010
15 years, probably a hundred viewings...
and you’re right, still chills.

''...nineteen long years of FRUS-tration is over!"
eponymous_coward - October 2, 2010
In retrospect, why was Randy pitching a complete game when it was 9-0?
Matthew - October 2, 2010
Huh ... I never thought of that
It could because Bobby Ayala was our best reliever and a 9 run lead wasn’t really safe
HitKing69 - October 2, 2010
As our "best reliever", Ayala so sucked.
TrustBaseball - October 3, 2010
Because Randy probably didn't want to come out and he was bigger than Lou
Jeff Sullivan - October 3, 2010
You know, looking back on it
Randy Johnson was really good.
huskies2010 - October 2, 2010
Yeah, Randy was just what we needed then. That was big fun and total excitement.
But we’ve always been short of just what we really needed since then.
I frankly depressed that we’ve never had all that we needed. Until we have that, we will not get back to to playoffs, and we will always watch the post season from our couches. There will be no tickets for us to purchase. Please, GMZ, give us a reason to purchase October tickets in April or March.
TrustBaseball - October 3, 2010
I just made a couple placards
so I could put the line score of this game on the scoreboard a lot of you saw at SoftbaLL. It felt good.
Two Rs and Two Ls - October 3, 2010
10th grade
My mom let me skip school to go to the game with my older brother. We threw confetti and rushed the field. I still have dirt from the pitcher’s mound.
