I'm amazed Bradley didn't blow up on the ump there.
Because he had every right to. And instead he just walked it off and let his manager argue it. I know it’s only Spring training, but it’s good to see that restraint from him.
That ridiculous policy was apparently still in tact Aug. 8 when Baines was ejected by Foster for dropping his bat at home plate and silently walking to the dugout in protest of a called third strike call.
None of the stadiums have radar readings on the scoreboards. How fucking tough is to have that. If Cheney Stadium can do it, I would think these other stadiums could.
Definitely rooting for Aardsma to end the year as closer, the realist in me (and probably the M’s front office) just doesn’t see it happening. Can never have enough possible closers in your bullpen.
The initial system may have been idiotic, but idiots have trouble repeating their work, so it requires intelligent people to replicate the thoughts of morons. The metric system is easily repeatable and logical so idiots can figure it out.
Weird concept-
It takes an intelligent person to replicate the works of an idiot but an idiot should be able to replicate the thoughts of an intelligent person
the metric system was developed by intelligent people for idiots and the imperial system was designed by idiots for idiots but can only be used by intelligent people
These group of people that were sitting behind me. They spent the first 3 innings on the phone clamoring to whomever that
the game was on tv and that they were there. And they, when the camera crew apparently showed us(after the Bradley ejection?) they went ballastic like it was the coolest thing in the world. Then when Bradley got ejected, they started talking about how he sucked ass, and how he probably did roids in Texas. And they booed him and glared at me when I started yelling at the ump. But Griffey should be the everyday DH because he’s still got some left in the tank! And then they wondered when Vlad signed with Texas. And then they were wondering why the Mariners didn’t keep Snell in the pen like they did last year after they acquired him. And then they started saying Figgins sucks cause he has no power, so I said fuck it and moved farther down the line.
On the plus side, Erik Bedard is awesome. He was bullshitting with all us behind the dugout before the game
and was signing everything thrown his way and smiling. Not only that, but people would ask for other players signatures, like Ichiro, so he was taking their stuff, getting the other players to sign them, and then throwing them back. He was the talk of the whole section behind the dugout.
Outfielder for Clinton last season, and Wisconsin the year before. In other words, he hasn’t escaped the MWL yet. Think about a poor man’s version of Ezequiel Carrera with more strikeout issues than someone with negligible power should have, and you’d be close.
But Gillies’ strikeout issues aren’t that bad. 80 last year? Not damning, and that’s nothing on Mendez. Mendez struck out 142 times in 2008, over 393 at-bats. He only slugged .336, with an average of .237.
Was hoping you'd post one.

No no no Loafie.
You can swing at pitches that are strike, but good on you for trying to be a little more like Figgins.
BrianL - March 17, 2010
So, what, Maddux said 'throw strikes"?

Snell's pitches look incredibly hittable, but he is changing the speeds so smoothly.
That changeup looks good.
Wilder. - March 17, 2010

oscartehgrouch - March 17, 2010

Showing up the ump?
But if its the 3rd out thats never the case.
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
Just amazing
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
I'm amazed Bradley didn't blow up on the ump there.
Because he had every right to. And instead he just walked it off and let his manager argue it. I know it’s only Spring training, but it’s good to see that restraint from him.
Fear - March 17, 2010
I'm thinking he thought he was the third out.
Because he was taking off his batting glove. By the time he realized it was only the second out, he was tossed.

Please use the subject line for comments Mr. D
Graham MacAree - March 17, 2010
Holy crap...
It is the real Divish… St. Patty’s day miracle!!!!
dkulich - March 17, 2010
Whoa Lopez.
BrianL - March 17, 2010
I'll take it...
oscartehgrouch - March 17, 2010
Yeah, Twitter isn’t working. I was too far behind to do a game update blog. I’d rather come on here instead. My kind of commenters on this site.
Ryan Divish - March 17, 2010
<3
Twitter is killing me. My body doesn’t know what to do anymore when it’s over capacity for more than five minutes.
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
When Twitter is over capacity, not my body
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
Somehow I don't think it was Bradley driving it over the limit...
is American Idol or something on?
msb - March 17, 2010
Not till 9!
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
Screw it.
We’re taking credit for it.
Fear - March 17, 2010
Did we take it down when the Lee trade happened??
Or is that just a figment of my imagination?
wyte_lightning - March 17, 2010
It's nassfat
kentroyals5 - March 17, 2010
Sorry, Jeff, I will use the subject line from now on.
Ryan Divish - March 17, 2010
Sweet!
ThundaPC - March 17, 2010
Success!
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
At least someone learns quickly
wyte_lightning - March 17, 2010
You're so much cooler than nassfat
Griffin Cooper - March 17, 2010
Now we work on the reply button
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
Web 2.0 Extras!
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
The rec and flag buttons are going to take awhile.
Wilder. - March 17, 2010
So does the M's game just kill twitter?
carstensm - March 17, 2010
Wait until opening day when the game thread takes SBN down.
Wilder. - March 17, 2010
With my gigantic gif!
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
o.O
Have we seen this gif before or is this a special one for opening day?
Wilder. - March 17, 2010
Special. Very Special.
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
WHERE IS IT!
WHERE’S THE GIF! THERE’S NO TIME DAMMIT!
Slurvey - March 17, 2010
You'll have to wait.
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
I'm now more excited for your gif than I am for opening day.
Wilder. - March 17, 2010
me too
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
What program do you use to rip video clips and how do you edit them with Photoshop?
My gif editing skills are atrocious and ripping video clips are a pain for me.
Wilder. - March 17, 2010
You can import video into photoshop and since my wife is hitting the keyboard as I type
email me – its in the profile. 0-=
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
I'll hit you up at a more appropriate time.
Wilder. - March 17, 2010
I'm genuinely not sure what I'm looking forward to more
The first game of the season or this .gif you’ve been keeping from us.
Eyeball Kid - March 17, 2010
I'm Dumb
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
really dumb
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
Let the cat out of the bag?
Wilder. - March 17, 2010
I'm so happy for game threads in my life again.
okdan - March 17, 2010
So after reading some news articles...
It seems like dropping your bat is a major sign of disrespect… like a silent protest type of deal…
oscartehgrouch - March 17, 2010
I always thought Milton Bradley was a lot like Ghandi.
kentroyals5 - March 17, 2010
Apparently, not the first time...
He’s dropped a bat…
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3438827
oscartehgrouch - March 17, 2010
Wait, the article's from 2008 but Bradley's in an M's hat?
Eyeball Kid - March 17, 2010
Game threads prevent me from actually watching the game.
carstensm - March 17, 2010
Agree!
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
It was much easier with MLB.TV being on the same screen.
Wilder. - March 17, 2010
This is a bad thing?
Poochie - March 17, 2010
Well that was an embarrassment
Graham MacAree - March 17, 2010
I'm dumb
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
I smell bad
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
I love Ibanez
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
I love cats
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
Scruffy is Kiana using your account again?
BrianL - March 17, 2010
BINGO
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
My wife is soooo cool
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
That's not what you said yesterday.
Wilder. - March 17, 2010
At the very least she's a saint.
BrianL - March 17, 2010
and way better at all sports
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
Nice save
OlSalty - March 17, 2010
I'm sure that was his wife who wrote that.
Wilder. - March 18, 2010
Do they have a radar gun on the broadcast?
Ryan Divish - March 17, 2010
yup
carstensm - March 17, 2010
I think so, yeah.
No idea how accurate it is though.
BrianL - March 17, 2010
I liked the commercials, but I am burnt out already.
carstensm - March 17, 2010
Bullpen face!
that’s your cue, Scruffy!
Eyeball Kid - March 17, 2010
But will him use the bullpen gif or the Shelton gif?
msb - March 17, 2010
Bullpen!
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
I am so glad Divish is here tonight.
Wilder. - March 17, 2010
Yay!
Eyeball Kid - March 17, 2010
Spring is officially here!
Big Jared - March 17, 2010
I love/hate it!!
wyte_lightning - March 17, 2010
That's how we all feel about Scruffy!
BrianL - March 17, 2010
OH MY GOD.
This is awesome.
dkulich - March 17, 2010
he.
sigh.
msb - March 17, 2010
that's one thing pisses me off
None of the stadiums have radar readings on the scoreboards. How fucking tough is to have that. If Cheney Stadium can do it, I would think these other stadiums could.
Ryan Divish - March 17, 2010
Really? That's kind of surprising.
BrianL - March 17, 2010
Maybe they think it makes the parks more "quaint"
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
What do they do with the money they collect from fines?
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
Selig's annual spring break bash.
BrianL - March 17, 2010
Hookers and blow?
Big Jared - March 17, 2010
Washington is on the VIP list?
wyte_lightning - March 17, 2010
He's there every year!
Doc Gooden - March 17, 2010
Blowers?
carstensm - March 17, 2010
And lots of Corona.
BrianL - March 17, 2010
Selig, not Ron Washington
/predictable.
Eyeball Kid - March 17, 2010
I wish all the coaches sat in lawn chairs out in front of the dugout in real life.
carstensm - March 17, 2010
Oh shit
David Aardsma: still terrifying.
Eyeball Kid - March 17, 2010
ROB!
oscartehgrouch - March 17, 2010
This team is terrible
Dewey N - March 17, 2010
This is all Bill James' fault
oscartehgrouch - March 17, 2010
Bill James said a lot of really underinformed things
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
I feel like Baker really pressured him into that.
He did not want to be there.
carstensm - March 17, 2010
Bill James hasn't been particularly relevant in years
Graham MacAree - March 17, 2010
I haven't watched it, figured that it would just make me sad.
BrianL - March 17, 2010
I was just going off the text
I’ve never watched a Baker video
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
I saw a little blurb that Geoff was pressing James on chemistry and lost all interest.
BrianL - March 17, 2010
The pythag justification for the M's overperforming last year got to me
OlSalty - March 19, 2010
When do you think Brandon League becomes the closer
Ryan Divish - March 17, 2010
Next inning...
oscartehgrouch - March 17, 2010
After Mark Lowe.
Slurvey - March 17, 2010
Probably after Mark Lowe
nassfat - March 17, 2010
Last week of April.
BrianL - March 17, 2010
When his closer tattoo is finished.
Wilder. - March 17, 2010
right now!
Astrobiology - March 17, 2010
Can someone mute this bitch?
Come on _!!!!! Every pitch
ColeFitz88 - March 17, 2010
Yeah, seriously
oscartehgrouch - March 17, 2010
Nice dive Lopey.
Quick push him back in the water before he dies.
Ryan Divish - March 17, 2010
That replay made it 100x worse
oscartehgrouch - March 17, 2010
I wish I could watch this :\
:[
blueside714 - March 17, 2010
suspension!!!
Ryan Divish - March 17, 2010
for Bradley? or Lee
nassfat - March 17, 2010
Aardsma.
carstensm - March 17, 2010
Biggest load of BS.
wyte_lightning - March 17, 2010
holy shit
that was fucking crushed
Ryan Divish - March 17, 2010
Cruz is an ox
nassfat - March 17, 2010
Much better!
Griffin Cooper - March 17, 2010
Aardsma with a pop up
that made it over the wall….shit!
seattle_since_81 - March 17, 2010
Arizona!
oscartehgrouch - March 17, 2010
Dude, Cruz. Cut it out.
Alto - March 17, 2010
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME
Dewey N - March 17, 2010
Weeee
BrianL - March 17, 2010
How come Arizona doesn't do that to our hitters?
carstensm - March 17, 2010
This inning has been pleasant
Graham MacAree - March 17, 2010
They are just trying to lull the Rangers into a false sense of security.
msb - March 17, 2010
Wind is blowing out to right-center tonight
wyte_lightning - March 17, 2010
Are we going to hear about a stiff arm after the game?
oscartehgrouch - March 17, 2010
That or Aardsma was working on a cutter.
BrianL - March 17, 2010
Stiff something
wyte_lightning - March 17, 2010
Bringing in the closer that will finish the season
seattle_since_81 - March 17, 2010
I can't believe I am glad to hear a Moneytree commercial...
Fucking Rangers fans…
oscartehgrouch - March 17, 2010
Aardsma replaced by his eventual replacement!
Eyeball Kid - March 17, 2010
well then
what is this home run derby?
Ryan Divish - March 17, 2010
Woops
carstensm - March 17, 2010
hmm
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
Are you fucking kidding me
Alto - March 17, 2010
sweet
Astrobiology - March 17, 2010
Grifrey
Dressed as Tiger Woods… says we can win 90-95 games. Must make it true.
dkulich - March 17, 2010
I love spring training
Graham MacAree - March 17, 2010
Uh-oh.
Eyeball Kid - March 17, 2010
Was that League's first pitch as a Mariner?
nassfat - March 17, 2010
First televised pitch maybe.
Eyeball Kid - March 17, 2010
unless there was some other guy with lots of tattoos and a bad haircut making those three other appearances
Ryan Divish - March 17, 2010
So, how just how goofy does the "LEAGUE" tat across the back look?
msb - March 17, 2010
It's like he took his jersey in and said, can you put this on my back.
Ryan Divish - March 17, 2010
With which colors?
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
Wonder what it'll spell when he is old, and the skin sags...
LEAK?
msb - March 17, 2010
Bobby Madritsch is back!?
BrianL - March 17, 2010
BALLS
GOING OVER WALLS….DAMMIT
seattle_since_81 - March 17, 2010
Shawn Kelley anyone?
Marinerfanjake - March 17, 2010
I think it's Morrow's time.
kentroyals5 - March 17, 2010
I got some bad news for you
wyte_lightning - March 17, 2010
KABLOOEY!!
ThundaPC - March 17, 2010
Well shit. There goes the season.
mark sobba - March 17, 2010
I'm pissed as shit
Dewey N - March 17, 2010
I think it's the number League's wearing.
carstensm - March 17, 2010
Sims reads fangraphs. Niceee
nassfat - March 17, 2010
No I think he just listens to Blengino.
carstensm - March 17, 2010
Whatever the case
Good timing Sims. Got the K on it.
dkulich - March 17, 2010
by referencing League's swing and miss percentage as the top in baseball last year
nassfat - March 17, 2010
Now that pitch was filthy
Ryan Divish - March 17, 2010
I missed it.
Did he toss out the splitter?
wyte_lightning - March 17, 2010
Yessir
dkulich - March 17, 2010
Is there a gate
so Guti can play in that grassy area beyond the fence?
Droid Rage - March 17, 2010
I wonder if Saltalamacchia is jealous of Hyphen
cause his name takes up more room on the back of Hyphen’s jersey.
seattle_since_81 - March 17, 2010
There we go.
League nasty splitter best pitch ever thing for the win.
dkulich - March 17, 2010
My favorite movie is the Notebook
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
Really, was this the Brandon we were waiting for?
mark sobba - March 17, 2010
Rob Johnson bloop, Wilson drag bunt, Ichiro base hit, Figgy GRAND SLAM!!
It’s somewhat possible right?
oscartehgrouch - March 17, 2010
Figgy walk
Bradley’s replacement grand slam.
Eyeball Kid - March 17, 2010
Langerhans!
carstensm - March 17, 2010
Haha great angle on Snell.
carstensm - March 17, 2010
Aww, they fixed :(
Eyeball Kid - March 17, 2010
*fixed it
Eyeball Kid - March 17, 2010
Some on slap me...
I believe in Ian Snell.
dkulich - March 17, 2010
Crap...
Some one…
dkulich - March 17, 2010

Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
Poor Scruffy.
wyte_lightning - March 17, 2010
Hey keep that stuff in the bedroom
seattle_since_81 - March 17, 2010
I think his wife is trying to send him signals.
Wilder. - March 17, 2010
I am skeptical that the first part could be typed so clearly in a struggle
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
I am definitely stonger
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
Poor Scruffy.
Wilder. - March 17, 2010
She regained conciousness pretty quickly
kentroyals5 - March 17, 2010
Man Snell sounds depressed.
Is that that sound of him sharpening a razor blade??
wyte_lightning - March 17, 2010
He sounds fine to me.
Eyeball Kid - March 17, 2010
Just look at that simle!
Eyeball Kid - March 17, 2010
Jinx.
dkulich - March 17, 2010
Not only were you faster but you can type properly too.
Eyeball Kid - March 17, 2010
Simile?
msb - March 17, 2010
Look at that smile!
dkulich - March 17, 2010
carstensm - March 17, 2010
Mentor Felix?!?!
oscartehgrouch - March 17, 2010
Those hats are soooo cheap.
carstensm - March 17, 2010
Twitter's back
Great news, brain!
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
And Divish is gone forever.
dkulich - March 17, 2010
Thanks for dropping by!
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
well, not quite, I kind of enjoy the game threads on here.
Ryan Divish - March 17, 2010
Welcome anytime.
You can even use expletives here.
msb - March 17, 2010
Oh, he knows
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
Divish is going to start dropping F bombs on twitter and TNT if he spends too much time here.
carstensm - March 17, 2010
Or he'll just get fired
Way to use your real name, Ryan.
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
Welcome to the club
We’re like the He-Man woman Haters, only we still like girls, they just don’t like us.
dkulich - March 17, 2010
Your presence makes LL feel big time
Dewey N - March 17, 2010
I have more Twitter followers than he does
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
You're just some guy with a computer
Dewey N - March 17, 2010
Seriously, we get Dave Cameron and Ryan Divish commenting here
Who do the other blogs have?
seattle_since_81 - March 17, 2010
200tang
Griffin Cooper - March 17, 2010
Pedro Calderon.
BrianL - March 17, 2010
This reminds me of the games I have witnessed in AZ.
msb - March 17, 2010
Shave it off, Don.
BrianL - March 17, 2010

Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
Shave It Off, Don
BrianL - March 17, 2010
I like his hair
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
So I'm already sick of these commercials
I hate having television
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
That Griffey unscripted bizness is just too cute for tv
nassfat - March 17, 2010
Are you keeping your mlb.tv?
carstensm - March 17, 2010
Yep
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
Yeah,
it’s definitely like that band you love that gets overplayed on the radio and you end up hating.
dkulich - March 17, 2010
Kings of Leon anyone?
seattle_since_81 - March 17, 2010
Crash Test Dummies
circa 1994
dkulich - March 17, 2010
I'm getting them on mlb.tv
Dewey N - March 17, 2010
Me too.
Eyeball Kid - March 17, 2010
"Here you go"
“I saw that”
They have some great lines in this year’s commercials.
seattle_since_81 - March 17, 2010
So Ryan, got any thoughts on your colleague?
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
Which one?
Ryan Divish - March 17, 2010
John McGrath, obviously...
carstensm - March 17, 2010
I'll say I wish McGrath was here.
Other than that, I haven’t had to see him in whitey tighties this year.
Ryan Divish - March 17, 2010
Oh lord.
msb - March 17, 2010
Grizzly
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
Yeah, well, um, I don't know, maybe....
My mom always said if you can’t say anything nice about someone, say it about Bill Bavasi cause that motherfucker was an ass.
Ryan Divish - March 17, 2010
Best. Comment. Ever.
dkulich - March 17, 2010
I concur
nassfat - March 17, 2010
I'm still laughing.
dkulich - March 17, 2010
Your mom sounds awesome.
Eyeball Kid - March 17, 2010
I can't wait for your podcast
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
I'm hoping for a Divish/LL crossover podcast.
BrianL - March 17, 2010
There has been discussions
Ryan Divish - March 17, 2010
You tease.
BrianL - March 17, 2010
Hopefully
It’s like the Batman/Captain America crossover. Best ever.
dkulich - March 17, 2010
Wow if you guys can't work this out I have no faith in the system
OlSalty - March 17, 2010
I want to know who has played the publicity flack the last few years
msb - March 17, 2010

oscartehgrouch - March 17, 2010
Good God that pitch is nasty.
BrianL - March 17, 2010
I have a feeling we'll be saying that a lot this year
wyte_lightning - March 17, 2010
That was a flithy splitter.
wyte_lightning - March 17, 2010
Those fastballs are hard to catch, huh Rob?
seattle_since_81 - March 17, 2010

Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010

Done.
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
You're the best.
BrianL - March 17, 2010
At least she left us a subject line.
Wilder. - March 17, 2010
Why would you buy a car from someone who punches babies?
Eyeball Kid - March 17, 2010
And you don't punch for any VW
that’s why it’s called Slug BUG.
seattle_since_81 - March 17, 2010
It's Sparkly!!!!
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
Reply fail.
wyte_lightning - March 17, 2010
Figgins is never sad....
section331 - March 17, 2010
I'm new at this lol
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
Brandon League just oozes closer material
Seriously. He’s like a good CJ Wilson.
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
Jack Z isn't dumb
He knows that Aardsma isn’t gonna stick. League is closer by end of the year no doubt.
dkulich - March 17, 2010
I'm guessing this is Wak's decision
But I agree that is a large part of the reason Zdurencik acquired him
aussie_chop - March 17, 2010
Oh yeah,
Definitely rooting for Aardsma to end the year as closer, the realist in me (and probably the M’s front office) just doesn’t see it happening. Can never have enough possible closers in your bullpen.
dkulich - March 17, 2010
Big muscles firing?
Really, Rob?
oscartehgrouch - March 17, 2010
I don't think Johnson knows theres a camera on him.
carstensm - March 17, 2010
Hopefully he picks his nose.
dkulich - March 17, 2010
Wow, did he just grab his ass while saying "gluts"?
oscartehgrouch - March 17, 2010
Rob Johnson cannot grow facial hair.
section331 - March 17, 2010
Or catch baseballs.
Eyeball Kid - March 17, 2010
Yeah, that, too.
section331 - March 17, 2010
We're not going to score any runs this season
Dewey N - March 17, 2010
DEAR ROB JOHNSON - WHAT.
section331 - March 17, 2010
Glutes. Nice touch, Rob
nassfat - March 17, 2010
"The biggest thing is getting your glutes firing."
BrianL - March 17, 2010
If my glutes could "fire"
I wouldn’t need to be going to trade school. :(
section331 - March 17, 2010
Is that the same as your ass firing?
Droid Rage - March 17, 2010
David Aardsma threw one pitch above 93.4
DIVISH! Explain.
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
I have no idea. I think he may be still babying his groin and not pushing off in his delivery
Ryan Divish - March 17, 2010
That would explain the wildness
Except, wait…
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
Really that isn't a good explanation either
Ryan Divish - March 17, 2010

nassfat - March 17, 2010

nassfat - March 17, 2010
Huh.
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
You don't need AB's you retard
oscartehgrouch - March 17, 2010

carstensm - March 17, 2010

seattle_since_81 - March 17, 2010
Mmmm bacon....
Because bacon is the candy bar of meats.
wyte_lightning - March 17, 2010
Someone gave me a bacon-flavoured mint the other day
it was fucking disgusting.
Eyeball Kid - March 17, 2010
Felix's voice just slays me
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
Chone Figgins sounds white
Dewey N - March 17, 2010
He also mentions Bob Dylan.
I don’t know any black people who’ve heard of Bob Dylan.
dkulich - March 17, 2010
Billy Joel was more surprising to me
Dewey N - March 17, 2010
Elton John was mentioned at some point as well.
dkulich - March 17, 2010
Nina Simone, Sam Cooke, Staples Singers ....
msb - March 17, 2010
I like when he says Michael Douglas.
Michael Douuulas
Wilder. - March 17, 2010

Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
I miss the sway
Dewey N - March 17, 2010
Do you?
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010

Dewey N - March 17, 2010
The king of the sway was Dan Wilson during the anthem.
msb - March 17, 2010
It's obvious his hips needed surgery back then. Couldn't even stand up straight.
kentroyals5 - March 17, 2010
Yes good please show these commercials more
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
I like how they show them in commercial breaks, AND in the broadcast.
carstensm - March 17, 2010
Rob Johnson's hair always looks flocked
msb - March 17, 2010
I bet you have to pay extra for a flocked Rob Johnson at the lot...
section331 - March 17, 2010
But he looks extra nice if you have one of those tri-color rotating lights.
msb - March 17, 2010
Ah, yes.
I think next year I will have to get one of those…
section331 - March 17, 2010
.
Here you go.
msb - March 17, 2010
Hmmm.
$70 is a lot of money to spend to highlight a Rob Johnson that I will eventually have to sell for parts. :(
section331 - March 17, 2010
Maybe you can find one cheap on EBay.
you’ll have to go there eventually to part Rob out.
msb - March 17, 2010
NObody will pay for that
It’ll cost me more to list the parts than any return I’d get.
Eventually, I’ll learn from my mistakes.
section331 - March 17, 2010
Who's this hairy bear
Dewey N - March 17, 2010
Kanekoa Texeira
msb - March 17, 2010
After seeing him he's definitely got my vote
Dewey N - March 17, 2010
Agreed
wyte_lightning - March 17, 2010
We should just stop praising people.
Eyeball Kid - March 17, 2010
And I've regained control.
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
Are you sure?
BrianL - March 17, 2010
Could change at any moment.
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
Uhhuh.
BrianL - March 17, 2010
Did both of you finish?
dkulich - March 17, 2010
Absolutely.
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
Good man.
Wilder. - March 17, 2010
Nice...

dkulich - March 17, 2010

Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
They're cute.
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010

Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010

seattle_since_81 - March 17, 2010

carstensm - March 17, 2010

dkulich - March 17, 2010
I see your Kanekoa Texeira and raise you Will Foster.
SethGrandpa - March 17, 2010
Wow
Impressed.
dkulich - March 17, 2010

SethGrandpa - March 17, 2010

moyerLIVES - March 17, 2010

wyte_lightning - March 17, 2010
That just cost him his job
wyte_lightning - March 17, 2010
Brandon Boggs is always going to be compared to his father
Dewey N - March 17, 2010
He drinks a lot of beer on cross country flights?
A lot
Big Jared - March 17, 2010
Why he's not a sidearmer at all
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
Let's hope he's not the next Reegie Corona
nassfat - March 17, 2010
Mmm
Coronas.
dkulich - March 17, 2010
Wait nevermind
It seems I didn’t accuse him of this.
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
Is Matthew still down there?
wyte_lightning - March 17, 2010
No he is not. :|
section331 - March 17, 2010

Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010

Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
Wow you are different
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
how?
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
Can we get some possession % numbers up for Scruffy's account tonight?
Right I have it eyeballed at about 65/35.
moyerLIVES - March 17, 2010
I really like Casey Kotchman
Dewey N - March 17, 2010
I like him a lot...
But I still want to see other people.
dkulich - March 17, 2010
The radio side is waaay ahead of the tv tonight.
msb - March 17, 2010
But but light travels faster than sound, right?
seattle_since_81 - March 17, 2010
Radio waves are light.
Rowsdower - March 17, 2010
I hate Dustin Nippert's name
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
Mostly because I want to make a joke...
but I can’t. It sound like nipple, but not really.
dkulich - March 17, 2010
The second syllable is more awkward than the first
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
Not to mention...
The name Dustin just screams douchebag.
dkulich - March 17, 2010
I sure hope not
Griffin Cooper - March 17, 2010
Watch it.
stredarts - March 17, 2010
First image that comes to mind.
Dustin Pedroia.
dkulich - March 17, 2010
Dustin Ackley?
Kirk - March 17, 2010
My point. Made by this person.
stredarts - March 17, 2010
I'm a really big fan of Dustin McGowan and his facial hair so I will disagree
Dewey N - March 17, 2010
ooooh
But man, Pedroia sucks.dkulich - March 17, 2010
Tin is more awkward than dus?
seattle_since_81 - March 17, 2010
ert
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
tell Joel to put his dishes downstairs in the sink!!!
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
We'll need his phone number
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
Tell Matthew to give it to you
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
"C'mon Bardo"
MFAN - March 17, 2010
The metric system is stupid
Corco - March 17, 2010
Incorrect.
Explain!
dkulich - March 17, 2010
I agree. incorrect
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
Base 10 makes it so even idiots can measure
The Imperial system requires some semblance of intelligence to calculate
Corco - March 17, 2010
This is exactly the argument I would expect out of you for taking this position.
Faux - March 17, 2010
I'm all for not catering to the idiots
The initial system may have been idiotic, but idiots have trouble repeating their work, so it requires intelligent people to replicate the thoughts of morons. The metric system is easily repeatable and logical so idiots can figure it out.
Weird concept-
It takes an intelligent person to replicate the works of an idiot but an idiot should be able to replicate the thoughts of an intelligent person
Corco - March 17, 2010
Wow,
I think you just explained the Red Sox front office in one sentence.
dkulich - March 17, 2010
I'm trying to figure out which of those two concepts you are proving.
Faux - March 17, 2010
Both
Corco - March 17, 2010
So what you're saying is that the metric system is for idiots and the imperial system is for intelligent people.
Wilder. - March 17, 2010
I'm saying
the metric system was developed by intelligent people for idiots and the imperial system was designed by idiots for idiots but can only be used by intelligent people
Corco - March 17, 2010
Most countries however disagree
I believe the Philippines and US are the only ones.
aussie_chop - March 17, 2010
to use the imperial system.
aussie_chop - March 17, 2010
I wouldn't have expected this opinion out of you
Dewey N - March 17, 2010
The kilometer posts on I-19 in Arizona can stay, however
Corco - March 17, 2010
They really don't want us to like these commercials do they
Griffin Cooper - March 17, 2010
that one was funny
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
I like the knee pat.
msb - March 17, 2010
Ha!
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
You'd think Ichiro would be able to feel the glue when he sits down.
MFAN - March 17, 2010
Kanekoa Texiera is awesome
Corco - March 17, 2010
I like what I've seen so far.
wyte_lightning - March 17, 2010
I don't want to take the dishes down, Jeff you can have my number, no one said anything about her "lol" comment
Fuck Edward
Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010

Scruffy Lefty - March 17, 2010
English?
wyte_lightning - March 17, 2010
I don't believe so
Griffin Cooper - March 17, 2010
Why yes, I am.
Eyeball Kid - March 17, 2010
Based on tonight's performance, I think Teixeira is going to make the team.
Wilder. - March 17, 2010
I told you Divish was gone after Twitter was back!
He’s back hanging out with the cool kids, talking with @BrockandSalk. We need to get them all to hang out over here.
dkulich - March 17, 2010
Salk, yes
Brock can stay where he is.
Eyeball Kid - March 17, 2010
He wouldn't last long, it sounds like.
Faux - March 17, 2010
We would break Brock.
Salk would be neat to hang out with, though.
BrianL - March 17, 2010
I think Brock would fit in with the beer crowd, though.
Wilder. - March 17, 2010
Brock's a choir boy.
One game thread and he’d be checking himself into therapy.
BrianL - March 17, 2010
If Drayer comes too...
I’d put up with Brock.
dkulich - March 17, 2010
Larry Stone!
BrianL - March 17, 2010
Thumbs up.
msb - March 17, 2010
Actually I was in the Rangers clubhouse ...
Doing a story for our season preview had to talk to a few players.
Ryan Divish - March 17, 2010
Oh you and your responsibilities
BrianL - March 17, 2010
Is CJ Wilson being as defensive in person as he is on Twitter?
msb - March 17, 2010
only talked to Young, Hamilton and Davis
Ryan Divish - March 17, 2010
Well... joking aside...
That’s pretty awesome. And huge huge huge props for coming and hanging out with us tonight. 100% appreciated, and hope it happens as much as possible.
dkulich - March 17, 2010
Yeah I'm sure that's what you were doing in there
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
Classy Sullivan.
Cocaine jokes are not a laughing matter.
Kirk - March 17, 2010
.
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
Look who's little Miss Perez Hilton
Dewey N - March 17, 2010
Take that down now....
It’s scaring people
Ryan Divish - March 17, 2010
You gotta take better care of yourself
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
So I take it from the commercials that JITB has decided to appeal direct to the stoner crowd now?
Faux - March 17, 2010
Stoned driving is not drunk driving!
Corco - March 17, 2010
I was surprised to see that one again
it’s what, two years old now?
msb - March 17, 2010
I have no clue, I'm on the east coast.
People talked endlessly about some midget cowboy thing last year, and I never ended up seeing it even when I came out west.
Faux - March 17, 2010
There was also one where anyone who saw Jack would strip to there underwear
Mostly fugly chicks and foreign guys
Marinerfanjake - March 17, 2010
Between Teixiera, League and RRS
we’d really up the surfer quotient.
msb - March 17, 2010
Suspend the fucker
BrianL - March 17, 2010
I wanted to post this.
But I didn’t know the name of the dude pitching. Fucker works well though.
dkulich - March 17, 2010
Oh,
It’s still Nippert. Fuck him.
dkulich - March 17, 2010
Suspend him!
Eyeball Kid - March 17, 2010
Whoopsie.
msb - March 17, 2010
Yay! Angles baseball!
MFAN - March 17, 2010
Esteban German is having quite an inning.
Eyeball Kid - March 17, 2010
Ze German is not having a good half inning.
dkulich - March 17, 2010
What would happen if Junior dropped his bat...
msb - March 17, 2010
Do it Junior
BrianL - March 17, 2010
Griffey has such a slow bat.
Wilder. - March 17, 2010
Groundout, flyout, popout, strikeout
The cycle!
Alto - March 17, 2010
Well fuck that game. And fuck that ump. And fuck those stupid people.
But hey, I got to hear how Sean Burroughs apparently has daddy issues and it was nice and cool.
Goose - March 17, 2010
Which stupid people?
And what did they do? Don’t tell me they were mocking Bradley off the field.
Wilder. - March 17, 2010
GOD.
Goose - March 17, 2010
Why are they there, because they obviously don't watch baseball.
Wilder. - March 17, 2010
Wow.
section331 - March 17, 2010
On the plus side, Erik Bedard is awesome. He was bullshitting with all us behind the dugout before the game
and was signing everything thrown his way and smiling. Not only that, but people would ask for other players signatures, like Ichiro, so he was taking their stuff, getting the other players to sign them, and then throwing them back. He was the talk of the whole section behind the dugout.
Goose - March 17, 2010
DAMN YOU MEDIA
Watch Bradley be kickass
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
Erik Bedard is the man
He is probably one of my favorites on this team.
seattle_since_81 - March 17, 2010
WHAT
I WAS AT THIS FUCKING GAME BUT DID I SEE ERIK BEDARD OR GET TO BULLSHIT WITH HIM NO
royalcurve - March 19, 2010
Hopefully Lopez
takes Nippert deep for and 8 run homer here.
dkulich - March 17, 2010
Who the hell is Maximo Mendes?
Eyeball Kid - March 17, 2010
Bat boy.
Wilder. - March 17, 2010
close.
Outfielder for Clinton last season, and Wisconsin the year before. In other words, he hasn’t escaped the MWL yet. Think about a poor man’s version of Ezequiel Carrera with more strikeout issues than someone with negligible power should have, and you’d be close.
JY - March 17, 2010
So a very poor man's version of Tyson Gillies
Maximo Mendes is a homeless man’s Tyson Gillies.
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
Correct.
Also can’t play center.
But Gillies’ strikeout issues aren’t that bad. 80 last year? Not damning, and that’s nothing on Mendez. Mendez struck out 142 times in 2008, over 393 at-bats. He only slugged .336, with an average of .237.
JY - March 17, 2010
This just makes me miss Omar Falcon
Jeff Sullivan - March 17, 2010
I'd suggest Blake Ochoa, but he might have some talent.
Traded one for one with the Marlins for the incredible Danny Santin.
JY - March 17, 2010
Well, that went well.
Heydude - March 17, 2010
Sup faggots
Poochie - March 17, 2010
Aw looks like I'm late
