Thanks to the expedited off season, teams only have five days to negotiate with their outgoing free agents and more importantly for the Mariners, options must be decided on this week as well. The Mariners have four such options to decide on.
Ian Snell has a $6.75 million team option for 2011. Ian Snell is bad.

Demoted to AAA and not picked up off waivers, but the option still exists in his contract.

I remember that, but I swear I remember something from about two weeks ago that he had been DFA'd...

This will be interesting to see how many trollers are out there.

Granted Free Agency: Ian Snell, Eliezer Alfonzo
Or is this the distinction between “Granted Free Agency” and “Released” ?

Aly Edge - November 2, 2010
Jeff Clement is terrible.
Patrick Stites - November 2, 2010

I really am bummed he did not rebound here.
I have to admit I wanted him and I now regret that desire deeply.

I am in the same camp as you.
The tantalizing minor league numbers and flashes of brilliance from several years ago blinded me.
Also, he’s the cousin of my stepbrother’s wife. If he became fabulously wealthy there was a non-zero chance he’d pick up my bar tab at some time in the future.
Alas.
