A Reminder

My Mariners Annual arrived today, which reminded me to remind you to buy it. But it online here, or, if you prefer, wait a few weeks and buy it in stores as early as March 2nd. Or buy it online and in stores to see which is better. I bet they're different!

Carlos Silva?

I ordered it back when you guys first posted the link and forgot all about it. Now I’m eagerly anticipating it.

Is it everything you dreamed and more?
I'm hoping mine arrives tomorrow!

But that would require that the mail people in my building not be dumb, which is not something I would bet on.

You’d think they’d have an easier time with it considering my box has my name on it and there are only ~30 people with my last name in this country, but no…

I got mine today!

You might even say I’m reading it right now.

How did you get yours so soon?
I wrote the top ten prospects piece?

It’s hard for me to tell if you’re joking or not, but authors get advanced copies, as Dave explains below.

For a short moment I forgot you were the same person as the Jay Yencich that authored the top ten prospects piece

Sorry!

I'm just now seeing the "Steve Cee" crack in the review section.

I chuckled.

I bet there's no difference between getting the annual through the mail and buying at the store, Jeff.

This appears to be a ploy to make people buy two copies! Watch out, everyone.

Thanks to living together the three of us only need to buy 1 of them!
Just bought mine

I’ll have to check out the story copy too to see if there’s any updates.

I was going to buy it but your computer has Carlos Silva on it.
Yay. I wasn't expecting mine until the end of next week. Oh wait, do the authors get advance copies?
Yes

Jeff got a copy shipped directly from the printer, seeing as how he wrote two pieces and edited a bunch more. Everyone else will have to wait until Maple Street starts shipping them on Wednesday, so don’t expect your copy in less than a week.

The cover is a little more baseball specific than the cubs version

Looks like they are going for a different demographic

Such shameful pandering.

I’ll try both online and at the store. I’ll let you know which is better.

Ok ok I bought one. Jesus.
Now that you have one

Don’t you want another?

I don't have it yet

They don’t ship til Wednesday. Can’t you read?

Now that you've bought one

Don’t you want another?

What is the "Alone No More" supposed to mean?

“Ichiro and friends continue their sprint toward the AL West title”

Ichiro and Friends...

This needs to be turned into a cartoon ASAP.

Ichiro has friends?...

Aside from his dog?

I can't wait until his evil twin brother makes an appearance.

He is no longer on a team full of retards.
I got goosebumps paging through mine today.

This is such an amazing project.

Does anyone know

If Barnes and Noble will be one of the stores carrying this amazing piece once it hits stores??

Apparently my ability to type disappears this late at night
It will be carried pretty much anywhere magazines are sold in Washington.
If these are published in MA,

Then how are you all receiving them on the west coast and I haven’t gotten mine in the midwest? I got two, one for me and one I was hoping to give out for Valentine’s Day.

Read up. Authors get advanced copies, and ours ship Feb. 17th.
Duh, that makes sense.
And here I thought you guys had Geoff Baker pasting these together

Isn’t that why he was gone for a month?

I was unhappy with Felix not making the cover but it could be worse.

That is amazing.

Is that what coasty’s comment was referring to? Ha!

That link is troubling.

I wrote that before I clicked it. I thought that the link just got cut off. Nope. That actually happened.

Question: does the Maple Street Press control the right to design the cover?

It’s not bad, I guess, but definitely not what I was expecting design-wise. Then again, I guess you don’t want it to look like the London Review of Books if it’s going to be on newsstands everywhere. In any case, I’m surprised that the authors’ names – and something like “the leading voices of Seattle Baseball come together for…” – aren’t on the front of the cover.

I don't like how Ichiro's bat makes it look like "Mariners Anal".

Still bought a copy though.

I want to get mine autographed by the authors
I was thinking of asking someone who's going to spring training if I could send them my copy, get a few autographs and then send it back

but I don’t know how feasible/reasonable that is.

All of them? That would be really hard

There’s a decent group of them located in Seattle, but I’m in North Carolina, Yencich and Gennaro are in New York, Keri is in New Hampshire, Sullivan is in Portland, Dave Allen is in Michigan…

I don’t know that you’ll ever get even a majority of the authors of this thing in the same room together.
