According to Larry Stone, The Mariners have declined their options on Jose Lopez, Erik Bedard and Russell Branyan. Jose Lopez remains under team control via arbitration for the time being. Ian Snell's option was also previously declined.
Good work, crowd.

Feierabend, Seddon, and Sean White were also removed from the roster.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
JY - November 3, 2010
Feierabend was ok, but removing Sean White is the best news I've heard in weeks.
HititHere - November 3, 2010
Feierabend was broken goods.
He really wasn’t that good to begin with.

Right, TJ with his velocity and command was bad news.

Anybody call seattlebruin yet?
We should put him on suicide watch.
JLProck - November 3, 2010
Well this is lame
although they could just offer him arbitration, it’s not like he would get a big raise after posting a .270 wOBA
seattlebruin - November 3, 2010
I still can't figure out why we traded for Branyan

The front office loved the muscle .gif and wanted to see it a few more times.

Watchability
Didn’t really help much, but that’s the only motivation I can figure.

Scientific study on protection theory
Hey, guess what, doesn’t work!
seiferguy - November 3, 2010
Even if they want to keep him he has essentially no leverage and why not assume you can either trade him, get him for cheaper in arb, or just replace him?
abender20 - November 3, 2010
I wonder if the arbiter
would just take off his glove and smack Jose Lopez across the face instead of actually ruling on his case?
Michael Barr - November 3, 2010
Take off his glove?
Are you saying the arbitrator is wearing gloves, or that Loafie would bring his glove to his hearing?
njd.aitken - November 3, 2010
The arbiter is the one with the glove.
And that glove smack is a challenge to a duel. As the challenger, he gets to set the rules and the type of challenge – so he will probably pick plate discipline.
Ballard Erik - November 3, 2010
His glove was the only thing that worked for him all year.
So he might look at it as a good luck charm.
ToddK - November 3, 2010
We won't need Branyan until August anyway.
