Look, I don't know a whole lot about Comcast, but we did just sign up with them a month ago, with Digital Preferred and HDTV and internet and everything, and I don't have any complaints. The cable installation lady even told me about a bunch of loopholes I could take advantage of to screw Comcast of a little money down the road. For that reason alone, I give them the thumbs-up.

Okay, so I called them and I think the Comcast guy was mildly confused, but here's what he told me will happen:
I had Digital Starter with no extra channels, previously.
He said that by doing this, my bill will go up by the 9.99 per month, and I will get all the extra channels that are in Digital Preferred, plus MLB and NFL Networks (I think he maybe mentioned something about the NHL too but I missed it).
He said that the Digital Preferred is normally $16.99, so it’s about a 7 dollar savings; he also said that the price was guaranteed for a year.
10 bucks more a month for a ton of additional channels is worth it, to me. Thanks for posting this!

Because I already have Comcast, but I think there might be an opportunity to feign cancellation and then mention the SBNation deal as they try to keep my business. I really want Extra Innings, but don’t want to pay for it. If I am going to pay $120+, I would rather purchase MLB.TV because the product is portable.

I got a reduced price on my internet connection the other day basically just by asking.
It wasn’t a BIG price drop, but they’re running one promotion or another all the time. Just call them.

Having switched to Comcast from DISH & Earthlink DSL...
…I’ve got no complaints. Of course, I rarely watch TV outside of a few mainstream network shows and sports, so anything beyond basic HD cable and FSN/MLB Network is total fluff for me and I’m paying a premium for this.
But I just upgraded my Internet to their business class speed. Yeah, I’m not going to complain about my 20+ megabit connection on a slow day…

In case anyone is in a similar boat, since I’m too lazy to call right now…
I have Comcast internet, but not cable. Is this $9.99 deal going to get me cable (really all I give a shit about is FSN for Mariners games), or is it some kind of package that goes on top of their cable rate? Because I was recently quoted $25 a month, which was a little more than I want to pay for as infrequently as I’m home. This $10 a month deal sounds good though.

Think of how many sales you could make with a better close.
Do you ever find yourself sitting at home at 6pm wondering how that Royals/Twins game is going? Well Comcast wants to help you out and for a steal of a deal they are ready to cure what ails you. Maybe you are more of a Florida Marlins guy? Brewers? Nationals? It doesn’t matter because with this deal you and every other fan are covered. When you combine Comcast quality with MLB Extra Innings you might expect to pay what? Twenty-five bucks a month? Thirty? Not on this guys watch. For $.33 a day you get more than you need and all that you want. If you haven’t said yes yet then you may need to address the self-loathing that currently plagues you. It’s almost like this offer was created with just you in mind.
Just to show that Comcast, MLB and SBN care as much about those in need as those in want, when you sign up for this amazing deal one teenager in the Ozarks will be given a free teeth cleaning and a picture book explaining the downside of inbreeding.

Extra Innings is still $180 for the season (on their site — probably could get them down a small bit if you called and haggled). This promotion is just for some extra cable channels, including MLB Network.

Clarification on Comcast Offer from SB Nation
As was announced previously, Comcast has decided to partner with SB Nation on various initiatives in 2010, including a promotional relationship for the upcoming baseball season. In our excitement to launch the program, SB Nation and Comcast announced the MLB Extra Innings offer for switching from Dish Network or AT&T U-verse (where MLB EI is not yet available).
Unfortunately, it appears we may have jumped the gun on the promotion. As some of you may have already discovered, the offer is not currently available and I sincerely apologize for the missed step.
So…what does this mean? The good news is that the offer will be rolled out in many markets soon. As soon as it becomes available, we will let you know.
